The Sunoco station at 2500 E End Blvd in Wilkes-Barre provides a range of services centered around vehicle fueling and convenience store offerings:

  • Retail Gasoline: Customers can expect to find various grades of unleaded gasoline, including regular, mid-grade, and premium options. Sunoco is known for offering TOP TIER™ certified fuels, which contain enhanced detergents for engine cleanliness.
  • Diesel Fuel: As is common with many major brand gas stations, diesel fuel is typically available, catering to a broader range of vehicles, including passenger diesel cars and commercial trucks.
  • Self-Service Fueling: The station operates on a self-service model, allowing customers to dispense their own fuel.
  • Convenience Store (APlus): This Sunoco location is part of the "Carriage Stop Plaza," which implies an associated convenience store, likely an APlus. These stores typically offer a wide array of products, including:
    • Snacks, candy, and packaged foods
    • Cold and hot beverages (including coffee)

Features / Highlights

The Sunoco station at 2500 E End Blvd in Wilkes-Barre comes with several notable features and some operational specifics that customers should be aware of:

  • Quality Sunoco Fuel: As a Sunoco branded station, it provides fuels that adhere to TOP TIER™ detergent gasoline standards. This means the fuel contains enhanced additives designed to prevent carbon deposits and keep engine parts cleaner, potentially leading to better engine performance and fuel efficiency over time.
  • Convenience Store Integration: Being part of Carriage Stop Plaza, the station offers a comprehensive convenience store, likely an APlus, enabling customers to quickly grab refreshments, snacks, and other essentials, fulfilling "most quick needs." Online information also points to "hot foods" and a "deli" at the Carriage Stop, suggesting more than just basic convenience store offerings.
  • Car Wash Availability: The presence of an on-site car wash adds significant value, allowing customers to fuel up and clean their vehicles in one convenient stop.
  • Credit Card Transaction Holds: A specific highlight, though potentially a point of caution, is the clear information about credit card transaction holds. For Mastercard users, a $50 hold is applied to pumps. This is a common industry practice (holds can range from $1 to over $100 depending on the station and card type) to ensure sufficient funds, especially with variable fuel amounts. The explicit mention of this policy helps customers plan their payments.
  • Prepay Option: The availability of a prepay option at the register is a valuable feature for those with limited funds or who wish to avoid authorization holds, providing flexibility in payment.

However, it is crucial to address the significant negative feedback concerning customer service and alleged discrimination. One review describes a highly negative interaction where staff allegedly refused service and behaved rudely, culminating in an accusation of racism. This type of feedback is very serious and can significantly impact a business's reputation and suitability for local patrons. While specific incidents do not necessarily reflect the entirety of a business's operations, they are vital for potential customers to consider.

Sunoco Customer Reviews

My tank was on E...unfortunately so were my funds. Long story short: If you have a Mastercard, the transaction hold on the pumps at this Sunoco is $50. I can't say if the same is true for other cards, but if a card with less than $50 available is all you have, then the alternative is to prepay at the register inside for a designated amount. No hold is necessary because the pump will automatically stop when it has dispensed the predetermined gallons.

Idk what’s going on with this place but I went here with my husband and there were two Indians one who had a turben on and the other one who didn’t. When we knocked on the door they just looked at us and didn’t even open the door. This place needs to be under supervision. We were treated in a very bad manner. This is racism at this point. I’m never coming back here again. Y’all need to do better honestly. Change your mindset or go back to where you come from fr. Ima keep a buck with y’all.

Full service gas pumped for you by a gas attendant employee. Didn't know that when searching for gas station it may have been in it's description and I didn't see it. Was using grocery store points for discount on per gallon price. Which the amount I saved I gave back and more with high price pre gallon for full service and tip the employee which there was a hand written posting on the pumps telling you so. I blame the grocery store for this only certain gas stations that take there gas points they should know full service n tip wipe any savings per gallon. Anyway employee was polite and did his job.
