Southwest Engines Introduce

Located at 25333 E 5th St, San Bernardino, CA 92410, USA, Southwest Engines operates as a local Auto Repair Station catering to the automotive needs of the community. With contact numbers (909) 888-1333 and +1 909-888-1333, they offer a range of services, seemingly with a specialization in engine-related work. Understanding the environment, services, features, and any available promotional information is crucial for local users seeking reliable car repair.

Based on the limited information available online, particularly the customer reviews, it's challenging to paint a comprehensive picture of the physical environment of Southwest Engines. Typically, an auto repair shop would include a service bay area equipped with lifts, tools, and diagnostic equipment necessary for working on vehicles. There would also likely be a customer waiting area or office where clients can discuss their repair needs and handle paperwork. However, without further details or visuals, this remains a general assumption based on the nature of an auto repair station.

The primary service highlighted in the provided information is engine work, specifically engine rebuilding. One customer review explicitly mentions having an SR20VE engine rebuilt with high-compression pistons. This suggests that Southwest Engines possesses the expertise to handle complex engine overhauls and modifications. Engine rebuilding involves disassembling an engine, inspecting and machining components, and reassembling it with new or refurbished parts. This service requires specialized knowledge and equipment, indicating a certain level of technical capability at Southwest Engines.

However, the second customer review presents a starkly contrasting experience. This review describes a significant issue with a delivered engine that was reportedly "low mileage and clean" but turned out to be "really bad and locked up." The subsequent claim of a voided warranty due to multiple reasons given by the same person within a short timeframe raises serious concerns about the shop's quality control, customer service, and warranty practices. This feedback suggests potential inconsistencies in their service delivery and customer relations.

Features of Southwest Engines, based on the available information, appear to center around their capability to perform engine rebuilds, including potentially handling performance modifications as suggested by the high-compression piston installation. The fact that the first customer returned for a second rebuild after a self-admitted issue ("my fault") might indicate some level of satisfaction with the initial workmanship on the non-damaged components. However, the significant issues raised in the second review highlight the importance of thorough communication, accurate representation of goods, and transparent warranty policies.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information provided for Southwest Engines. Auto repair shops sometimes offer discounts on specific services, seasonal maintenance packages, or special offers to attract new customers or reward loyal ones. Local users would need to contact Southwest Engines directly or check local listings and advertisements to ascertain if any promotions are currently available.

Given the conflicting nature of the two customer reviews, it is difficult to provide a definitively objective introduction. The positive review suggests competence in engine rebuilding, while the negative review raises serious concerns about the quality of supplied goods and customer service. Local users considering Southwest Engines should be aware of these contrasting experiences. It might be prudent to inquire in detail about their processes, warranties, and to seek additional references or testimonials if available.

As an Auto Repair Station, Southwest Engines is positioned to provide essential services for vehicle maintenance and repair, particularly focusing on engine work. The ability to rebuild engines, as indicated by one review, can be a valuable service for those needing more than just routine maintenance. However, the issues raised in the other review regarding the quality of a supplied engine and warranty handling are significant red flags that potential customers should consider carefully. It underscores the importance of clear communication, thorough inspection of any provided parts or vehicles, and a complete understanding of the warranty terms before engaging their services.

In conclusion, Southwest Engines in San Bernardino appears to specialize in engine rebuilding services. While one customer reported a positive experience with a rebuild, another detailed significant problems with a supplied engine and subsequent warranty issues. Local users should approach with caution, seek detailed information about their specific needs, and consider the mixed feedback when deciding whether to utilize the services of Southwest Engines. Further investigation and potentially seeking multiple opinions might be advisable before entrusting them with significant repair work.

Southwest Engines Customer Reviews

Had my sr20ve rebuilt with higher compression pistons. Motor ran great till I killed the piston rings from detonation. When I took the motor apart everything else was in really good shape other than the pistons which was my fault. Had them rebuild that motor with better goodies.

We are a Big shop with a big impact here in south Texas we were to get a motor delivered low mileage and clean what we got was really bad and locked up they then told us our warranty was void due to 3 different reasons from the same person in the course of 15 min stay away from this place are now having to dispute charges.

This is a horrible business!!!! Customer service is atrocious. They sold me an engine and I had Meineke Auto try to install it. When they did they found sludge amd metal shavings in the oil pan. They took of the manifold to find a valve that was no good and a crack in the block. I reached out to SW Engines for a refund. They asked for pics of the damage which I sent them only to have them deny my refund because "the engine was taken apart". I mean how else are the certified mechanics supposed to see if the engine is good to begin with? SW Engines are crooks. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!

Excellent experience from start to finish. Timely, straight forward instructions on ordering, tracking, delivery and warranty requirements. I expect and certainly hope my engine is excellent as well. However, the ASE mechanic stated the engine appeared to have more than the 81,000 miles as sold with some parts painted to look newer. But, it is running smoothly and so far so good. Will update in the weeks to come -would like to give five stars.

Really wish I could have given a better review but in light of how they handled our situation I have no other choice. First the engine (2005 5.9 Cummings) came in a little over a week, not outrageous but certainly not fast. I could have gotten one locally for about $500 more but the reviews said they were great and $500 is $500. the engine cost me $6495 delivered so we expected a RUNNING engine. Our certified mechanic installed it and we had issues from the start. Blowing blue smoke out the tailpipe not the diesel kind so we started replacing peripheral parts because "it couldn't be the engine" so several thousand dollars later in parts and time all that was left was to look at the engine. Well when we opened up the engine and found 3 out of 6 sets of piston rings were bad, as in broken, and SW Engines was no longer returning emails or calls. We sent the engine to a machinist to rebuild this "good block" . He came back with this has already been bored 30 over and a crank journal was bad we knew we did not receive anything close to a good engine. Then SW Engines sent a new random email asking when they could pick up the engine, still no offer to make it right just take the evidence back. So I made another phone call this time Scott answered in "customer service" and stated tersely "once we receive the engine back we will refund the pruchase" STILL NOTHING OF THE $7500 I HAVE SPENT FIXING THE BOAT ANCHOR THEY SENT ME! So now we have to get Lawyers involved and pay all the extra money to them instead of a reputable company settling for partial reimbursement and saying oops sorry we messed up. DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE, from my point of view they are not a reputable company.
