Our goal is to give you a clear picture of what to expect when you visit this Millersburg Shell, helping you decide if it’s the right stop for your fueling needs and more.

Location and Accessibility

The Shell gas station is situated at 85 1st St, Millersburg, PA 17061, USA. This address places it within the heart of Millersburg, making it a potentially convenient stop for local residents. First Street is a prominent road in the area, contributing to its accessibility for those familiar with the town's layout.

For individuals residing in or around Millersburg, the station’s central location likely allows for quick and easy access for fueling up or grabbing a few essentials. Its position within the local road network suggests it’s designed to serve both the immediate community and possibly those traveling along nearby routes that connect through Millersburg. Clear signage from various approaches is typically a feature of such establishments, aiding in easy navigation to the pumps and any on-site facilities.

Services Offered

As a Shell-branded gas station, the location at 85 1st St in Millersburg, PA, would traditionally offer a range of services designed to meet the needs of motorists. While specific operational status can vary, a typical Shell station provides the following:

  • Fuel Options: Expect a selection of Shell's quality fuels, which generally include various grades like regular unleaded, mid-grade, and Shell V-Power NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline. These options allow drivers to choose the appropriate fuel for their vehicle's requirements.
  • Convenience Store (C-Store): Most gas stations, including Shell, feature a convenience store where customers can purchase snacks, beverages, tobacco products, and other essential items for their journey or daily needs.
  • Car Wash: Many Shell locations offer car wash facilities, ranging from automated bays to self-serve options. These allow customers to clean their vehicles conveniently while refueling.
  • Acceptance of Payment Methods: Standard payment methods like major credit cards are typically accepted for fuel and in-store purchases. Loyalty programs, such as Shell's Fuel Rewards, are also often supported to provide discounts on fuel.

However, based on recent customer feedback, it's important to note potential current limitations at this specific location:

  • Car Wash Status: According to recent reviews, all car washes at this location appear to be out of order. This indicates that while car wash facilities might be present, they are currently not functional for customer use.
  • Payment System Functionality: Some customers have reported issues with card readers and Shell Rewards programs rarely working at the pumps. This could impact the convenience of transactions and the ability to redeem loyalty discounts.

Given this feedback, it’s advisable for potential customers to be aware of these reported service limitations before planning their visit, especially if a working car wash or seamless payment at the pump is a priority.

Features / Highlights

The Shell station at 85 1st St in Millersburg, PA, presents itself as a standard local gas station, though recent customer feedback highlights some significant changes and operational issues that impact its features and overall customer experience. Here’s a look at what it offers, juxtaposed with reported conditions:

  • Shell Branded Fuel: As a Shell station, it provides access to Shell’s range of fuel products, including their premium V-Power NiTRO+ gasoline, known for its cleaning properties. This remains a core feature for drivers looking for specific fuel quality.
  • On-Site Convenience Store: A typical feature of gas stations, the convenience store here would normally offer quick access to snacks, drinks, and other immediate needs. However, customer reviews suggest a shift in its offerings and atmosphere.
  • Potential for Car Wash Services (Currently Unavailable): While the presence of three car wash bays indicates an intended service, a significant highlight from customer reviews is that all three are currently out of order and have been for some time. This means a key convenience feature is not functional.
  • Payment at the Pump (with Reported Issues): The station should theoretically offer the ease of paying at the pump using card readers and Shell Rewards. However, recurring feedback indicates that card readers and the Shell Rewards program frequently do not work, which can be a significant inconvenience for customers expecting quick transactions.
  • Reported Operational Changes: Recent reviews strongly suggest a change in ownership and a subsequent decline in the station's operational quality and customer service. Comments highlight a loss of "friendly workers" and a transformation into what is described as "another smoke shop with gambling machines and the lowlifes that drags in." This implies a significant shift in the station’s environment and target clientele.
  • Reported Closure and Non-functional Pumps: One critical review explicitly states, "CLOSED. And the pumps were off." This raises serious concerns about the station’s current operational status. If the pumps are indeed off and the station is closed, it fundamentally impacts its ability to serve customers.

In summary, while the station carries the Shell brand and its associated fuel quality, recent customer experiences point to significant issues with key services like car washes and pump payment systems, as well as a concerning change in its overall atmosphere and operational status, with one review even indicating a full closure.

