Shell Carwash Customer Reviews

The gas prices here are about standard for the area. I want to explain the car wash process in detail for anyone like me who is anxious about this kind of thing. There is a lane that snakes around to the car wash in the back. You cannot really get back out once you go in without going through the car wash, so make sure you’re ready! There are signs telling you to pay inside or at the pump when you gas up before you enter the car wash lane, and there are signs with instructions for the safety of your car (remove or collapse your antenna, fold in your mirrors, make sure the bed is empty if you drive a pickup, etc). They have a few wash options ranging in price from around $8-16, give or take a few dollars. Once you enter the car wash lane, it curves around and takes you to a machine where you can input the number that is printed on your receipt. Then you have to drive onto the track. There is a mirror to help you see your tires so you can line them up properly. Once you’re on the track, you put your car in neutral and push the green button to start the wash. It tells you to not touch your steering wheel or anything else after you’ve put your car in neutral. The track takes your car into the wash. Your steering wheel might turn on its own - that startled and scared me but I guess it’s normal because nothing bad happened! So don’t worry and don’t touch the steering wheel. The wash is over very fast. Maybe a minute or so? It’s a quick wash. It can be a little bumpy and shaky. It’s okay, that is normal. You don’t do anything at all until the very end when you’re out of the wash. You can pull up a little bit and put your mirrors and antenna back into place. Then you just drive off! It seemed to do a decent job. I’m not an expert when it comes to car maintenance/care, but it seemed pretty average as far as an automatic wash goes. I do plan to use it again in between hand washes.
