Giant Gasoline Introduce
For many drivers across Pennsylvania, a gas station is more than just a place to fill up; it's often an extension of their daily shopping routines, particularly when linked to grocery rewards. In New Cumberland, the Giant Gasoline station at 110 Old York Rd stands as a prime example of this integration. As a fuel station associated with Giant Food Stores, it offers a compelling incentive for shoppers: the ability to save on gas through loyalty points earned on groceries. This concept is highly valued by many Pennsylvanians who look for ways to maximize their savings on essential purchases.
However, like any busy hub, this particular Giant Gasoline location has its unique characteristics, some of which present challenges for local users. While the allure of "gas points" is a significant draw, customers have noted that "getting in and out of this place is ridiculous! It's like a freaking maze one way in one way or and it's at a major intersection on a main busy road." This highlights a trade-off between the valuable savings and the practical navigation of the site. Furthermore, a serious concern regarding payment security at the pumps has been raised in one review, advising caution. This article aims to provide a comprehensive and factual overview of Giant Gasoline in New Cumberland, balancing its benefits with candid customer feedback to help local users make informed decisions about their fueling stops.
Giant Gasoline is located at 110 Old York Rd, New Cumberland, PA 17070, USA. This address places it at a prominent and often busy intersection within the New Cumberland area. Old York Road (also known as PA Route 114) is a significant thoroughfare, connecting various residential and commercial areas and serving as a key route for traffic moving through Cumberland County. The gas station's proximity to a major Giant Food Store (likely the one at 130 Old York Rd, based on publicly available information) is a crucial aspect of its location, as it’s designed to serve the grocery store’s clientele.
While the location offers convenient access for shoppers already visiting the adjacent Giant Food Store, its placement at a "major intersection on a main busy road" has led to specific accessibility challenges, as noted by customers. Reviews indicate that "getting in and out of this place is ridiculous! It's like a freaking maze one way in one way or." This suggests that while physically accessible, the traffic flow and site design can make navigation tricky, especially during peak hours. For Pennsylvanians who prioritize quick and easy stops, this aspect requires careful consideration. Drivers accustomed to the area or those who plan their entry and exit carefully may find it manageable, but new visitors might experience some initial difficulty. Despite these challenges, its integration with the Giant supermarket makes it a practical stop for many local shoppers looking to redeem their gas rewards.
Giant Gasoline in New Cumberland, PA, primarily offers fueling services, deeply integrated with the Giant Food Stores loyalty program. While it might not have an extensive convenience store on par with standalone gas stations, its core offerings are focused on providing fuel and leveraging the grocery store's ecosystem:
- Fuel Sales: The primary service is dispensing gasoline (various grades) and likely diesel fuel for a wide range of vehicles. As a Giant-branded station, it provides fuel that is competitive in pricing, especially when considering the rewards program.
- Giant Flexible Rewards® Redemption: This is the most significant service offered. Customers can redeem points earned from their grocery purchases at Giant Food Stores for discounts on fuel. For every 100 points earned, customers can typically save 10¢ per gallon, with potential for greater savings depending on promotions. This feature is a major draw for many Pennsylvanians.
- Accepts Credit/Debit Cards: Standard payment methods are accepted at the pump. However, it is crucial to note the customer warning: "Do not use your credit/debit card at the pump! They have a system in place that will try and take all your money in your account!" This serious concern advises customers to exercise caution when paying directly at the pump and possibly to pay inside the associated grocery store if that option is available.
- EZPass: Public information indicates that EZPass is accepted here, providing a convenient payment option for tolls and potentially other services where EZPass is integrated.
- Lottery: Like many gas stations, lottery ticket sales are likely available, offering another quick-stop convenience.
The main value proposition of Giant Gasoline lies in its fuel rewards program, which directly links grocery shopping with savings at the pump, making it an attractive option for Giant Food Stores loyal customers.
Giant Gasoline in New Cumberland, PA, presents a mix of appealing features and notable challenges, as highlighted by customer experiences:
- Valuable Gas Points Program: The most significant highlight is the ability to earn and redeem "gas points" from Giant Food Stores purchases. Customers "love this idea" as it offers substantial savings on fuel, often being the primary reason they choose this station. For every $100 spent on groceries (100 points), customers typically save 10¢ per gallon, with potential for further stacking rewards from various promotions. This system can lead to substantial discounts, even allowing for "free gas" under certain conditions (e.g., if enough points accumulate to reduce the per-gallon price to zero for up to 25 gallons).
- Competitive Fuel Pricing (with Rewards): While one review noted "gas price was a bit high" at one time, the general sentiment, when factoring in the loyalty program, is that it offers "some of the lowest gas station prices around." This suggests that for those actively participating in the Giant Flexible Rewards program, the overall cost of fuel becomes highly competitive.
However, it is imperative to address the significant challenges noted by customers, which act as critical factors for local users:
- Challenging Ingress/Egress: A consistent complaint is the difficulty of navigating the station. "Getting in and out of this place is ridiculous! It's like a freaking maze one way in one way or and it's at a major intersection on a main busy road." This design flaw can lead to frustration and potential traffic issues, detracting from an otherwise convenient location.
- Serious Payment Security Concern: A highly critical highlight (or rather, a warning) is the review stating, "SCAMMERS!!! Do not use your credit/debit card at the pump! They have a system in place that will try and take all your money in your account!" and "If you ask customer service to help they will just blame you." While this is a single, severe accusation, it raises a significant red flag regarding payment security at the pump and customer support for such issues. Potential customers should be aware of this reported problem and consider alternative payment methods or locations if they have concerns.
These points create a complex picture for Giant Gasoline: a highly attractive rewards program juxtaposed with significant operational and reported security concerns.
Giant Gasoline's primary and most compelling promotion is its integration with the Giant Flexible Rewards® program, which allows customers to earn significant discounts on fuel based on their grocery purchases at Giant Food Stores. This program is highly popular across Pennsylvania for its value proposition:
- Giant Flexible Rewards® for Fuel:
- Earning Points: Customers earn points for every dollar spent on eligible purchases at Giant Food Stores. Typically, 1 point is earned for every $1 spent.
- Redeeming Savings: For every 100 points accumulated, customers receive a 10¢ per gallon discount on fuel, up to a maximum of 35 gallons per fill-up. There is generally no limit to the amount of gas rewards that can be earned.
- Stackable Savings: These points can be combined, allowing for substantial savings. For instance, 1000 points translate to $1.00 off per gallon. Some promotions even allow customers to achieve "free gas" (where the per-gallon price is reduced to zero) by accumulating enough points, often with a maximum fill-up of 25 gallons for this specific zero-cost redemption.
- Gift Card Multipliers: Giant frequently offers promotions where purchasing specific gift cards (e.g., Home Depot, Vanilla Visa) earns accelerated points (e.g., 2x, 3x, or even 10x points), significantly boosting fuel savings.
- Point Expiration: Points typically expire 30 days from the day they are earned, so customers need to plan their redemptions.
- Pharmacy Rewards: Purchases at Giant pharmacies also contribute to Flexible Rewards points, further increasing fuel savings.
- Online Shopping Points: Points can also be earned through online grocery orders via Peapod (if applicable to the Giant region).
These rewards are a major incentive, allowing Pennsylvanians to significantly reduce their fuel costs. Customers should ensure their Giant Card is registered and linked to their Giant Flexible Rewards account to participate. For the most current and specific promotions, including gift card multipliers and seasonal offers, it's always best to check the Giant Food Stores weekly circular, their official website, or the Giant mobile app.

