This article will delve into what makes this particular gas station a suitable option for those in the Connecticut region, covering its location, the services it provides, unique features, and how you can potentially save money on your fuel purchases.

Location and Accessibility

The Gas Station - Stop and Shop is strategically located at 155 Boston Post Rd, Waterford, CT 06385, USA. This address places it along a major thoroughfare, the Boston Post Road (Route 1), which is a vital artery for local and regional traffic in Connecticut. Its presence on such a prominent road ensures easy access whether you're commuting to work, running errands, or simply passing through Waterford.

Being situated in Waterford, the gas station is well-positioned for residents of this town and surrounding communities. For instance, it’s directly opposite the Town Hall and Waterford High School, making it a convenient stop for parents picking up kids or individuals handling local government matters. Its proximity to Interstate 95, a major north-south highway, means that drivers traveling between New Haven and Providence, or even further afield, can easily exit, refuel, and get back on their way without significant detours. Furthermore, its placement aims to cater to customers of the nearby Stop & Shop grocery store, allowing for a combined stop for groceries and fuel.

Services Offered

While primarily a gas station, the Stop and Shop location provides essential services focused on making your fuel stop as efficient as possible. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Fuel Sales: Offering various grades of gasoline to meet the needs of different vehicles.
  • Payment Options: Accepts common payment methods, including credit cards, for quick and easy transactions.
  • Loyalty Program Redemption: Integrates with the Stop & Shop loyalty program, allowing you to redeem earned fuel points for discounts directly at the pump.
  • Restrooms: While specific details aren't always publicly listed for standalone gas kiosks, Stop & Shop locations typically aim to provide customer amenities, and it's generally expected to have access to restrooms on-site or within the nearby supermarket.

Features / Highlights

Beyond the basic services, the Gas Station - Stop and Shop in Waterford offers features that enhance the overall customer experience:

  • Integration with Stop & Shop Supermarket: A significant highlight is its direct association with the Stop & Shop supermarket. This allows for the convenience of combining grocery shopping with fueling up, making it a true one-stop shop for many errands.
  • Staff and Service: Customer reviews often commend the "Great Staff" at this location, indicating a friendly and helpful team dedicated to serving customers efficiently. This can make a notable difference in the overall experience.
  • Strategic Location: Its position on Boston Post Road ensures high visibility and easy access, reducing travel time for those on their daily routes.
  • Well-Maintained Facility: While specific details about the physical appearance of the gas station kiosk are not extensively publicized, Stop & Shop maintains a general standard of cleanliness and operational efficiency across its properties. One customer review suggests a potential area for improvement regarding employee comfort with the transaction window during cold months, hinting at the current setup.

Promotions or Special Offers

One of the most attractive aspects of fueling up at the Gas Station - Stop and Shop is the opportunity to save money through their GO Rewards program, often referred to as Gas Rewards. This program allows you to earn points on eligible purchases made at Stop & Shop supermarkets, which can then be redeemed for discounts on fuel at this gas station and participating Shell stations. Here's how it generally works:

  • Earning Points: You typically earn 1 point for every dollar spent on qualifying purchases in-store or online at Stop & Shop.
  • Redeeming Savings: For every 100 points accumulated, you generally receive 10 cents off per gallon of fuel. These savings can stack, allowing for significant discounts.
  • Flexibility: Points are typically valid for 30 days from the date of purchase, providing a good window to redeem your savings. The maximum redemption in a single fill-up is usually capped (e.g., $1.50 per gallon or 1500 points), and there's often a maximum gallon limit per vehicle per fill-up (e.g., 35 gallons).
  • Linking Accounts: You can often link your Stop & Shop GO Rewards account with the Shell Fuel Rewards program for even greater savings, combining discounts from both. New Fuel Rewards members may also receive introductory savings.

While one customer review noted that they sometimes find better prices elsewhere without being a member, the Gas Rewards program offers a clear benefit for frequent Stop & Shop shoppers. The savings add up, especially if you regularly purchase groceries at their supermarket. It’s important to note that specific promotions and terms can vary, so checking the latest offers on the Stop & Shop website or app is always recommended.

Great Staff.... Maybe Get A Better Slot or Transaction Window For Employees. Staff Always Looks Cold In The Cold Months. Maybe One Similar To East Lyme S & S Gas Station Kiosk...

Truthfully I get a better price somewhere else without being a member. Sometimes 50 cents shearer. Being a member you barely save anything. It's just a con to get you to spend money there.. sadly some of these places charge you a fee to be a member. For what. You ain't saying barely anything. No thank you

Helpful staff, well lit, clean. Stop & Shop gas charges the same price for cash or credit. It is generally less expensive than other stations nearby. Easy pull in, several pumps, well lit. The air is FREE in Connecticut but the pump here is not so good. Remember: in CONNECTICUT, most gas stations will charge more for gas if you use a credit card. AIR IS FREE by law; if you ask to have the pump turned on, they must do so.

Such terrible service that I have to leave a review - which I never do. The attendant on shift at around 2:00 on Labor Day, 2020 was incredibly rude. My pump was not working so I asked her for assistance, and instead of coming out to help me out she accused me of intentionally trying to jam the pump without any basis in such an accusation. She just didn’t want to be bothered. I ended just leaving and using a different gas station.

Convenient to get in and out and centrally located. The new gas rewards in Go Points are much less convenient and less accessible to use.
