Vic's Auto Repair Introduce

Vic's Auto Repair, located at 615 E Broadway Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85040, USA, operates within the "Auto Repair Stations" category, providing various services for local vehicle owners. The shop can be reached via phone at (602) 509-5367 or mobile at +1 602-509-5367. As an auto repair station, Vic's aims to address a range of automotive issues, from routine maintenance to more complex diagnostics and repairs.

Environment and Customer Interaction

The environment at Vic's Auto Repair, particularly concerning customer interaction, appears to be characterized by a direct and candid approach, as indicated by customer reviews. One customer describes Vic as "blunt but fair," suggesting a mechanic who communicates straightforwardly, even if the information isn't always what the customer wants to hear. This directness can be a double-edged sword, appreciated by those who value transparency, but potentially off-putting for others seeking a more empathetic or sugar-coated interaction. The positive review highlights a feeling of being "safe and cared for under Vic’s professional lead," which speaks to a level of trust and confidence built over time with recurring customers.

Conversely, another review paints a starkly negative picture, citing issues like a lack of diagnostic ability ("He doesn’t know how to fix my car"), wasted money and time, and even missing parts after attempted repairs. This review concludes with the customer having to take the vehicle to a dealership for a resolution, highlighting a significant failure in service for that particular individual. Such contrasting reviews suggest that the customer experience at Vic's Auto Repair can vary considerably, possibly depending on the specific vehicle issue, the type of car, or individual expectations. It implies that while some customers find Vic's approach to be professional and trustworthy, others have had unsatisfactory outcomes.

Services Offered

As an "Auto Repair Station," Vic's Auto Repair is expected to offer a broad spectrum of services to maintain and repair vehicles. While the provided reviews do not detail an exhaustive list of services, they offer insights into common repair needs and the shop's capabilities:

  • General Car Repair: The reviews indicate that customers bring their vehicles for general repair needs, such as fixing car problems that prevent them from running correctly. The mention of a car not being fixed and needing to go to a dealership suggests the scope of repairs attempted can be comprehensive, but success rates may vary.
  • Diagnostics: The negative review explicitly mentions that the mechanic "doesn’t know how to fix my car," which could imply issues with accurate diagnostic capabilities for certain problems or vehicle types. However, a positive review also states that Vic is "extremely knowledgeable," suggesting that his expertise might be more aligned with certain types of issues or vehicles.
  • Maintenance for Personal and Family Vehicles: One customer notes that Vic has been "taking care of both of my kid's cars and my car," indicating a service that extends to regular maintenance and general repairs for multiple vehicles within a household, suggesting a loyal customer base for routine care.

It's important to note the specific mention of "German cars" not being Vic's "forte’." This suggests that while Vic's Auto Repair may handle a wide range of domestic and perhaps some Asian vehicles effectively, owners of German makes (such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche) might encounter limitations or a preference for other repair shops for specialized issues. This distinction is crucial for local users when considering where to take their vehicle for service.

Features and Distinctive Qualities

Based on the customer feedback, several features define Vic's Auto Repair:

  • Blunt and Fair Communication: This is a recurring theme, where Vic is described as being direct with customers about necessary repairs. For those who appreciate straightforwardness, this can be a strong positive, fostering a sense of honesty.
  • Established Customer Relationships: The positive review indicates long-term relationships with customers, highlighting a history of consistent service for families and their multiple vehicles. This suggests a certain level of reliability and trust built over time for a segment of the clientele.
  • Knowledgeable on Certain Vehicle Types: While there's a noted limitation with German cars, the positive review states Vic is "extremely knowledgeable" in general. This implies a strong grasp of automotive mechanics for a broad range of vehicles, even if not all makes are a specialty.
  • Fair Pricing (for some): The positive review specifically mentions "fair in pricing," suggesting that for the services rendered, customers find the cost reasonable, which is a significant factor in customer satisfaction for auto repairs.
  • Potential Inconsistency in Service Outcomes: The highly contrasting reviews, from a customer feeling "safe and cared for" to another calling it the "worst mechanic ever" with parts missing, highlight a potential inconsistency in the quality or outcome of service provided. This could be due to the complexity of the repair, the specific issue, or a mismatch between the customer's expectations and the shop's capabilities.
Promotional Information

The provided reviews do not contain any specific promotional information, discounts, or special offers from Vic's Auto Repair. Auto repair stations often use various methods to promote their services, which could include:

  • Word-of-Mouth Referrals: Given the long-standing customer relationships mentioned in the positive review, word-of-mouth is likely a significant driver of business for Vic's Auto Repair. Satisfied customers, like the one who trusts Vic with their family's cars, can be powerful advocates.
  • Transparency in Pricing: The mention of "fair pricing" acts as an indirect promotional point, suggesting that customers can expect reasonable costs without hidden fees. This aligns with the "blunt but fair" communication style.
  • Specialty Awareness: While not explicitly promotional, the note about German cars not being a "forte’" serves as an important clarification. For new customers, this information can help manage expectations and guide them to a shop best suited for their specific vehicle needs.

