Sham Auto Introduce

Located at 3701 N 15th St, Tampa, FL 33610, USA, Sham Auto operates within the "Auto Repair Stations" category, offering various services for vehicle maintenance and repair. They can be reached by phone at (813) 299-7611 or mobile at +1 813-299-7611.

Environment and Operations

As an auto repair station, Sham Auto would typically feature a workshop environment designed for vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and repair. This usually includes a bay area for lifting vehicles, various tools and equipment for mechanical work, and a waiting area for customers. The practical setup of such a facility focuses on functionality to facilitate the repair process. While specific details about the cleanliness, organization, or amenities of their waiting area are not provided, these aspects can vary widely between different auto repair shops. The address on N 15th St suggests accessibility for residents within the Tampa area.

Services Offered

Like most auto repair stations, Sham Auto would be expected to provide a range of services to address common vehicle issues and maintenance needs. Based on the customer review mentioning "a MOTOR put in," it's clear they undertake significant mechanical work, such as engine replacements. This suggests they are equipped to handle complex repairs beyond routine maintenance.

Typical services offered by a general auto repair shop like Sham Auto often include, but are not limited to:

  • Engine Repair and Replacement: As evidenced by the customer review, this would be a core service.
  • Diagnostic Services: To identify the root cause of vehicle problems, often involving scanning the vehicle's computer system for trouble codes.
  • Brake System Services: Including inspection, repair, and replacement of brake pads, rotors, calipers, and fluid.
  • Steering and Suspension Repair: Addressing issues with alignment, shocks, struts, power steering, and other components affecting vehicle handling and ride comfort. The customer review specifically mentions a power steering problem developing after service, which would fall under this category.
  • Oil Changes and Fluid Services: Routine maintenance essential for vehicle longevity.
  • Tire Services: Including rotation, balancing, and replacement.
  • AC and Heating System Repair: Ensuring climate control systems are functioning correctly.
  • Electrical System Diagnostics and Repair: Addressing issues with wiring, lighting, alternators, and starters.
  • Transmission Services: Maintenance and repair of automatic and manual transmissions.
Features and Customer Feedback

The features of Sham Auto, as perceived by customers, are largely reflected in the provided reviews. These reviews paint a critical picture of the business's current operations and customer satisfaction.

One customer issued a "WARNING, WARNING!!!" and advised, "DON'T do business with SHAMS AGAIN..." This review stems from an experience where a power steering problem allegedly arose after an engine replacement, an issue the customer claims was not present before the service. The customer's frustration is evident when they state the shop "said he didn't do nothing" regarding the new issue. This suggests a perceived lack of accountability or acknowledgment of potential new problems arising post-service. The customer also mentions a significant decline in service quality, noting, "I had good work did when his DAD was there it was Soo much better." This implies a perceived generational shift in the quality of service. The strong advice to "video record your vehicle before leaving it" highlights a concern about potential further damage or issues occurring while the vehicle is in the shop's care. The review concludes with "Bad Business DON'T DO IT PERIOD 馃槫," indicating a highly negative experience.

Another review corroborates this sentiment, stating, "This place use to be a great shop when Black was around....I've been going here for 15+ years and now that the son(s) are in charged this place is slowly being destroyed....these guys have no clue how to run a auto repair shop! They have caused me nothing but money and headaches. ...GO THERE AT YOUR OWN RISK!" This review reinforces the idea of a significant deterioration in service quality and management since a change in leadership. The long-term customer's disappointment is palpable, as they describe experiencing "nothing but money and headaches." The repeated warnings like "GO THERE AT YOUR OWN RISK!" emphasize the considerable dissatisfaction and caution for potential new customers.

These reviews collectively suggest that, from the perspective of these customers, key features such as diagnostic accuracy, quality of workmanship, customer communication, and overall professionalism have been compromised. The recurrent theme is a perceived decline in reliability and trustworthiness compared to previous operations.

Promotional Information and Customer Considerations

Based on the provided customer feedback, any promotional information from Sham Auto would likely need to address the concerns raised. Reputable auto repair shops often highlight their experienced technicians, comprehensive diagnostic capabilities, transparent pricing, and customer satisfaction guarantees. However, the existing reviews suggest a challenging environment for positive promotion, as they heavily emphasize negative customer experiences, particularly concerning accountability and the quality of work post-leadership change.

For local users considering Sham Auto, the reviews serve as a critical piece of information. They strongly advise caution and suggest that potential customers might consider documented proof of their vehicle's condition before and after service. The historical context provided by the long-term customer, highlighting a past reputation of being a "great shop," indicates that the business may have undergone significant internal changes that have impacted its operational standards as perceived by some of its clientele. When choosing an auto repair station, factors such as clear communication, written estimates, and a track record of reliable service are often paramount for customers. The available information for Sham Auto, while limited, strongly conveys a need for customers to proceed with extreme caution and due diligence.

Sham auto is a SHAM! Don't waste your time nor money there. He is very rude and disrespectful and not a man of his word. He trys to talk to you any kind of way because he believes you NEED him, no there are plenty of shops with people who will respect you and give you quality work and have the work completed when promised.