Promotions or Special Offers

Typically, Shell gas stations participate in various promotions and loyalty programs designed to offer savings on fuel and in-store purchases. These commonly include:

  • Fuel Rewards® Program: This is Shell's primary loyalty program, allowing members to earn cents-per-gallon discounts on fuel by purchasing everyday items at participating grocery stores, dining establishments, or online retailers. Members can link their existing loyalty cards to the Fuel Rewards account and redeem savings directly at the pump.
  • Shell | Fuel Rewards® Credit Card: Cardholders often receive exclusive, enhanced discounts on fuel purchases at Shell stations, such as a base discount per gallon on every fill-up, with additional introductory offers for new applicants.
  • Seasonal and Regional Promotions: Shell frequently runs time-limited promotions, which can include additional savings on specific fuel grades, special offers when purchasing certain items in the convenience store, or bonus rewards points.

However, it is crucial to consider recent customer feedback regarding the 85 1st St location in Millersburg, PA. Reports of "card readers and shell rewards rarely work at the pumps" suggest that even if promotions are technically available through the Fuel Rewards program, the ability to redeem them seamlessly at this specific station might be severely hampered. Furthermore, if the station is indeed "CLOSED" and "the pumps were off" as indicated by one review, then any promotions would, of course, be irrelevant until its operational status changes.

Given these reports, it would be advisable for potential customers to verify the current operational status of the pumps and the functionality of payment and rewards systems before relying on any advertised promotions at this location.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

When considering a local gas station, residents of Millersburg, PA, typically look for convenience, reliability, and a good range of services. A Shell station, by brand, usually promises a consistent supply of quality fuel and access to convenience store items, making it a potentially suitable stop for everyday needs.

The location of the Shell station at 85 1st St in Millersburg is geographically convenient for locals, situated on a prominent street. In an ideal scenario, this would mean easy access for commuters, those running errands, or anyone needing a quick fill-up or a snack. Traditionally, a station like this would also offer the benefit of loyalty programs, such as Shell's Fuel Rewards, allowing customers to save on fuel, which is a valuable perk in any community.

However, it is crucial for locals to be aware of significant concerns raised by recent customer reviews. Reports of all three car washes being out of order for an extended period mean a key convenience service is unavailable. More critically, feedback indicating that card readers and Shell Rewards rarely work at the pumps could lead to frustrating payment experiences and an inability to utilize loyalty discounts effectively. The most pressing concern for suitability, however, comes from a review explicitly stating "CLOSED. And the pumps were off," suggesting the station might not even be operational. Other comments about a decline in service, a change in atmosphere, and the departure of "friendly workers" also detract from what would typically make a local business suitable and welcoming.

Therefore, while the Shell brand and its location in Millersburg present potential for suitability, the current anecdotal evidence from customers points to significant challenges. For local users in Pennsylvania considering this Shell station, it would be highly advisable to verify its operational status and the functionality of its services, particularly the pumps and car wash, before planning a visit. A quick phone call using the provided contact information could save you a wasted trip and help you determine if this location currently meets your needs for fuel and convenience.

Shell Customer Reviews

All 3 car washes are out of order, looks like they have been for awhile. Card readers and shell rewards rarely work at the pumps. Friendly workers are all gone and it's just turned into another smoke shop with gambling machines and the lowlifes that drags in. It's amazing how quickly that place went down hill after it changed ownership.

CLOSED. And the pumps were off. Screw your customer service attempt. You already failed. Fix your Google Presentation. You were right here and you chose to attempt to appease me instead of bring in a functional solution. How dumb are you? Baited.

Good gas station except for the bathroom and floors. Shell used to be a very nice and clean gas station before the new owners took over. The bathroom looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in months. There was human feces still in the toilet not flushed, mud all over the sink, mirror, and walls and a cockroach in the toilet. It was so unsanitary to the point I was so disgusted to use the toilet.

I prefer to use Shell gasoline in my cars, since it’s recommended by the manufacturer, but I can’t help but notice how run down, dirty and poorly this business has been maintained over the past several years. Even the gas pumps and area around them are a mess. And, yes, the decline clearly aligns with the change of ownership. To Shell, there was a time when you could be proud to have your brand on this business, but that’s not the case any longer. You should take a closer look.

Paid $12 for the ultimate wash and this is how it came out. Tried to talk to the workers inside and ended up getting a free wash to run it through again instead of getting money refunded. Easily the worst wash I have ever seen.
