Sunoco Introduce

For anyone navigating the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey, a reliable gas station is more than just a place to refuel; it's a vital pit stop that can make all the difference in a journey. In the sprawling network of New Jersey's highways, finding a convenient and accessible location for fuel and other essentials is paramount, especially for those venturing through the southern parts of the state. The Sunoco gas station located at Garden State Parkway Milepost 18 in Ocean View, NJ, serves as one such critical point, designed to cater to the immediate needs of drivers whether they are on a long road trip or just commuting locally.

New Jersey's unique laws regarding self-service gas mean that all fueling is done by an attendant, adding a layer of service that is distinct from many other states. This personal touch, while sometimes leading to longer wait times, also provides a level of convenience and safety for drivers. The Sunoco at Milepost 18 aims to embody this service-oriented approach, providing not just gasoline but also a degree of customer interaction that is characteristic of the state. As a brand, Sunoco has a long-standing presence in the fueling industry, known for its various grades of gasoline, including its performance fuels often favored by enthusiasts. This particular location, strategically placed on one of the most heavily trafficked roads in the state, plays a crucial role in supporting both local traffic and the countless tourists and travelers who utilize the Parkway.

Beyond the pumps, gas stations on major arteries like the Garden State Parkway often offer a range of convenience items and amenities that extend their utility beyond mere fueling. These can include snacks, drinks, automotive essentials, and sometimes even restrooms, transforming a quick stop into a more comprehensive break. While the primary function remains fuel, the broader offerings contribute significantly to the overall travel experience, making such locations integral to planning any journey within the region. The Sunoco in Ocean View strives to meet these expanded expectations, ensuring that drivers have access to more than just gasoline when they pull off the Parkway.

Location and Accessibility

The Sunoco gas station is strategically positioned at Garden State Pkwy Milepost 18, Ocean View, NJ 08230, USA. This precise location on the Garden State Parkway makes it an incredibly accessible and vital stop for anyone traveling along this major north-south artery in New Jersey. Milepost 18 signifies its exact placement along the Parkway, which is particularly useful for drivers navigating by mile markers. Ocean View is a community within Cape May County, situated close to the Jersey Shore, making this gas station a frequent stop for beachgoers, tourists, and seasonal residents, in addition to everyday commuters.

Being directly on the Garden State Parkway provides unparalleled accessibility. Drivers do not need to exit the highway and navigate local roads, which saves time and reduces potential confusion, especially for those unfamiliar with the area. This "on-highway" convenience is a significant advantage, particularly during peak travel seasons or when drivers are on a tight schedule. The station is designed with clear signage and easy-to-follow lanes to guide vehicles to the pumps, ensuring a smooth flow of traffic even during busy periods. Its location also means it is a logical stop for those heading to or from popular destinations like Cape May, Wildwood, or Ocean City, acting as a gateway or a final stop before reaching their destination. The layout typically allows for quick entry and exit back onto the Parkway, minimizing delays.

However, it's important for travelers to note the operating hours, as highway gas stations, while convenient, may not always be open 24/7. Understanding the closing times, especially late at night, is crucial for planning long journeys to avoid unexpected situations, as some customer experiences suggest that closures at 10:00 PM can impact late-night travelers. Despite this, the inherent accessibility of being directly on the Garden State Parkway at Milepost 18 makes this Sunoco a prime fueling location for a vast number of drivers in South Jersey.

Sunoco Customer Reviews

u never know what someone is going through and it takes absolutely nothing to be kind to people. i'm dumbfounded and disappointed with the way i was just treated at this location - i was on my way home from cape may and had around 10-12 miles left in my car with about 13-15 miles left until i was home. i pull my car into this gas station at 10:04pm at a pump with an attendant in it with the lights on. after a few minutes of waiting, another gentleman walks to my car from inside the building and he says to me "so all the lights are off because we are closed!" with a very nasty condescending tone. "we closed at 10." it was 10:04. i understand being closed but i'm just trying to get home so is the rudeness really necessary? i am currently parked on the parkway with my hazards on waiting for my partner, who is sick and should be resting, to bring me gas in a canister so i can get home. treat people better. even if that attendant was having a bad day there is never an excuse to talk to anyone like that.

This is a rest stop/ gas station on the highway. The only reason this place is so backed up in these photos is because there appears to be only one person pumping gas. It's appalling. There is barely any traffic on the highway. The wait is entirely due to failure of the business.

Was asked to switch pumps which is not an issue since the pumps were all empty. The employee disappeared for over 15 minutes before coming back to pump my gas once I switched pumps. Definitely will not be going back. Waste of time.

Very rude gas attendees that make you wait to even start pumping gas until they are done washing the other cars window. When asked to please pump gas he said No! Well from now on going to get my gas at another Sunoco or ExxonMobil in Cape May Court House. Don't go hear unless you have a long time to wait and like rude gas attendees
