Avoid this smog station at all costs. The technician failed my vehicle for a visual inspection due to an aftermarket catalytic converter. I found it surprising because the car had passed smog several times previously. After discussing with the technician, we agreed on a payment to proceed. However, upon researching the California Air Resources Board's approved list of aftermarket catalytic converters, I discovered that mine was indeed on the approved list for California. Despite this, the technician insisted it failed. When I presented this information, the technician refused to consider it and refunded my money. We had a discussion about mistakes, but he didn't want to take responsibility. Instead, he was willing to accept more money to redo the smog test. This experience showed me that this business lacks integrity.

I called them this Sunday asking about getting my car smogged. They said to come in tomorrow and told me they can do a pretest without it going on my cars smog record. They also quoted me a price. The next day, I tried calling them to confirm the location but they didn't answer. I got a text message back saying their san jose location had closed for an emergency and that I could go to the Santa Clara location instead. I called them back to confirm that they are able to test my car that day and they said yes to bring it in. I drove all the way from east San jose to Santa Clara to the other location. Waited about 20 minutes whole they smogged another vehicle. Then it was finally my turn the guy told me to pull up my car. My car sat there running for about 20 minutes while he fiddled with the tester. I asked him if it was gonna take much longer and he said the machine wasn't calibrated because they forgot to calibrate it so I had to wait. After waiting for almost an hour he came back and said they can't calibrate the machine and can't smog my car. So I wasted a bunch of gas, driving time and waiting time for nothing and I only had one day this month to get this done because I'm always traveling out of state for work. They also had much higher prices than what they quoted me on the phone. This place is incompetent, shady and doesn't respect customers time..I called the lady I had spoken to back and told.her what happened and all she could say was that she was sorry and they have no way of knowing if the machine is calibrated or not. Doesn't sound professional to me.and the state should consider canceling their license. Never going to any smog queen again

It's a great place to get smogged. I was in and out in under 10 minutes. I was a little worried cause I was trying to get my beater 2001 honda civic smog checked and I just did some repairs to clear out the check engine light but everything worked.

Arrived 10 minutes after opening on a Saturday. I was pleasantly surprised to only have to wait for 15 minutes. The workshop is clean and the waiting area is comfortable. Friendly and efficient. You'll pay a little more than other shops in the area, even with the coupon but worth it in my mind. The check was done in 15 minutes. I'll be back.

This is my second year going to Smog Queen for a smog check, and I wouldn't go anywhere else now. Customer service is great, there is hardly a wait, and it's a nice spacious lot to come into for a smog check. I'll be coming to Smog Queen next time too!

Called before coming here and they said they were not busy. I came here on a week day around 10am. Was in and out within 15 mins. There’s a waiting room as well
