Services Offered

A typical Citgo Gas & Food Mart, especially in New Jersey, offers a combination of fuel services and convenience store amenities. While specific details for this exact location's full range of services are based on general expectations for such establishments, you can anticipate the following:

  • Automotive Fuel: The primary service, offering various grades of gasoline (e.g., regular, mid-grade, premium) to meet different vehicle requirements. In New Jersey, this is provided with full-service pumping by an attendant.
  • Convenience Store Items: A typical food mart section will stock a range of essentials for on-the-go needs, including:
    • Snacks: Chips, candy, chocolates, cookies, and other quick bites.
    • Beverages: Sodas, bottled water, juices, energy drinks, and often coffee.
    • Tobacco Products: Cigarettes, cigars, and other tobacco items (age restrictions apply).
    • Basic Groceries: A limited selection of pantry staples, sometimes including milk, bread, or canned goods for last-minute needs.
    • Automotive Essentials: Windshield washer fluid, oil, air fresheners, and other small car-related items.
    • Health & Beauty Aides: Over-the-counter medications, personal hygiene products, etc.
  • Lottery Tickets: Many convenience stores, including those at gas stations, offer state lottery tickets for those feeling lucky.
  • ATM Services: An Automated Teller Machine for quick cash withdrawals.
  • Restrooms: Public restrooms are typically available for customer convenience.

It's important to note that customer reviews indicate potential issues with the consistency of the full-service fueling experience, specifically regarding attendants' attention to fully filling tanks. This suggests that while full service is offered, customers might need to communicate clearly with the attendant to ensure their tank is filled to their satisfaction.

Features / Highlights

Beyond the basic services, gas stations and food marts often have features that enhance the customer experience. For Citgo Gas & Food Mart, the highlights generally include:

  • Full-Service Fueling: As mandated by New Jersey law, customers do not have to pump their own gas. This is a significant convenience for many, especially during inclement weather or when in a hurry.
  • Accessibility to Daily Essentials: The attached food mart ensures that drivers can grab not just fuel, but also quick snacks, drinks, and other convenience items, saving them an extra stop at a separate store.
  • Brand Recognition: Being a Citgo branded station, there's an expectation of certain fuel quality and standards associated with a national brand.
  • Local Presence: As a local establishment, it serves the immediate needs of the Bridgeton community, contributing to the local infrastructure.

However, it is crucial for potential customers to be aware of feedback regarding service consistency. Several reviews mention issues with attendants being distracted (e.g., on the phone) or not fully filling tanks, leading to frustration for some patrons. Another review highlights attendants appearing confused or unresponsive. This suggests that while the full-service aspect is a feature, the execution of this service might vary. Customers who prioritize quick and seamless fill-ups might want to consider these points, and potentially explore alternative payment methods or clearly communicate their fueling preferences.

Citgo Gas & Food Mart Customer Reviews

I can’t speak about the inside because I’ve never been in there but I wouldn’t recommend getting gas from here. I asked for it to be filled up and the guy filling it up is having a conversation on his phone the whole time abruptly stops the pump on his own, then proceeds to add a little bit at a time while still talking on the phone. I finally told him take it out and left with 3/4 tank full because of his ignorance to just let it stop on its own. This is not the first time or first person working there I had an issue with. Another guy who didn’t talk on his phone and didn’t speak a word of English would do the same thing and I would try to ask him to leave it alone and he wouldn’t. This guy would also try to talk to me and all I could keep repeating is I have no idea what you are trying to say. I like to pay the best price for gas because to me gas is gas but I will either go to the wawa across the street or about a mile south down the road from this place to the US gas on 77 to pay 4 cents more per gallon before going here again.

One employee working in this place. Don't speak any English, and can't even print a lottery ticket. Plenty of Crackpipes on display though.. Why do you buy these businesses, and run them into the ground?
