My daughter hit a deer and the insurance co. tried to get me to go to their “preferred shop” but I had a bad experience with them the last time so I chose to find my own place…..thank goodness I did!!!! The owner was amazing! He made me feel comfortable going in my own direction and kept me updated with the progress. The car was done fast and looked PERFECT! He went above and beyond! Cleaned the car and even the engine before we picked up! First time ever dealing with a repair shop that was professional and honest. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Well, my experience at Schnell Auto Body in Petersburg, Ohio (a home garage), was certainly... memorable. From start to finish, the interaction left a lot to be desired. The business operates out of a home garage, and the owner, Brian, managed to tick several boxes of unprofessional behavior in record time. Let’s just say that if you’re looking for courteous or respectful service, this might not be your place. My car was towed there from Acura of Boardman on 11 November 2024. Brian called to confirm the car’s arrival—a basic courtesy, I suppose. Things went downhill quickly after that. When I followed up on 18 November to ask for an estimated timeline of completion, Brian’s tone was nothing short of hostile. He let me know, quite loudly, that USAA was sourcing parts “from all over the world” and that any damaged parts would need to be replaced, further delaying repairs. Oh, and he made it crystal clear he had 14 other vehicles ahead of mine, but maybe—just maybe—he’d consider moving my car up since I was out of state. His parting advice? I was welcome to take my car elsewhere. Charming. By 21 November, I received another call. This time, Brian sounded confused, unsure whether I wanted him to start the repair or if I planned to pick up the car. After recounting his rude behavior from our previous conversation, I decided enough was enough. I told him I’d collect my car the next day. That’s when the surprise fees started rolling in: $150 for the unauthorized tow and $45 per day for storage. Cash only, of course. It’s a good thing I didn’t bring a checkbook—what was I thinking? On 22 November, I arrived to retrieve my vehicle. After handing over the $150 (because arguing wasn’t getting me anywhere), I requested a receipt. Instead of giving the key fob directly to me, Brian handed it to my friend Zach. How thoughtful. Maybe sexist or racist, maybe even both, I do not know. In any case Zach loaded the car onto the trailer, and we left, ending an experience I wouldn’t wish on anyone. In summary, if you’re looking for a repair shop that values professionalism and respect, you might want to keep searching. But hey, if you enjoy paying surprise fees and dealing with unprofessional behavior, Brian might be your guy.

Schnell autobody does the best work i have ever seen. Absolutely amazing above and beyond expectations. Can’t say enough good things about them. I Will never use any other bodyshop.

This man knows his stuff! He’s honest and fair priced. He goes out of his way and does extra things he doesn’t have to! I feel like I have a brand new car! I will ALWAYS go to him if I need my car done! I can’t say enough great things about him. I will continue by word of mouth to spread the great work he does. If you don’t go to him it will be the biggest mistake of your life!!!! Thank you so much!
