Amera Introduce

For drivers across the Garden State, a gas station is often more than just a place to fill up; it's a vital part of daily life and vehicle maintenance. In New Jersey, our unique full-service fueling law means you stay comfortably in your car while a professional attendant handles the pump. Amera, located at 1100 Cooper St in Deptford, NJ, appears to embrace this tradition while also offering an additional, crucial service: an on-site auto repair shop. This dual offering aims to make Amera a convenient, one-stop destination for both your fueling needs and essential vehicle maintenance in the bustling Deptford area.

New Jersey’s distinct full-service gas station law, enacted in 1949, sets it apart from almost every other state. This regulation, the Retail Gasoline Dispensing Safety Act, mandates that all gasoline be dispensed by an attendant, citing safety reasons and ensuring jobs. For many New Jerseyans, this is a cherished convenience, especially during inclement weather or when simply in a hurry. Amera, as a local gas station, operates within this framework, providing the expected full-service experience. What makes Amera particularly noteworthy, however, is the integration of an automotive repair service. This allows customers to potentially address minor maintenance needs or even more significant repairs without having to make a separate trip, adding a significant layer of convenience that is highly valued by busy New Jersey drivers.

Location and Accessibility

Amera is strategically located at 1100 Cooper St, Deptford, NJ 08096, USA. Cooper Street is a well-known artery in Deptford, connecting residential areas with commercial zones and providing access to larger regional routes. This prime location makes Amera highly accessible for local residents of Deptford, as well as those commuting through the area. Its position on a main road ensures easy entry and exit, which is crucial for both gas station and auto repair services. Whether you're heading to work, running errands in Gloucester County, or traveling between local towns, Amera offers a convenient and straightforward stop for your vehicle's needs. The visibility and easy access contribute to a smooth and efficient experience for customers seeking either fuel or repair services.

Services Offered

Amera appears to operate as a dual-purpose facility, offering both gas station services and automotive repair.

  • Full-Service Fueling: In adherence to New Jersey state law, attendants at Amera will pump your chosen grade of gasoline (typically Regular, Mid-grade, Premium, and potentially Diesel). This allows you to remain comfortably in your vehicle, a significant convenience appreciated by New Jersey drivers.
  • Auto Repair Shop: This is a key distinguishing service. Amera operates a mechanic shop that provides various automotive repair and maintenance services. Based on customer reviews, these services include:
    • Brake and Rotor Replacement: Customers have reported having front brakes and rotors replaced.
    • Tire Services: This includes changing tires.
    • General Car Maintenance and Repairs: While specific services beyond brakes and tires aren't detailed in reviews, a mechanic shop typically offers oil changes, fluid checks, diagnostic services, and other common repairs.
  • Convenience Store (Likely): While not explicitly detailed, most modern gas stations include a convenience store with snacks, beverages, and basic automotive essentials. Customers would need to visit the location to confirm the extent of their convenience store offerings.
  • Restroom Facilities: Accessible restrooms are generally available for customer use.

Features / Highlights

Amera's unique combination of services and customer experiences offer several highlights:

  • New Jersey's Full-Service Convenience: The mandatory full-service fueling experience is a core highlight, offering unparalleled comfort and efficiency for drivers in all weather conditions.
  • Integrated Auto Repair: The most significant feature is the on-site mechanic shop. This allows customers to combine their fueling stop with necessary vehicle maintenance or repairs, saving time and the hassle of visiting multiple locations.
  • Competitive Pricing for Repairs: One customer highlighted that the mechanic quoted a "very happy" price of $325 for front brakes, rotors, and labor, contrasting it with another shop that quoted $900 for the same work. This suggests a focus on providing value for repair services.
  • Direct Mechanic Interaction: Customers interact directly with the mechanic, which can lead to clear communication regarding work and pricing.

However, it's crucial to acknowledge that customer experiences, particularly with the repair shop, can be inconsistent. While one review praises the brake service, another describes a negative experience with tire work, including a sudden price increase and a "bad" tire outcome. This inconsistency is a point for potential customers to consider, suggesting that while good service can be found, it might not be uniform across all types of repairs or all interactions. Businesses strive for consistent quality, and such feedback indicates areas for potential improvement.

Promotions or Special Offers

As a local gas station with an integrated mechanic shop, Amera may offer various promotions, though specific details are not publicly available. Common types of offers include:

  • Mechanic Service Discounts: Promotions on specific repair services, such as a percentage off brake jobs, tire rotations, or oil changes, especially for first-time customers or during certain seasons.
  • Bundle Deals: Discounts when combining services, for example, a free tire rotation with a certain level of maintenance.
  • Cash Discounts for Fuel: Many New Jersey gas stations offer a slightly lower price per gallon for customers paying with cash.
  • Loyalty Programs: While not explicitly stated, some independent stations or repair shops may offer loyalty cards or programs that reward frequent customers with discounts or free services over time.

To find out about current promotions for both fuel and auto repair services at Amera, it is always recommended to inquire directly at the station or speak with the mechanic shop staff during your visit.

I had my front brakes done on my 2014vw Jetta the mechanic quoted me 325 for brakes rotors and the labor, which was the final price. Meinkee wanted 900 to do the same work. I'm very happy with what I had done and will bring my car back again to do the rears.....

First time I came here to do tire work, the guy first told me it was going to be $70 to change 2 tires that I brought in myself and then he went up to $80 out of nowhere. One of tires came out bad, and he still wanted charge me $80 for just the one tire he changed. NEVER coming back here again. Stay away from this place.

I’m so upset I literally cried I’m so tired of mechanics taking advantage of us that don’t know about cars I literally said to the man “hey I don’t know if I need a tune up but my steering wheel is shaking “ he drove my car then called his boss and they just assumed it was a tune up my car was still shaking after the repair so I went back the same day and said hey my car only have 53000 miles my car shouldn’t need a tuna up but y’all gave me one anyways knowing I needed something else done I was told by other mechanics that it sound like a wheel alignment he going to say we did your tune up charged me 180 dollars for something I didn’t need done and all I got was you won’t need a tune up for a while like what I could had waited on a tune up and got what I needed done fix this is crazy and ver unfair to me but of course nothing just many taking for something I didn’t need done but if you don’t know about cars I would be extra careful I even ask was it a corporate number he said no I’m the owner so yea not a good

This place is not the place to go. I will never waste my money here anymore. Issues got worse going here. Every auto body shop I’ve seen after to diagnose issues have asked me where did you get the engine from because it looks like they gave you a bad engine. Had to put in more money to get things fixed that are involved with engine. This place no good man. Also I had to keep reaching out to him when he had my car, if not I would wait days just to hear from him.

It's a gas station. Prices are usually good, never been ripped off here. It's a little small so you may have to wait a few minutes for a pump but it is easy to get in and out of. Friendly people work there. So there is that.
