Ted's Auto Introduce

Ted's Auto, an establishment categorized as an Auto Repair Station, is situated at 18003 Reservoir Rd, Saegertown, PA 16433, USA. The business can be reached via phone at (814) 282-5768 or through its mobile contact number, +1 814-282-5768. As an Auto Repair Station, Ted's Auto is expected to provide a range of services related to vehicle maintenance, diagnosis, and repair for the local community in Saegertown and its surrounding areas.

The environment of an Auto Repair Station like Ted's Auto typically consists of a functional workspace designed to facilitate vehicle servicing. This usually includes a garage area equipped with various tools, machinery, and lifts necessary for performing mechanical work on automobiles. There would likely be a reception area where customers can check in, discuss their vehicle issues, and make payments. While specific details about the cleanliness, organization, or customer amenities within Ted's Auto are not provided in the available information, the operational nature of an auto repair shop necessitates a practical and efficient setup. The focus of customer feedback tends to be on the quality of the service and the outcome of the repairs rather than the physical environment itself. Therefore, a comprehensive description of the shop's ambiance or waiting area cannot be constructed from the given data.

Ted's Auto, as an Auto Repair Station, offers services that involve the installation and replacement of vehicle components. Based on the customer review provided, their services specifically include the installation of customer-supplied parts. The review mentions the installation of "new parts" and refers to subsequent issues with "my cv joint" and "both of my new front struts." This indicates that Ted's Auto performs repairs related to a vehicle's drivetrain (specifically CV joints) and suspension system (struts).

The nature of the issues described—a snapped CV joint and damaged front struts shortly after installation—suggests that the services provided encompass mechanical work on critical vehicle systems. While the customer review expresses uncertainty about whether the damage was due to faulty parts or improper installation, it clearly points to services involving the removal and reinstallation of these components. The fact that the customer provided their own parts for installation is also a notable aspect of their service offering, indicating a willingness to work with customer-supplied components, which is not always standard practice at all auto repair shops. Beyond these specific instances, a typical Auto Repair Station would also offer general maintenance such as oil changes, brake services, tire rotations, diagnostic services, and potentially more extensive engine or transmission repairs, though these are not explicitly mentioned in the provided customer feedback.

The features of Ted's Auto, as discerned from the customer review, present a mixed picture. A significant positive feature highlighted is the perceived honesty of the owner. The customer explicitly states, "Owner seemed honest and tried his best to get what I needed done" and "At least he was honest about it." This suggests a commitment to transparency, particularly when issues arise, which can be a valuable trait in the auto repair industry where trust is paramount. The owner's willingness to communicate problems, even if unfavorable, appears to be appreciated by the customer.

However, counterbalancing this positive feature are significant concerns regarding the quality and reliability of the work performed. The core feature, the actual repair service, is brought into question by the subsequent failures of the CV joint and front struts shortly after installation. The customer's uncertainty regarding whether the issue was due to "new parts that was installed or how things were taken out and put back in" or "installed incorrectly or there was something wrong with the part itself" points to a potential weakness in either diagnostic accuracy (if the parts were indeed faulty and installed despite issues), installation technique, or post-installation quality control. The statement "something damaged my vehicle" is a serious concern, indicating that the outcome of the service was detrimental to the vehicle's condition, regardless of the cause. The customer's concluding advice to "proceed with caution" and the sentiment "you get what ya pay for" further emphasize that while honesty is a strong point, the overall reliability of the repair work may be a key consideration for potential customers. Therefore, a defining feature is the owner's honesty, contrasted with reported issues concerning the durability and potential impact of the repairs on other vehicle components.

Regarding promotional information, the provided text does not contain any direct promotional offers, discounts, or marketing messages from Ted's Auto. However, the customer review itself acts as a form of publicly available information that prospective customers might consider. The repeated sentiment, "Owner seemed honest and tried his best to get what I needed done," could be interpreted as a soft positive, suggesting a proprietor who genuinely attempts to assist customers. This perceived honesty, while valuable, is overshadowed by the subsequent mechanical failures experienced by the customer.

The concluding remarks, "proceed with caution" and "you get what ya pay for," serve as a cautionary note rather than a promotional one. These statements imply that while the service might be cost-effective (if that's the interpretation of "you get what ya pay for" in this context), there might be trade-offs in terms of the longevity or quality of the repair. Therefore, any "promotional information" derived from this review would be cautionary, advising potential customers to weigh the perceived honesty against the reported issues with repair outcomes. For an Auto Repair Station, the most effective promotion comes from consistently reliable work and satisfied customers. Without positive testimonials directly addressing successful and problem-free repairs, it is challenging to present any beneficial promotional aspects based solely on the provided review. Potential customers seeking services from Ted's Auto might consider these points and perhaps inquire directly about their policies regarding parts, warranties on labor, and how they address post-service issues.

Ted's Auto Customer Reviews

Owner seemed honest and tried his best to get what I needed done. But I bought the parts, he installed the parts, but then said he had an issue with the parts and just left them on. At least he was honest about it. But 3 days later, my cv joint snapped at the tip which is super weird and unusual. Another mechanic said it must have been dropped or put incorrectly in. Idk if this occurred cause of the new parts that was installed or how things were taken out and put back in. But something damaged my vehicle Oh and both of my new front struts is damaged and I had to replace em…. Dunno if it was because it was installed incorrectly or there was something wrong with the part itself. No way to tell. I would say proceed with caution. And you get what ya pay for 🤷🏽‍♂️

Very good experience. He's a very kind an honest mechanic, which is hard to find nowadays. I will be a returning customer but hopefully, no too often, lol.
