RockAuto, LLC Customer Reviews

Check your prices before you order. I ordered a few items on 12/21/24 and the order was shipped fairly quickly from two different warehouses. No big deal.... but Received both boxes on the same day, one box had come open during shipping and one item was missing. I had to finagle my way through the website to get a refund for the missing item. Finally got that figured out and got my refund quickly.....however... Was looking for additional parts for my truck today, 12/28/24 and decided to look up one of the parts I just ordered and received. I noticed the same part today has a price 81.00 cheaper than when I ordered it on 12/21/24. I have been trying to contact them to see why such a price difference in a week. Still waiting for a response. So check those prices before you order. I'll update my review if they contact me back and work something out. ** update ** They claim their pricing is based on what it costs to source the part ordered at the time of the order. Apparently they utilize the "demand" style pricing where prices change in a matter of minutes or hours. Looked up the part 3 or 4 days before ordering and it was close to the price listed today, but when I ordered, the price had increased by 81.00....I will no longer be ordering my parts from them. For an OEM Motorcraft part, at the price these guys charged, I could've gotten it in hand on the same day for 25.00 less....

I got scammed out of $300 CAD I tried ordering rear shock x2. Canada Post goes on strike and won’t take package. It’s sitting in FedEx facility. I call FedEx to see why my package keeps getting delayed. I asked if I can change address or pickup from facility. They say I have to contact RockAuto to change address and that they can let me pickup due to RockAutos policy. I email RockAuto to see if I can change address, they said they can’t due to their policy and that I’d have to return it to them and get my refund and order again if I want the parts. I tried making a report to return the package on the website but it doesn’t give me any option. So I email back to ask if they can do it on their end. They got back to me saying maybe you can request for pickup at the facility. I email back saying I can’t due to your policy and how can I make a return. I get an email back from them saying I can’t pick up due to their policy. I tried emailing back but they closed my ticket. I ask for a supervisor but they never got back to after saying they’ll have a supervisor review my order. I call FedEx to see if they can make a return and they said yes. Then I get an email back from RockAuto about my refund and i’m only getting $37.86 USD which is $53.17 CAD back. I payed over $300 CAD. This was my first time ordering from here and I was recommended from friends and family to use but after this and them being unhelpful I don’t recommend anyone to ever use them.

I placed an order for a new clutch after mine failed. I paid extra to have it shipped to me in 5 days, because I only have one car. Six days later, and the UPS tracker still says it hasn't left the warehouse. I email RockAuto to ask what's going on, and they give me a canned answer about how sometimes the tracking isn't updated and to wait until Nov. 1. I wait, the shipping still isn't updated -- I call UPS on Nov. 1 and they say they lost the package. I email Rock Auto again, and they give me the same canned answer -- except now they tell me I have to wait until Nov 7. No communication about where my parts are, no communication about if they're even on their way, and now they aren't even answering their "customer service" email. If you're depending on a part, do not depend on Rock Auto.

I just order from rock auto recently. I’ve had no problem with my parts so far, and can’t complain about the shipping time, but reading these reviews has me not wanting to use them again. Sounds like I’d be SOL if I had any kind of issue. Customer service is part of your product and it seems they’re neglecting it massively. Can’t stand dealing with back and forth emails and paying return shipping on parts that were sent damaged, so I’ll probably be going elsewhere moving forward. Might want to work on that rock auto. Really surprised by all the negative reviews here... I have purchased multiple auto parts from RockAuto over the course of several years and had nothing but positive experiences. The RockAuto website is excellent and always offers the top brands and numerous choices. Their prices are always the lowest around (local parts stores can't compete), and shipping is always reasonable. I often order brake rotors and other heavy parts and have never received a damaged shipment. RockAuto provides an estimated shipping date when you order and so far they have never missed an on time delivery. RockAuto is by far the best place to buy auto parts, period. They have a customer for life.

Customer Service is non existent for this company. I was initially given a really not helpful Ai response. When I finally got an associate to communicate with they closed the communication ticket after one email back and forth. These are the “matching calipers” I was sent and told I was SOL. I Offered to cover shipping both ways if someone could actually look at a part number and send me one that was alittle closer in fit and finish. I ordered the right parts and this is the trash service I get. I’d be embarrassed if I got a brake job and this is what I ended up with. Clearly they just want to charge you the parts restocking fee and don’t want resolution for the customer. Thanks again I really do appreciate the stellar service.

Rockauto is a fantastic auto parts supplier. You have to really understand what parts your buying , which aftermarket parts vendors are the best quality and finally you need to know where they are coming from and plan your project accordingly. If you have an issue you have to be patient, and be prepared to eat return shipping if you did not research properly. The prices are always the best and if your savy you can by quality clearance parts for a fraction of retail.

Avoid RockAuto at All Costs – Worst Customer Service Ever! If I could give RockAuto zero stars, I would. This company is a complete scam. They take your money, send the wrong or defective parts, and then completely disappear when you try to get help. Their so-called "customer service" is non-existent—good luck getting a response to an email because they flat-out ignore you. No phone support, no real way to get help, just an endless loop of automated garbage that gets you nowhere. And if you think you'll get a refund easily, think again. They’ll give you the runaround, make you pay for return shipping (even if it’s their mistake), or just refuse to take the part back at all. At this point, they might as well be thieves because they take your money and leave you stuck with junk parts. Do yourself a favor—spend a little extra and buy from a company that actually values customers. RockAuto is the worst in the business, and I wouldn’t trust them with a lawnmower part, let alone anything for my car. Buyers beware!

Needed to return a bad OEM power brake booster under a two-year warranty. I followed the directions carefully and had no issues. They give you the option of returning the part first and they ship out the replacement after inspection. I chose to have them bill my credit card and reimburse me after the part was returned to them. I got the replacement part the next day! I shipped the bad part with their shipper label, got a confirmation e-mail in a couple of days and then the notice of credit to my credit card in about three days.

I always order my brakes and rotors from this site, and I never had an issue until recently. However, I believe it was UPS fault because the box was damaged, so now my rotors are warped. Next time, I will be waiting for my delivery at the door, and if the box is damaged, the delivery person will have to take it back immediately.
