Features / Highlights

Speedway aims to provide a consistent experience across its locations, though individual store management can influence local perceptions. Based on typical Speedway operations and the provided reviews, here are some potential features and aspects to consider:

  • Brand Recognition and Consistency: Speedway is a well-established brand across 22 states, including Pennsylvania. This typically means customers can expect a certain level of consistency in fuel quality and general store layout.

  • Speedy Rewards Loyalty Program: A significant highlight of the Speedway brand is its Speedy Rewards loyalty program. This program allows customers to earn points on fuel and merchandise purchases, which can be redeemed for discounts on fuel or free products. This is a major draw for frequent customers looking to save money.

  • Competitive Fuel Pricing (Generally): Speedway is often cited for its competitive fuel prices, striving to be among the more affordable options in the market. While specific pricing can fluctuate, the brand's strategy often involves attracting customers with good fuel deals.

  • 24/7 Availability: Many Speedway locations, including likely this one, operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This round-the-clock service is a crucial benefit for anyone needing fuel or convenience items at any time of day or night, particularly important for shift workers or late-night travelers in Pennsylvania.

However, it's essential to address some direct customer feedback for this specific location. One review highlighted concerns about "rude and childish people" and an incident involving missing money, raising serious questions about staff conduct and security. Another review described the store as "dirty," with "no food and half the machines are broken," suggesting a decline in cleanliness and operational standards. These reviews indicate that while the brand aims for consistency, individual store management and employee performance can significantly impact the customer experience at this specific Etters location.

Speedway offers several promotions and loyalty programs designed to provide savings and rewards to its customers across Pennsylvania.

  • Speedy Rewards: This is Speedway’s flagship loyalty program. Members earn points on every gallon of fuel and most in-store purchases (excluding certain items like tobacco, alcohol, lottery, and pre-paid cards). These points can then be redeemed for discounts on fuel, free merchandise, or entries into sweepstakes. Members can also choose "Monthly Perks" through the app or website for additional savings.

  • Speedy Rewards Mastercard: For even greater savings, customers can apply for the Speedy Rewards Mastercard, which offers additional points per dollar spent at Speedway and on other purchases, accelerating point accumulation.

  • Clubs: Speedway offers various "Clubs" within the Speedy Rewards program for frequently purchased items like coffee, fountain drinks, and certain packaged beverages or snacks. After a set number of purchases (e.g., buy six, get the seventh free), customers earn a free item or coupon.

  • Grocery Loyalty Partnerships: In Pennsylvania, Speedway partners with various grocery chains, such as Redner's Markets. Customers can link their Redner's Rewards Card to their Speedy Rewards account to redeem points earned at Redner's for gas discounts at Speedway locations. For example, for every $50 spent at Redner's, customers can earn a 5¢/gallon discount on a fill-up, up to 20 gallons. It's crucial to link these cards to take advantage of these significant combined savings.

  • Seasonal and App-Exclusive Offers: Speedway frequently rolls out seasonal promotions, sweepstakes, and app-exclusive deals that provide opportunities for bonus points or special discounts. Checking the Speedy Rewards app is the best way to stay updated on current offers.

Speedway Customer Reviews

If you’d like to deal with the most rude and childish people, go to speedway. I called in about money I was missing from my wallet, and the cashier told me he saw someone pick up the money, walk out and thought it was funny but hoped my day got better…. Seriously!!!! You see someone pick up money like that, and when I call to ask about it you think it’s funny?

It's so weird walking in and seeing a dirty store with no food and half the machines are broken. Even more weird seeing WAAAAAAAY less customers than what I'm used to. Maybe I don't visit the store enough anymore, but it just seems to have gone downhill. Glad I see most of my old regulars, regularly, elsewhere now.

I went there Tuesday after not going there for quite awhile even though I work nearby. Terrible. I bought 2 sodas came to $3.71, I paid with a five, and the cashier looks at me and says "I don't have coins". Now there were no signs posted, and so I just looked at her and asked like not in another register, she said "No! I don't have coins!" So I said so what happens to my change and everyone else who pays cash all day? She said "Oh it goes in a fund". I bet it does! Imagine in just a day how much they rip people off. Never again! 😡

** Update ** This place finally got a makeover, and I think it made it worse. I guess the new thing is to get pumps that won't let you top off your tank, which I kind of understand because it leads to spills with people who don't know what they're doing. The pumps they installed are so sensitive that if you try to adjust the speed at which it's dispensing, it shuts off and will not let you restart. It's happened to me twice now, once on my motorcycle and once in my car. I was trying to fill my empty tank in the car, after 5 gal, it shut off and wouldn't let me restart. I was just trying to adjust it from slow to fast. On the motorcycle, it was the other way around. It was fast and I wanted to slow it down, and after 1 1/2 gal it shut off it wouldn't let me finish filling my 3 gallon tank, I ended up going somewhere else. I won't be returning to this station for fuel. It is just not worth the frustration. Normal gas station. It's is raining and you don't want to get wet, SKIP this place. The roof above the pumps leak and with a slight breeze, lands right at the pumps. Overdue for some upkeep.
