Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service Introduce
Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service, located at 2750 N Decatur Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89108, USA, operates as a comprehensive "Auto Repair Station" serving the local community. As part of a larger chain of Ted Wiens locations across Las Vegas, this branch offers a wide array of automotive services, aiming to cater to the diverse needs of vehicle owners. Their service spectrum typically includes everything from routine maintenance like oil changes and tire services to more complex diagnostic and repair work. However, recent customer experiences at this specific location highlight the importance of detailed communication and careful consideration when seeking their services.
The environment at Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service, like many professional auto repair stations, is designed to facilitate vehicle intake, diagnostics, and repairs. While direct descriptions of the waiting area or service bays for this particular branch are not provided in the given reviews, similar establishments typically feature a reception area for customer interaction, a waiting lounge that may offer amenities such as Wi-Fi and coffee, and dedicated bays for vehicle servicing. The atmosphere is generally expected to be professional and efficient, geared towards managing the flow of vehicles and addressing customer concerns. However, the customer feedback provided indicates that while the environment might be standard, the customer experience within that environment can be significantly impacted by the communication and trustworthiness of the staff.
Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service offers a broad range of services typical of a full-service auto repair station. Based on general offerings of such establishments and inferences from the provided reviews, these services include:
- Routine Maintenance: This prominently includes oil changes, which was the initial reason for one customer's visit. Other routine services would likely encompass fluid checks and top-offs, filter replacements (air, cabin, fuel), and general vehicle inspections.
- Vehicle Diagnostics: As an auto repair station, they are equipped to perform diagnostic tests to identify the root cause of vehicle issues, such as electrical quirks, trunk malfunctions, or potential leaks (oil, coolant). However, the customer review suggests that these diagnostics may sometimes come with additional, separate fees and that their findings might require careful scrutiny.
- Battery Services: They offer battery testing and replacement. The review indicates that battery life assessments and replacement recommendations are part of their service, though there were significant discrepancies and concerns raised about the accuracy and necessity of the replacement.
- Filter Replacement: Changing engine and cabin air filters is a standard offering, though the pricing and necessity of these replacements should be verified by the customer.
- Tire Services: While not explicitly mentioned in these reviews, "Complete Auto Service" and other Ted Wiens locations often provide tire sales, mounting, balancing, rotation, and repair.
- Addressing Leaks: They claim to diagnose and address oil and coolant leaks, though the review implies that such claims might not always be substantiated by visual evidence or further testing.
It is important for customers to understand that while a wide range of services is advertised, the execution and transparency of these services can vary, and it is always prudent to seek clarity and potentially a second opinion, especially for major repair recommendations.
The features that truly set Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service apart, as illuminated by the customer reviews, present a mixed picture. On the positive side, they have managers like Cabrina and Mario, who are described as "great," suggesting that some individuals within the management team strive for good customer relations. The ability to perform a "full vehicle inspection" is also a notable feature, indicating a comprehensive approach to vehicle health assessment. Furthermore, the provision of a phone number (702) 475-3021 and mobile number +1 702-475-3021 allows for direct communication. They aim to be a "complete auto service," implying a one-stop shop for various automotive needs.
However, significant concerns arise regarding other features. A primary issue highlighted is the **lack of transparency and questionable diagnostic practices**. The customer's experience with filter replacements, battery diagnosis, and alleged leaks suggests a pattern of recommending services that were either unnecessary, overpriced, or inaccurately diagnosed. The contradiction between the battery's initial "half-life" assessment and its subsequent "completely dead" claim, along with the misleading information about specialized tools for battery installation, severely undermines trust. This raises questions about the **honesty and integrity of some service recommendations**. Furthermore, the perceived **pressure tactics for upselling** and the assumption that a luxury car owner would not question charges are serious red flags. The review explicitly states, "They seemed more focused on upselling unnecessary services than actually helping." Lastly, **internal communication and consistency** appear to be problematic, as evidenced by a manager needing to "contest the decision made by the first technician" regarding a coolant leak. This can lead to confusion and additional costs for the customer, as seen with the second opinion costing $200 more. These aspects collectively paint a picture of a service center where caution and skepticism from the customer are warranted.
Regarding promotional information, the provided reviews do not detail any explicit promotional offers or discounts from Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service. Instead, the customer's experience suggests that their pricing may not always be competitive, especially when compared to alternatives like AutoZone for parts and labor. The situation where a battery replacement would have been free at AutoZone but cost $160 in labor at Ted Wiens is a significant point of comparison for local users. While auto repair shops may run seasonal promotions, discounts on specific services, or loyalty programs, the prevailing impression from this feedback is one where customers might be paying a premium, potentially for services that are not entirely necessary or accurately justified. Given the concerns about upselling, customers should be particularly vigilant about any promotional offers that might mask inflated pricing or unnecessary repairs. It is always advisable to independently verify any offered promotions and compare them with market rates. For any specific promotional details, customers would need to contact the service center directly via phone at (702) 475-3021 or +1 702-475-3021. However, based on the reviews, a proactive and questioning approach to any recommendations and associated costs would be highly recommended for potential customers.
In conclusion, Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service at 2750 N Decatur Blvd functions as an auto repair station offering a wide range of services. While it aims to provide comprehensive car care, significant concerns have been raised by customers regarding diagnostic accuracy, transparency in service recommendations, pricing fairness, and potential upselling. Prospective customers, particularly those less familiar with car maintenance or owners of luxury vehicles, are strongly advised to approach with caution, seek detailed explanations for all recommended services, question pricing, and consider obtaining second opinions before committing to repairs. The presence of some good managers is noted, but the overall experience described by the reviews indicates a need for careful evaluation by consumers.

Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service Customer Reviews
I brought my 2020 Range Rover Evoque in for a routine oil change and asked for a full vehicle inspection due to a few concerns, including minor electrical quirks and a trunk that sometimes wouldn’t open properly. I shared everything clearly upfront. Shortly after, I was told the cabin and engine filters were dirty and needed to be replaced for $260. I passed on their offer and I ended up doing it myself in under 30 minutes for just $28 total. That alone raises serious trust issues. Then, they told me my battery was only at half-life and offered to “clean” it for a fee. Later during the same visit, I was suddenly told the battery was completely dead and needed replacing. Ironically, I had zero starting issues before the appointment. They even sent me a photo showing 11.82V with a message saying “Good – Recharge,” contradicting their claim. When I told them I would tow it to AutoZone for a better price, they pressured me to stay. The service advisor suddenly claimed AutoZone wouldn’t be able to install the battery due to “special tools” needed to remove a metal bar, which I later discovered was a simple bracket held by basic screws. She also tried to discredit AutoZone’s battery warranty, inaccurately stating theirs was longer when in fact, AutoZone offered 4–5 year options while they only offered 2. I ended up paying $160 for labor alone when AutoZone would have replaced it for free. I was also told I had oil and coolant leaks, and that I’d need to pay separately for diagnostic tests to confirm them. However, I’ve seen no signs of leakage in my designated parking spots before or since. They seemed more focused on upselling unnecessary services than actually helping. I’m convinced this shop attempted to take advantage of me based on my vehicle make and possibly the assumption I wouldn’t question their charges. I do not trust this service center and would not recommend them to others, especially if you’re not familiar with car maintenance. Be sure to get a second opinion. A luxury car shouldn’t give shops an excuse to upsell or exaggerate service needs.

I really wanted to trust this establishment for a second opinion. I got my second opinion but it cost $200 more than if I was to go with the first estimate. The Managers , Cabrina and Mario are great but very little communication between and it was suspicious when Cabrina needed to ask the technician to check the truck again for the coolant leak. The truck runs fine thus far. Just better communication and need to be careful when diagnosing an issue. It shouldn’t be that the Manager has to contest the decision made by the first technician.

Ordered tires from tire rack and got it delivered to them. They called me when my tires got delivered and went there right away to get them installed. No hassle, got it installed less than an hour. Also, their price to install is fairly cheaper than others out there.

This place has not been the same since Judy and Steve left. The lack of care, the lack of connection the lack of responsibility the lack of communication. I've been coming here for about seven years, it's convenient because it's down the street from my house as well of Judy & Steve care. I love places like that where they love what they do & the care about the people, and give us the best option no matter what situation we're in. We really need Judy and Steve back or some with integrity like them here.

No stars would be more appropriate. Scheduled an appointment to get my truck (2020 Ram 3500 long bed quad cab) aligned as its been done there before twice already. When arriving i asked the clerk to speak with the tech as to ensure proper specs per the manufacturer of the leveling kit on my truck and to not use the factory specs. She assured me that they do many of these and in fact on Thursday had done 3. After about a half an hour, i walked out back to see the progress on my truck. What i actually saw was no one near it and all the employees sitting and talking. I went to the front asked the girl of they were on break as my truck wasn't being serviced . Her reply was that the tech didnt seem to think the lift wasntlong enough. This is after i wanted to talk to the tech and was assured that they do these trucks all the time. Mind you, they HAVE performed two alignments on THIS EXACT truck twice before. I was pissed as i had an appointment following this and wouldn't be able to try and get it done elsewhere and the next day was Sunday when no one was open. The girl at the counter acted as if oh well, guess you're out of luck... So i absolutely lost my shit, i said why the hell isnt my truck already off the rack sitting here in front of the store ready for me to leave. Her reply was that they didnt have anyone available to get it . I came unglued and said then I'll go get MY TRUCK. She replied with you cant fo back there and who the hell is going to stop me. She immediately went to the back and had someone pull it out. I met him as he pulled out of the bay and took my truck from there. They have performed work on this truck and my jeep xj many times...but guess what.. they'll never get my money again and i will tell everyone i can as there are plenty of other shops out there.
