T & M Bear Alignment Shop Inc Introduce

Located at 557 E Columbia St, Springfield, OH 45503, USA, T & M Bear Alignment Shop Inc operates within the "Auto Repair Stations" category, specializing in vehicle alignment and a broader range of undercarriage and suspension services. They can be reached at (937) 322-6192 or via mobile at +1 937-322-6192. This establishment aims to provide comprehensive solutions for issues related to steering, suspension, and vehicle stability. Based on available customer reviews, the experiences here can be quite varied, offering different perspectives on their service quality and customer interaction.

Environment and Atmosphere

The physical environment of T & M Bear Alignment Shop Inc is not explicitly described in the provided reviews. However, the customer feedback gives a mixed impression of the atmosphere. One reviewer describes the people as "Very nice," suggesting a friendly and approachable staff. This positive sentiment aligns with a general expectation of professionalism in an auto repair setting. Conversely, the detailed negative review, while not directly critiquing the shop's appearance, implies an environment where communication might lack proactive consent for diagnostic charges and where a critical oversight could occur in the repair process. The varying experiences suggest that while the staff may generally be polite, the thoroughness of their diagnostic and repair procedures might be inconsistent, impacting the overall customer experience and perceived atmosphere.

Services and Goods for Sale

As an "Auto Repair Station" with "Alignment Shop" in its name, T & M Bear Alignment Shop Inc's core services revolve around vehicle alignment and related components. Their offerings include:

  • Wheel Alignment: This is a primary service, crucial for ensuring proper tire wear, steering, and vehicle handling. One customer specifically sought this service for their Audi. Their website confirms they specialize in "wheel alignment service."
  • Suspension System Diagnostics and Repair: The shop performs diagnostics on suspension issues, as evidenced by the $33.77 diagnostic charge and the comprehensive quote for suspension problems. Their website also states they offer "Superior Suspension Work." This includes diagnosing problems with components such as stabilizer links, as highlighted in one customer's experience.
  • Strut Replacement: A customer explicitly mentioned a "pretty good job replacing the struts," indicating this is a service they perform.
  • Ball Joint (Control Arm) Replacement: The replacement of a "ball joint (control arm)" was also noted as a service provided.
  • Sway Bar Links Replacement: This specific component was also replaced on a customer's car, showcasing their capability in addressing these parts of the suspension system.
  • Brake Repairs: Their website indicates they inspect, service, and repair brakes.

While the primary offering is the service itself, the repair work inherently involves the installation of various automotive parts, such as struts, ball joints, sway bar links, and other suspension components. They provide these necessary parts as part of their repair solutions, rather than selling them as standalone retail items.

Features and Specialties

T & M Bear Alignment Shop Inc exhibits several features and specializations, some of which are highlighted positively, while others are points of concern from customer feedback:

  • Alignment Expertise: Their name clearly indicates a specialization in alignments. This suggests they have the necessary equipment and technicians to perform precise wheel alignments.
  • Comprehensive Undercarriage Services: Beyond just alignment, they appear capable of handling various undercarriage issues, including struts, ball joints, and sway bar links. Their website explicitly states they have "trained ASE-certified technicians who know cars well with over 30 years of experience" and are "Your under-car experts."
  • Reasonable Prices: One review noted "reasonable prices" for the work performed on a mom's car, suggesting competitive pricing for certain services. Their website also claims "All services are fairly priced."
  • Diagnostic Capability (with caveats): They are equipped to diagnose suspension problems and provide detailed quotes. However, one customer expressed concern about being charged for diagnostics without prior consent and questioned the accuracy or methodology for certain diagnoses (e.g., "tire hop" without a joy ride).
  • Controversial Quality Control: This is a significant point of divergence in customer experiences. One customer had a "pretty good job" done on multiple components, leading to a "highly recommend." Conversely, another customer discovered an unbolted stabilizer link after a diagnostic and declined quoted repairs, raising serious questions about the thoroughness and integrity of the inspection or even potential negligence. This particular incident casts a shadow on their reliability for critical suspension work.
  • Communication Practices: While one customer found the people "nice," the lack of explicit consent for a diagnostic charge before performing it, as reported by another customer, indicates a potential gap in their communication protocol regarding service authorization and pricing transparency.
Promotional Information and Customer Considerations

T & M Bear Alignment Shop Inc's official website indicates they are BBB Accredited, offering a level of assurance regarding their business practices. They also have a promotional offer of "$5 OFF services when you mention this website." However, the most impactful "promotional information" comes directly from the customer reviews, which present a stark contrast.

For local users, the conflicting reviews necessitate careful consideration. The positive review promotes T & M Bear Alignment Shop Inc as a place with "very nice people, reasonable prices, and did a pretty good job" for services like strut and ball joint replacement, leading to a "highly recommend." This suggests they can be a reliable option for specific, common undercarriage repairs.

However, the highly detailed negative review, emphasizing a potential critical oversight (unbolted stabilizer link) and questioning diagnostic practices, serves as a significant caution. This review effectively promotes vigilance, advising potential customers to be very clear about desired services, consent for diagnostics, and potentially to perform their own post-repair checks, especially for critical safety components. It explicitly states, "I would not go here if I were a new customer." Therefore, while the shop aims to project an image of professionalism and good value, potential customers should carefully weigh the positive feedback against the serious concerns raised about the quality and completeness of certain diagnostic and repair procedures.

T & M Bear Alignment Shop Inc Customer Reviews

I took my Audi to this place on August 25, 2023 to get an alignment. After about an hour of waiting, they come back saying that there were many problems with the suspension, so they charged me $33.77 for a diagnostic without asking first. I thought it was strange that they didn't ask if I still wanted the alignment before doing the diagnostic, but I didn't care too much because I actually did want to know this information too. They told me my car had the problems posted on the attached receipt, quoting $2086.84 for parts and labor. I declined because I like to DIY my car to save money. Most of the diagnosis was reasonable because my car is 17 years old, but the bent rims and tire hop were bizarre because 1) I had just gotten my tires replaced, and Dicount Tire would have told me this. They love money too. 2) Tire hop occurs on hard acceleration, but I didn't see them taking my car for a joy ride. So, how would they know this? Either way, this wasn't the concerning part. The reason it took me nearly 2 months to write this is because I just lifted my car up to fix my car's stability issues to find that my stabilizer link is unbolted on the top, see the posted image. Those two pieces should be bolted together. Now, there are really only 4 different things that could have happened: 1) It fell out. Not likely because every other bolt is seized from rust. 2) You did not notice, meaning you are not fit to work on suspension. 3) You saw it and didn't report it on the quote. 4) You loosened or removed the bolt yourself. Best case scenario, it was a poor experience. I paid $33 dollars to find this information, and I would not go here if I were a new customer.

Very nice people, reasonable prices, and did a pretty good job replacing the struts, ball joint (control arm), alignment, and the sway bar links on my mom's car. I highly recommend you go to this place.

I took my 2006 f150 here and had a great experience. My steering wheel had been jacked up badly to the point I had to manually turn off my turn signals each time prior to taking my truck in after changing the steering shaft. I was hopeful they could fix it and I knew my truck needed aligned anyways. I dropped it off and about 3 hours later I got a call and came back to pick up my truck. The pricing was very reasonable and they completely fixed my steering wheel. They did a fantastic job and I was very pleased with the customer service. I’d recommend this place to anyone and will definitely use them in the future!

Jon and Scott always let me know what's going on. Penny explains the billing so it's easy to understand.

Still the best alignment and suspension shop in Springfield. Penny is a sweetheart and Scott is the best there is. He is honest, reasonable and super knowledgeable. They have my business as long as their doors are open.
