I walk here nearly every day and/or night to get a beer or energy drink or iced tea and yea there's junkies and panhandlers and homeless due to its proximity to a halfway house and soup kitchen - but its not as bad as all these reviews make it seem. staff is friendly when you're inside. They close at 930pm - just quick go in get yr stuff and leave, and don't talk to the people on the street, ignore them and theyll go away. (or get them a dollar Arizona iced tea if yr feeling generous) Ive walked or driven over here at least 250 over the past 2 years without issue *knock on wood* in fact, once I ran out of gas right outside of the parking lot and a bunch of people from the neighborhood ran over and helped push me into the gas station 👍

This place is crazy !!!! I stopped by today to get some gas . In 5 minutes I’ve been approached by 4 people . One asking for money , another for a cigarette, another wanted to wash my windshield for $1 , another asking for a phone to call his grandfather. This place is scary !!!! You guys gotta do something about it. I’ll be avoiding this place at any cost now . Plus inside of the store smell like urine , dirty floors , doors. Smells like 10 homeless people were sleeping in there .

I would 100% avoid this place. I live in a rougher area in DC and let me tell you I feel way safer there than I did at this gas station. You can just tell by the look of it, but I wanted a quick stop before the highway. Do not do it. Someone approached me while I pumped my gas. He shook my hand and started droning on about some nonsense. If I was a less aware person, and more confrontational, there certainly would have been an issue. An employee at the pump offered no help. This is just to offer some safety to those who may decide to stop here.

I really try to avoid this gas station. For the past few years, the pumps say that they accept cards, but I have yet to get the machines to take my cards (I have even tried ones from different banks). It ends up being a waste of time and you have to go inside and prepay anyways (lesson learned). Even after prepaying, the pumps are so painfully slow; really not a delight when it is 6 Degrees outside and a panhandler is approaching. Getting gas should not be this much of a hassle. The only redeeming quality of this Sunoco is that the staff has always been really friendly. Very apologetic of the inconvenience and ready to offer a refund for the gas that I was not able to pump into my tank due to the fact that they had to reset the pumps to try and get them to pump out at a more reasonable speed. It is just a shame that the station itself could not be more efficient at providing gas, because this is the closest gas station to my house and I pass it every day on my way to work. Each reluctant visit I make (about once every year and a half now) I think to myself "Oh it truly could not have been THAT bad the last time that I used this Sunoco for gas...Surely they have fixed their issues by now..." I take it back each time. Shame on me for thinking that times have changed. I have now learned that I am better off driving a few minutes out of the way to a different gas station rather than spending and extra 15 to 20 minutes to get a couple of gallons of gas out of this Sunoco.

Was attacked at this location: Long story short, I went to put air in my tires, was met by 3 different people asking for money, went inside get change for air, didn't feel safe since they were all watching, told this to the staff, they said "so what", was then verbally attacked by a guy who also spat on my car, and then proceeded to pursue me in his vehicle for the next 5 minutes, I called the staff to tell them, they hung up on me, and have kept the phone off the hook since. This location is next to multiple buildings that house convicted sex offenders as well as being across the street from a food kitchen. I'm not kidding, I called both my parents and a bunch of friends after this happened forbidding them from going here out of fear for their safety. I'm a fairly assertive individual and was able to handle myself that minimized risk, I would not recommend going here, for any reason, ever.
