Tom's Family Auto Care Customer Reviews

First time trying Tom's. I was asked to bring it in early on a Friday morning because of a fluid leak. Guys called me back midday and said they needed some parts to fix the leak. They asked that I leave the car over the weekend they would get it fixed Monday. Monday rolls around and no calls or updates. I tried calling a few times in the afternoon and finally someone picked up the phone around 4:40. The guy says they don't have the parts yet and they won't be in until Wednesday. 4 days without a car, and they are telling me a few more days. I said something along the lines of "you're killing me man" and before I could finish my sentence, they guy went off about there is nothing he can do and his parts aren't in, and on and on. When I tried to speak he kept going on about how he can't fix my car without parts. I get it. I was trying to ask if I could get my car that day and bring it back after they get the parts. I finally cut the guy off and asked if I could speak... He said "Yeah, you know what, why don't you just come pickup your car", And hung up on me. Wow! Someone was having a bad day, and took it out on me. Guy just went off on me on the phone over nothing really. All I wanted to ask was if I could bring my car back when they have the parts. Then, when I came in a few minutes later, the guy wanted to shake my hand and said the part was still on order if I want to get it fixed. Really?!?

I got 5 quotes from other local family owned shops as well as the larger name shops in and around monroe. Every single one of them were 2x as high as what i was quoted/paid at toms. I needed new rear shocks & control arm on my 2013 Ford fusion. Called Tom & told him what I needed done as I already had quotes done in person. Tom was friendly on the phone, courteous when speaking to my wife & overall very professional. Before getting the work done my daughter would shake in her car seat while on a smooth road because the shocks were so bad. But after getting the work done it was such a smooth ride, even on bumpy roads my daughter fell asleep. 10/10 i would highly recommend. Even from being out of town (monroe) I will make the short drive for any work I need done. Thanks Tom & Staff!

If I could give this place negative stars I would. It’s really sad because I’m not in the habit of going around leaving negative reviews on businesses. He only gets the two stars because he actually did a nice job on fixing my muffler and my exhaust. This review is for the way he just talked to me after I got off the phone with him when I’m just trying to get a roundabout figure to see how much it would cost to fix my throttle position sensor and my apps sensor and that is something any halfway decent mechanic would know. He talked way down to me and even talked over me so if this is how you treat your customers, I’m good on this place. Just off that interaction I do not recommend this place at all. Find mechanics that will actually treat you like a human being. I know I sure will.

Crazy to see bad reviews about Tom’s. He stands by his work as well as his warranties. Does not recommend unneeded repairs and is priced reasonably. I have never not went to get an alignment and not been up sold on other suspension work going to Tom’s today, I had an alignment done thinking I would need additional suspension work done. Tom not only told me that my car runs and drives great but that I did not need any additional work. This is unseen in this industry currently. 10/10 experience. Get your car aligned at Tom’s!!

Tom's auto repair is awful. They took advantage of me. I took my car there because the heat wasn't working. They told me it was a actuator problem. And my heat don't work at all. After they fixed it. I told them they needed to make good on that repair. The owner of the shop told me.I needed to get a second opinion and pick up my vehicle. And they messed up my vehicle. Also I took it to another shop and they stated that they messed up my electrical and took my wires apart.
