Smogs Just Smogs Introduce

Welcome to Smogs Just Smogs, an Auto Repair Station located at 11468 Gateway Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90064, USA. As part of the Auto Repair Stations category, Smogs Just Smogs primarily offers smog check services, which are essential for vehicle registration in California. Based on recent customer feedback, it appears that Smogs Just Smogs aims for a quick service model, with one reviewer noting a smog test completed in under 10 minutes for a 2003 vehicle and highlighting the convenience of not requiring an appointment.

Information regarding the specific environment of Smogs Just Smogs is limited. However, one customer described the waiting area as having "no frills," consisting of just two chairs. This suggests a functional but basic setup, prioritizing efficiency in processing smog checks over elaborate customer amenities. Customers seeking a comfortable or amenity-rich waiting experience may find the environment to be quite spartan.

The primary service offered at Smogs Just Smogs is, as the name suggests, smog testing for vehicles. One positive aspect mentioned is the speed of the service. A customer reported a very quick turnaround time for their smog check. Additionally, the lack of a requirement for appointments could be seen as a convenience for those needing a smog test on short notice or without prior planning. The cost mentioned by one reviewer was $55 for a 2003 vehicle, although it's important to note that pricing can vary based on the type and year of the vehicle.

However, recent customer experiences also highlight potential drawbacks. One reviewer described an interaction with a representative who was on the phone throughout the initial process, using only hand gestures for communication. This lack of verbal interaction and engagement was perceived negatively by the customer. Furthermore, this customer felt rushed through the payment process and was not given an opportunity to verify if an online coupon was applied before being promptly ushered out after the test was completed.

Another concerning review from a customer who had been a patron for years indicates a significant shift in their experience. This long-term customer reported a substantial price increase for a subsequent smog check, jumping from a previous average of $90 to $210, without any clear explanation for the drastic change. This customer also cited poor customer service, including being kept waiting for an extended period due to a personal phone call by the service provider and feeling overcharged. This negative feedback raises concerns about potential inconsistencies in pricing and a decline in customer service quality.

Based on the provided reviews, there is no explicit mention of any current promotional offers from Smogs Just Smogs. One customer attempted to use an online coupon but was not able to confirm if it was applied due to the rushed nature of the transaction. Potential customers may need to inquire directly about any available discounts or coupons at the time of service.

In summary, Smogs Just Smogs in Los Angeles offers smog check services with the potential for quick turnaround and the convenience of not needing an appointment. However, recent customer feedback indicates significant concerns regarding customer service, including a lack of engagement, a feeling of being rushed, and potential issues with transparency in pricing. One long-term customer reported a drastic and unexplained price increase, coupled with poor service. While the speed of service might be appealing to some, the reported negative experiences with customer interaction and pricing should be carefully considered by potential customers.

Local users in the Los Angeles area who require a smog check may find the speed and no-appointment policy of Smogs Just Smogs to be advantageous. However, it is advisable to be prepared for a potentially basic waiting environment and to be proactive in confirming pricing, including the application of any coupons, before payment. The contrasting experiences in the reviews suggest that customer service quality and pricing consistency may be areas of concern. Therefore, it would be prudent for new customers to clearly communicate their expectations and confirm all charges before the smog test is conducted.

Considering the information available, Smogs Just Smogs appears to be a service-focused Auto Repair Station catering specifically to smog checks. While the efficiency of the smog testing process is a noted positive, the negative feedback regarding customer service and pricing transparency cannot be ignored. Potential customers should weigh these factors when deciding whether to utilize the services offered at Smogs Just Smogs. It may be beneficial to seek clarification on pricing upfront and to be prepared for a potentially impersonal service experience based on the recent reviews.

Smogs Just Smogs Customer Reviews

TLDR: Smog test was done in less than 10 minutes, no appointment needed, cost $55 for my 2003 vehicle. Service wasn't great. I came in and there was no line, the representative was on the phone the entire time, using only hand gestures to communicate to me. "Pull in here", "keys?", "paper for certification?". I waited in their office while he was servicing my car - no frills here, just two chairs. He only spoke to me to ask how I was going to pay for the smog test. I handed him my card and asked him to apply their online $10 coupon. After he processed my card, I sat back down to check how much the smog test was online since I wasn't sure if he had applied the coupon. After less than 30 seconds, the guy says, "Miss your car is done..." Basically ushered me out without giving me a chance to price check what was going on. Even when there was no one else in line. I appreciate how quick the process was, but I will not be back. Taking my business elsewhere where I don't feel rushed.

I have been coming here for years and the guy that worked there was always fast and honest but not anymore. I took my car here again for another smog, I called asking if there is a wait and he said there is not and I will be in and out. I get there and they had no other customers so he has me pull into the car port and when he is about to start gets a call from his boyfriend and keeps me waiting 45 mins, I finally gets off the phone and smogs my car and gives me the bill of $210, I asked him why the huge price jump since I’ve never paid more then $90, he just said .. that’s what I charge with no other explanation. He just over charges so he can pocket the extra. Customer service is non existent and I won’t be returning to this shop, and would WARN anyone thinking of going here… DON’T!

I happen to be at Big O Tires and needed a smog check. Since they were next-door, I went for a smog, without reading any reviews. While my car was being checked, I read a few reviews that were bad. I’m not sure why they had a bad experience, but mine was perfect. In and out in 15 minutes. Reasonably priced at $60 after using the $10 online coupon.

No markup based on vehicle. Most places hear 'Porsche' and the price goes up. It's so refreshing to have a non price-discriminatory business around. Pricing is based on model year - makes sense.
