I went there for smog check,didn't the tech told me he could not see the cat converter number i told him that it was on top in between the chassis,than he said to have have it reweld again.so i went 10 street east and the guy was check the cat.converter and 15 min.i had the car ready

I didn't go for a smog check but to fix the transmission and I paid 1500 and 6 months after I got the transmission not working again? The owner seems nice but they charge me for something they didn't fix. Don't go there. By the way when I go my car back "all fixed" I knew the transmission wasn't fixed but the guy told me to take it back if I had the engine light on so I did and he said I didn't pay enough for a better transmission. So don't go waste your time or money at this place.

I have been getting my vehicles smogged there for several years. The individual doing the smog checks (I apologize for not remembering his name), is very personable and just an all around great guy. He does a great job and is very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place to have your smog checks done.

I went to this establishment for a smog check and my vehicle failed. I was given the printout explaining the reason that it failed and I was simply told that it is an expensive fix and to take it to my mechanic. Taking the advice of the gentlemen, I take it to my mechanic, analyzes my car, sees that the error can also refer to the gas cap, runs a smog check on it, and it passes. I was charged $30 by Star Auto Repair and I was told that if I bring it back once it is fixed to be tested, that I would only be charged $30 instead of $40. Thanks, but no thanks. Came in for a smog check, left with my certificate and a sense of value. The owner is super mellow and cool. Explained everything and really helped me to understand the needs of my car. Fair prices and amazing customer service. Thank you, Nazieh.
