Shariff's Auto Repair Introduce

Shariff's Auto Repair, located at 704 12th St SE, Rochester, MN 55904, USA, operates within the "Auto Repair Stations" platform category. This classification indicates that Shariff's Auto Repair is equipped to provide services related to the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of vehicles, offering both labor and necessary parts to address automotive issues. As a local auto repair shop, it serves the immediate Rochester community, catering to drivers in need of mechanical assistance.

Information regarding the specific environment of Shariff's Auto Repair is limited to inferences from customer comments. The review mentioning "did the work on the spot while I worked up the road" suggests a functional workshop environment where repairs can be performed promptly. While not explicitly detailed, a typical auto repair station would have a practical setup with service bays, tools, and equipment necessary for various automotive tasks. The quick turnaround time implied by the review points to an efficient operation, at least in some instances. However, the conflicting nature of the reviews makes it difficult to form a complete picture of the consistent customer experience within the physical space.

Based on its classification as an "Auto Repair Station," Shariff's Auto Repair is expected to offer a range of general automotive repair services. The positive review specifically mentions identifying "exactly what was wrong with my car" and performing the "work on the spot," suggesting capabilities in **diagnosis and immediate repair**. This would typically include common services such as **brake repair**, **engine diagnostics**, and addressing various mechanical issues that cause a vehicle to malfunction. While specific services like oil changes, tire rotations, or more complex transmission work are not explicitly mentioned in the available reviews, a general auto repair shop would typically provide these. The emphasis appears to be on problem identification and efficient resolution for mechanical failures.

The distinctive features of Shariff's Auto Repair present a mixed perspective based on the provided customer feedback. On one hand, a positive review highlights the mechanic's ability to accurately diagnose a problem without being prompted, suggesting **strong diagnostic skills** and **mechanical competence**. The customer also noted "cheaper than most shops" pricing and "fair price," along with "Great work, great service," and the convenience of "work on the spot." This indicates potential strengths in **affordability, efficiency, and quality of repair work**. However, this positive sentiment is directly contrasted by a very negative review. This review describes the owner, 'Sheriff,' as having "the worst customer service I have ever encountered," being a "Rude man," and engaging in highly unethical behavior, specifically stating he "sold my car without my consent and pocket the money." This severe allegation raises serious concerns about **customer trust, ethical practices, and overall business integrity**. The conflicting accounts make it challenging to provide a definitive objective assessment of the business's consistent features without more comprehensive and verifiable information.

Given the conflicting nature of the available customer reviews, specific promotional information for Shariff's Auto Repair is not detailed in the public domain, nor can one reliably infer typical promotional strategies. Auto repair shops generally rely on word-of-mouth and customer satisfaction to drive business. If the positive aspects of fair pricing and quick service are consistently delivered, they would serve as informal promotions. However, the severe negative feedback regarding customer service and alleged unethical practices could significantly impact any formal promotional efforts. Typically, local repair shops might offer discounts on routine maintenance, free inspections, or seasonal specials. However, in this case, any promotional activities would likely be overshadowed by the need to address the significant concerns raised by a customer review. For anyone considering Shariff's Auto Repair, it would be advisable to contact them directly at (507) 226-8232 or +1 507-226-8232 to discuss their specific automotive needs and perhaps gain a direct impression before committing to service.

Shariff's Auto Repair Customer Reviews

Doesn’t have receipts but will give you a copy and what he ordered. He charges cheaper than most shops (not by much) but gives a fair price (I knew what was wrong with my car and didn’t tell him and he told me exactly what was wrong) did the work on the spot while I worked up the road. Great work, great service, just a little sloppy on paperwork but that doesn’t define a mechanic.

The owner ‘Sherrif’ of this place is the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Rude man, he acted like a criminal associate with Samalian gangster. No respect for anyone. He sold my car without my consent and pocket the money. I would never recommend to anyone. Take my words for it, take your car somewhere else.

I'm not sure if I just had an abnormally bad experience here or if this place is just terrible. I went in cause my car wasn't starting, the tow truck driver suggested it so I trusted him. They kept saying they would call me to tell me what's going in and they never called. I called them a couple times before getting an answer. They said it would be ready the next day and it wasn't ready until 2 days later- and again, no phone call saying it was ready. I got there and they didn't explain what had happened. I had to ask a lot of questions just to get the whole story. They said the alternator was bad and there was a short in the wiring. Total bill was around $300. I did not get a paper receipt explaining what they did, just a digital copy saying I paid. Fast forward 6 weeks and my car is having the same issue as before. I figured since it's only been a little over a month there would be some sort of warranty or guarantee on the parts and labor. I've called them countless times and they have not replied. I was sent to voicemail immediately a couple times, seems they are ducking my calls. I took it to Tilsons Auto and they said Shariff's put a used alternator and also there was a random wire from the alternator to the battery that is not normal. It's going to take Tilsons hours to diagnose and figure out what Shariff' s did to my car. I should have never gone there in the first place. Please avoid this auto shop. I had a bad feeling about it from the beginning and I should have trusted my gut. TLDR: DO NOT GO HERE.

Sharif had a mechanic working on my car who made mistakes and should have been supervised. However, Sharif does not seem to spend much time there at the shop, so that supervision was lacking. The mechanic's mistakes resulted in my car catching on fire and needing repairs for the damages. Sharif worked with me on making things right, but his inaccessibility, never at the shop, does not return phone calls, all contributed to incredible grief in fixing what should have been done right in the first place. I will not go back there again, it is just asking for trouble and headaches.
