Citgo Introduce

Whether you're a lifelong New Yorker or just passing through our beautiful state, you know the importance of a reliable and convenient stop when you're on the road. In the picturesque town of Inlet, nestled within the stunning Adirondack region, one name often comes to mind for those essential travel needs: Citgo. This local gas station isn't just a place to fill up your tank; it's a pivotal point for many, offering a quick and accessible spot for travelers and residents alike.

From road trips through the mountains to daily commutes, having a dependable gas station can make all the difference. Citgo in Inlet stands as a beacon for those needing to refuel, grab a quick snack, or simply stretch their legs. While every stop has its unique quirks, understanding what this particular Citgo offers can help you plan your journey more effectively.

Location and Accessibility

The Citgo gas station is conveniently located at 254 NY-28, Inlet, NY 13360, USA. This address places it directly on State Route 28, a significant thoroughfare that winds through the Adirondacks. For anyone navigating this scenic region, its location on a primary route makes it highly accessible. Whether you're heading north towards Old Forge and beyond, or south into the heart of the Adirondack Park, you'll find Citgo right there, ready to serve.

While the location on a main road is a definite plus for accessibility, it's worth noting some aspects regarding its layout. Based on customer feedback, those with larger vehicles, such as campers, might find maneuvering in the parking lot a bit challenging due to its size and the presence of a hill. It seems turning around with a big rig could be awkward, so planning your approach, especially with a larger unit, could be beneficial. For most standard cars and trucks, however, access to the pumps and the store should be straightforward.

Services Offered

Like many gas stations, Citgo in Inlet provides a range of services designed to meet immediate needs for drivers and travelers. While specific details on every single offering aren't widely published, based on the typical operations of a Citgo station and common customer expectations, you can generally anticipate the following:

  • Fuel Sales: Of course, the primary service is providing various grades of gasoline to keep you on the move.
  • Convenience Store Items: Most Citgo locations feature a convenience store where you can purchase snacks, beverages, and other common travel necessities. This is usually where you'd grab a cold drink, a quick bite, or perhaps some last-minute road trip essentials.
  • Automotive Essentials: Often, these stores carry basic automotive supplies like oil, wiper fluid, or a tire pressure gauge.

It's important to set realistic expectations for services beyond fuel. For instance, based on customer reviews, this particular Citgo location does not offer public restrooms. This is a critical piece of information for anyone planning a stop, especially on longer journeys. If you're counting on a restroom break, it would be wise to factor in alternatives like local beaches or other businesses further down the road, as some customers have had to adjust their plans accordingly.

Features / Highlights

Every local business has its own set of features that make it stand out. For the Citgo in Inlet, some key aspects include:

  • Strategic Location on NY-28: Its placement on a major state route makes it an easily identifiable and accessible stop for anyone traveling through the Adirondacks.
  • Brand Recognition: As part of the Citgo network, customers can generally expect the reliability and quality associated with a well-known fuel brand.
  • Quick Stop Potential: For those simply needing to refuel and get back on the road, its design allows for a relatively quick in-and-out experience.

However, it's also important to be aware of certain features that may impact your visit. As mentioned, the limited parking space, particularly for larger vehicles, is a consideration. Additionally, the lack of public restrooms is a notable feature that sets this location apart from some other gas stations that typically offer this amenity. Being prepared for these specific conditions will help ensure a smoother stop.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

For residents and frequent visitors to the Inlet area, the Citgo gas station at 254 NY-28 serves as a fundamental and reliable local resource. Its primary suitability lies in its consistent availability of fuel, which is crucial in a region where gas stations can be less frequent than in more urbanized areas. When you're living or spending time in the Adirondacks, knowing there's a convenient spot to fill up without venturing too far is a significant advantage.

While it may have certain limitations, such as the absence of public restrooms and potentially challenging parking for larger vehicles, these are factors that locals often learn to navigate or plan around. For many, the ability to quickly get gas and perhaps a quick snack outweighs these considerations, especially if they are already familiar with the area and alternative options for other amenities. It's a no-frills, practical stop that fulfills a core need for the community and those passing through, making it an integral part of the local infrastructure in Inlet.

Citgo Customer Reviews

Had to pee after like 50 miles of no gas stations. I seen it, was happy. I stopped. I went in to seek out a bathroom. Just to be left with a sign on closets on the back telling me they don't have public restrooms, If you want one, go the beach or someplace else... I asked, No bathrooms? Some woman sitting waiting behind the counter said, "Didn't it hit you in the face when you came in the store?" I said, "Honestly, I didn't even look"... Thank you... I was planning on buying a couple of drinks and some food, but waited another half hour or so until I got to Old Forge... They were happy to oblige at Fastrac... just saying... I'll never stop here again.

I never bring the camper here as I think getting out would be a little awkward with the hill right here and smaller parking lot. Certainly no room to turn around with a larger unit, if you had to for whatever reason.

The experience here was awful! They have an air station for your vehicle that takes your money and they tell you to call the number on the box for a refund! Completely unprofessional. Not to mention that they gouge you for the gas and everything else they sell...

Has gas and beer, but no bathroom for a 6 year old in serious need. Maybe buy your gas somewhere with a heart….