For the residents of New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding areas, Giant Gasoline at 110 Old York Rd presents a unique and, for many, suitable option for their fueling needs, primarily due to its integration with the highly valued Giant Flexible Rewards program. This symbiotic relationship between grocery shopping and fuel discounts is a powerful incentive, allowing Pennsylvanians to effectively manage their household budgets and reduce overall expenses on two critical necessities.
Despite the noted challenges with the "ridiculous" ingress and egress at a busy intersection, and the serious concern raised about payment security at the pumps, the allure of the gas points often outweighs these inconveniences for loyal Giant shoppers. Many customers are willing to navigate the layout challenges because the financial savings are so compelling. For these individuals, Giant Gasoline is not just another gas station; it's an integral part of their savings strategy. While caution is advised regarding payment methods based on the customer review (perhaps opting to pay inside if that option exists or using cash), the core benefit of discounted fuel makes this location a practical and often preferred choice for locals looking to maximize their rewards and save money on their daily commutes and errands in New Cumberland, PA.

Love this idea, however getting in and out of this place is ridiculous! It's like a freaking maze one way in one way or and it's at a major intersection on a main busy road. If it weren't for gas points I would never go here

It is a slight pain to get to since you need to drive through the Giant parking lot. It usually isn't to busy, so that is nice. Even without the gas points it has competitive pricing.