For potential customers in Phoenix, AZ, interested in Vic's Auto Repair, it would be advisable to directly contact them at (602) 509-5367 or +1 602-509-5367 to inquire about their specific services, pricing, and whether their expertise aligns with the particular make and model of the vehicle requiring service, especially if it's a German car. Discussing the exact nature of the repair beforehand might help in setting clear expectations and avoiding potential dissatisfaction, as experienced by some past customers.

Vic's Auto Repair Customer Reviews

The worst mechanic ever! He doesn’t know how to fix my car. Waste my money and time. And parts missing every time he tried to fix it. At the end he didn’t fix my car and gave me only 300$ back and I took it to dealership to get it fixed.

Vic is blunt but fair! He tells you what you need to know but you may not want to hear. He has been taking care of both of my kid's cars and my car. We feel safe and cared for under Vic’s professional lead. Working on German cars is not his forte’ and he rolls his eyes when I pull up but he is extremely knowledgeable and fair in pricing and I appreciate that.

My friend took his car to Victor and he was very rude and never fixed the car and charged my friend a lot of money. I don't recommend this shop to anyone. Be careful guys!

If there were ever a way to give a auto shop or repairman negative stars, I would give Victor and his shop negative 5 stars. I brought him my 2002 Chevy Suburban for transmission repair after he assured me and quoted me a price that he can have it done. Once my truck got to the shop he started changing in his prices amount of the deposit needed to start the work. Mind you all this started back in March of 2018, over the months and payments to Victor for the transmission work he never could give me any positive updates other than took the transmission out of MY vechicle and took it to another repairman who does work for him. With weekly check-ins on my truck all he could ever say “was he was still waiting to my transmission back” from this mystery repairman, finally in June of 2018 he gave me an update that transmission was still not working properly (which I already knew, cause I brought it to him for repair work) and he would have to send it back to this mystery friend of his! So the last week of June he up and tells me his friend is unable to get the transmission working as it should and would need to outsource and send it somewhere else. Still with $900 in the door for service I allow this man to continue working on my vehicle (I know very naive of me to let this continue)! So the first week of July he tells me the truck will be ready and he had me transmission back at the shop, I arrange a day a time to go pick up my vehicle after work, only to be on my way, call Victor and him tell me “they have left the shop and closed up for the day”. The next morning I show up to get my belongs (truck and keys to leave) for him to tell me now my Alternator is no good (mind you my truck only went to the shop for a transmission issue) I had my truck for a full year and never experienced any alternator issues until he mentions it. So with the transmission somehow finally fixed (as it appears he did not repair it himself or have he knowledge of the job) I tell him I will just have my truck towed away and I figure out the alternator issue myself. Victor immediately says to me (well if you can get me a new battery I can get you a new alternator) of course as my truck had been sitting there for 5 months. With my battery still under warranty with autozone I was back within 30 minutes with a new battery as he somehow searched Arizona for a new alternator for my truck. He offered to put the alternator in for free mind you all! I drove away from his shop on July 8, 2018 tothis day my truck still does not work. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT NO ONE TAKE THEIR VEHICLE TO THIS SHOP FOR ANY SERVICE AS THEY ARE VERY SKETCHY, UNPROFESSIONAL, UNORGANIZED, AND UNKNOWLEDGEABLE IN REPAIRING VEHICLES EVEN JOBS THEY ADVERTISE AS ABLE TO DO! They are simply con artists and I regret ever taking the recommendation I got for Vic’s Auto Repair.

I do not recommend this shop they kept pushing my car off to the side and would do other peoples cars so 6 months went by I told them I was coming to get it I gave him a week to put my car back together and he didn't do a thing so I had to have my other mechanic go and try to piece it back together and couldn't find bolts I would text and call Vic the owner and he would never reply
