I moved out to Morristown 2 years ago and it was hard to find a good shop. I own severval vehicles and respect the trade and craft of auto mechanics a great deal. Fred and Brian are honest guys and do great work.

Fred Sackman has been in business for 21 years at Sack's Shell and has developed a strong reputation for quality work and honest dealing with long-standing customers that span across Morris, Essex and Bergen Counties. His supporting crew of mechanics, Ralph and Lupe, are also very knowledgeable and helpful, giving a clear transparent look at car troubles and making very practical sensible recommendations. I have personally used Fred for nearly all of my mechanic work for the past 6 years and have been very pleased with his willingness to work with me on higher priced jobs, troubleshoot at minimal-to-no cost and replace warrantied parts at no extra cost when they go. I highly recommend Fred as a long-term top choice when it comes to hard working honest mechanics.

Update - 2022: we still use Saks Shell for our mechanic. 7+ years in and still great. From earlier:Great mechanics. Had been going to dealers for 20 years. Tried a couple other places along the way - none were satisfactory. We have been going here for about 5 years and servicing 3 vehicles (Honda Pilot, Honda Civic, Acura TL). Quality is excellent, pricing is more than fair and these are good people that care about their business and the local town.I have had to bring my vehicles back to the dealers a few times for warranty work and none of those times did the dealer find or indicate that my vehicle was poorly serviced or in need of anything additional that I didn't know about.

They've been servicing my cars for 10 years. Fred is great and has a good team of mechanics. Reasonably priced and honest.
