Two for the Road Cycles Introduce
Located at 2624 NY-112, Medford, NY 11763, USA, Two for the Road Cycles is an establishment that caters to the auto parts needs of the local community, specifically focusing on motorcycles. As an "Auto Repair Station" platform category, this store positions itself as a provider of goods and services related to vehicle maintenance and enhancement, with a clear emphasis on two-wheeled machines. You can reach them at (631) 289-8470 or +1 631-289-8470.
When considering the environment of Two for the Road Cycles, based on available customer feedback, it appears to house a collection of older, possibly rare, and discontinued (New Old Stock or NOS) motorcycle parts. One customer noted "a ton of cool old NOS stuff in there," suggesting a setting that might appeal to enthusiasts or those seeking specific vintage components for their bikes. This implies an atmosphere that could be described as a treasure trove for niche motorcycle parts, potentially organized in a way that allows for discovery of unique items.
Regarding services and goods for sale, Two for the Road Cycles primarily offers motorcycle parts. This would include a range of components essential for the repair, maintenance, and customization of motorcycles. While the specific breadth of their inventory isn't exhaustively detailed, the mention of "extra long spark plug cables" and "cloth covered cables" points to a focus on electrical and ignition system components, among other general parts. Given the "NOS" remark, they might also specialize in hard-to-find or discontinued parts for classic and vintage motorcycles, offering a unique resource for restoration projects or repairs that require original equipment.
The features of Two for the Road Cycles seem to revolve around its specialized inventory. The availability of New Old Stock (NOS) parts is a significant feature, potentially making it a go-to spot for specific, older motorcycle models where new parts are no longer manufactured. This niche offering could be a major draw for a segment of the motorcycle community. However, customer experiences also highlight certain aspects of their business practices. For instance, a customer reported being told certain parts were "no longer made or available" which they later found to be untrue, and also experienced issues with product returns. This suggests that while their inventory might be unique, customers should be diligent in verifying information and understanding their return policy upfront.
As for promotional information, without direct promotional materials, we can infer some potential angles based on the store's characteristics. Their emphasis on older and "period-correct" parts could be highlighted to attract owners of vintage motorcycles, emphasizing the authenticity and originality their parts can bring to a restoration or repair. They might promote their specialized inventory as a valuable resource for collectors, hobbyists, and mechanics working on classic bikes. Given the nature of an auto parts store, general promotions might also include competitive pricing on certain items, expert advice (though customer experiences vary on this point), or perhaps loyalty programs for repeat customers. However, the existing customer reviews indicate that while they might offer unique inventory, potential customers should be aware of reported issues regarding pricing and return policies.
In summary, Two for the Road Cycles in Medford, NY, presents itself as a dedicated source for motorcycle parts, with a notable collection of older and potentially rare "New Old Stock" items. This makes it a potential point of interest for those seeking specialized components for their motorcycles, particularly vintage models. While the allure of unique parts is present, prospective customers are advised to inquire about part availability, pricing, and return policies to ensure a satisfactory experience.

Went in there for some extra long spark plug cables and was told the period-correct connectors were no longer made or available (not true at all). The cable kit he had was $110… I left and ordered 2 sets of cloth covered cables (each with a set of the correct connectors) for $75 shipped from an American store. There’s a ton of cool old NOS stuff in there and I’d love to support small businesses like this but it’s kinda tough to justify

Sent my wife there with my son seven years old to buy a helmet for his first ATV the owner of the shop who claims he’s been there for years and years and years sold my wife an adult size extra large helmet that is way too big for his head, you can’t even see his neck. He needed a youth size extra large helmet. Try to go back there the next day to return the helmet and he told us there’s no returns. The place is absolutely ridiculous. I would never go back.

I’ve been going here for inspections and small stuff for years. They’re an old time mom and pop bike shop. Dial back your expectations to 1975 and you’re in the ball park. Sure you pay a bit extra compared to online, but at least you’re dealing with real (nice) people and their sweet dog. Priceless!

I've been using this business for many many years. The owners take great pride in providing the correct parts. May even refuse a sale rather than sell the wrong part. Very honest. The variety of hard to find pieces and their vast knowledge how to use them is essential. They stock rolls of chain, cable, cable housings, adjusters, ect, ect. To make custom parts. You're going to be hard pressed to be able to walk into any store and come out with anything more personalized than this experience. Have patience with them. It's not the normal customer service experience of a large chain store. It's old school, small town services there. They care but won't be walked on which is a welcome attitude these days. Their dog 'thunder' is friendly too and reinforces the family attitude.

I love this shop. It is down to earth, friendly and helpful. Lots of cool vintage items and hard to find goodies. TONS of helmets, batteries, handlebars, plugs, parts...SO much stock and general 'want-to-help' approach to customers. Thunder is also quite friendly when he's not napping.
