I'm new to Philly and needed a place to get my PA car inspection done. Wayne and his staff of techs took great care of me. The cherry on top, after buying a tire from the shop to pass my inspection (NOT an unexpected need/NOT a grift), about a week later I managed to get a screw in the tread. Took the tire back to Wayne's and they took care of the repair no charge! Now THAT's how to run a garage to keep customers coming back and recommending your shop to anyone that asks!

Would highly recommend Waynes Garage! We have used his services several times over the past 5 years and he is extremely responsive and has always done a good job on our vehicles! In addition, he's a really nice guy to work with :)

Condescending staff. They will overcharge you. Was quoted close to $4,000 after going for routine car inspection. I'm sure when they saw I was a woman they saw $$$. When I said I would rather lose money, pay the fee for the inspection and take my car somewhere else - they were shocked. Guess their business model is sunk cost fallacy. I would rather waste $70 than be scammed. Non-stop emails after you register on their website. Go to Central Auto Service on 39th & Lancaster to support a REAL local business not these scammers.

Took my car here to get inspected. I had bought it the day before. It is an older car in great condition with 35,000 miles on it. Wayne's told me I would need close to $2,000 in repairs to pass inspection. Took it somewhere else and paid a couple hundred dollars to fix simple repairs (gas cap replacement, new windshield wipers). The worst part was how mean and condescending the bald guy was to me. Before even looking at the car, the guy started laying into me, telling me I had bought a lemon, that the car wasn't worth $1000, that I had been scammed, etc, just based on seeing that my car was older. I've now driven the car for thousands of miles without issue. It's the best car I've ever owned.

AVOID THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET UPCHARGED AND LIED TO ABOUT AN ISSUE!!!! I hate giving bad reviews, but I feel it's important to warn others. I was thankful they got me in and appreciated it. I was also happy about the time it took. However, that does not give them a pass on the outrageous amount they charged me for wiper blades when I didn't need them, and I am 100% sure of that!! My wiper blades were totally fine when I pulled in there. They call and tell me all the blades need to be replaced. The chance of all 3 blades being bad and me not knowing it is not possible. It's also highly unlikely that all 3 blades just happen to fail at the same time. They were looking for a way to make extra money, and they found it. If I didn't have them change them, they said i failed inspection, then I would have to get re-inspected. They try to blame it all on PA laws to get by with this. I don't have an issue with PA laws, I have an issue with the mechanic lying about it. They charged $100 for 3 wiper blades and to install them. That is insane!!!! Then, say well Subaru charges $36 a blade. Well, most people aren't crazy enough to have the dealer change them. They will respond to this and say, " Well, it's PA law they have to be working." I don't have an issue with having to have working wiper blades, I have an issue of them lying about all 3 of them failing when they were perfectly fine when I went there. Did they take a cloth to the blade to see if maybe something was stuck under them? No, they didn't. Supposedly, they left a streak, and they failed them immediately. All 3 of them. They were looking for things to make money on. Nobody charges $100 for 3 wiper blades and install, except maybe a dealership. How i know they lied about all 3 being bad was the owner said. " Well, we usually don't just replace one blade." They didn't give me the option to have the supposed bad blade changed, nope, changed all 3 to suck out as much money as they could. There was not a bad blade, let alone 3 of them, and I know that. So my suggestion is to find a shop with integrity!!! They will respond with some bogus excuse, and it will just be that an excuse. No way all 3 blades failed. If it's their policy to change all 3 regardless, then they need to stipulate that. Again, my wiper blades were perfectly fine.
