For local residents in Rock Hill, South Carolina, seeking a convenient option for basic automotive maintenance and the purchase of essential auto parts, Walmart Auto Care Centers function as accessible "Auto Repair Stations" integrated within the larger Walmart retail environment. While not solely dedicated to extensive auto repair, these centers provide a range of common services and offer a selection of tires, batteries, and other frequently needed automotive supplies. This integration allows customers to combine their regular shopping with essential vehicle upkeep, making it a practical choice for routine maintenance and parts acquisition.

The environment of a Walmart Auto Care Center, such as the one typically found within a Walmart Supercenter at locations like 4851 Dave Lyle Blvd in Rock Hill, SC, is characterized by its accessibility and integration with the retail store. You can generally expect a service area with designated bays for oil changes, tire services, and battery installations. There is usually a service counter where customers can check in, discuss their needs, and pay for services and parts. Adjacent to the service bays, you'll often find a retail section displaying tires, batteries, motor oil, filters, wiper blades, and other common automotive accessories available for purchase. The waiting area is typically functional and may offer basic seating. The overall atmosphere prioritizes convenience and affordability, aligning with the general shopping experience at Walmart.

Walmart Auto Care Centers Customer Reviews

Best experience at any Wal-Mart. Lamont was amazingly knowledgeable and friendly. He found my tire warranty cover a new tire. I was done in less than 1 hour. I will return to the Skibo location even though I live 5 minutes from Gillis Hill location. They have staffing issues often.

I had a good experience in the car service center at Walmart on Skibo Road in Fayetteville. The customer service representative was very friendly and helpful. Also, the representative took time to locate what I came to the store for, and that meant a lot.

If I could leave 0 Stars I would! Please DO NOT GO here!!!! I took my car in for a simple Oil Change and they managed to round my drain plug which caused the oil to leak out of my car! I called back to speak to a Manager to discuss the Issue and he said the vehicle was Not touched even though it sat in their Bay for an hour and a half. After I told him that my car was not leaking Oil Prior to it coming there he Hung Up the phone on me! I will be following up with a Supervisor but I wanted you guys to Beware of this Bootlegged Operation that they have going on over there.

Helpful and quick Able to replace my new tire with road hazard on the spot, hassle free, unlike the service at the other W+ location. This will be my defacto store for automotive service, from now on

My recent experience at the Walmart Auto Center in Fayetteville, NC was beyond frustrating and unprofessional. I scheduled an oil change and tire rotation, and was told over the phone that I didn't need an appointment for the tire rotation. I arrived at 8:30 AM for my 9 AM appointment, checked in, and waited—only to be told later that I couldn’t get my tires rotated because I didn’t have an appointment. When I explained what I was told on the phone, it didn’t matter. What was even worse was the complete lack of urgency or professionalism from some of the staff. One employee spent most of her time wandering around the parking lot on her phone, chatting and laughing without pulling in a single car for service. Another was smoking a cigarette, also glued to his phone. Meanwhile, the waiting area was full of upset customers, all watching as nothing got done. In the two hours I spent waiting, no effort was made to move things along, and it felt like the customers' time didn’t matter at all. The only positives were the cashier and the guy who did my oil change—they were at least courteous. But even they were hindered by what appeared to be severe understaffing and a total lack of leadership. A supervisor was out there working instead of managing, and the entire operation was chaotic. I am beyond disappointed with this Walmart location. If they can’t provide basic service in a timely and professional manner, they don’t deserve to stay in business. This level of negligence and poor service is unacceptable. I only come here because I bought my tires from them and the rotation and balance are free, but honestly, it’s not worth the hassle anymore. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere and strongly advise others to do the same. If I could give zero stars, I would. This place needs to be shut down."
