R & R Auto Salvage Introduce

Located at 11700 Old Woodbury Rd, Laingsburg, MI 48848, USA, R & R Auto Salvage operates within the platform category of Auto Repair Stations. While primarily known as a salvage yard, their function within this category is to provide essential parts and components that enable auto repair and maintenance. This makes them a vital resource for individuals and professional mechanics alike who are seeking cost-effective solutions for vehicle upkeep and restoration.

As an auto parts store operating within the broader 'Auto Repair Stations' category, R & R Auto Salvage serves as a direct supplier of goods—specifically, used auto parts—that are integral to the repair process. Instead of offering direct repair services themselves, they provide the necessary components, such as engines, transmissions, body panels, and a myriad of smaller parts, that mechanics and DIY enthusiasts use to fix vehicles. This distinction is crucial; they facilitate the repair process by making parts accessible, often at a significantly lower cost than new components, thereby supporting the entire ecosystem of auto repair in the local area.

The environment at R & R Auto Salvage, typical of many salvage yards, is characterized by extensive outdoor storage areas filled with various makes and models of vehicles. These vehicles, often deemed beyond economical repair in their entirety, are systematically disassembled to harvest usable parts. Visitors can expect to navigate through rows of cars, trucks, and SUVs, organized (or sometimes seemingly unorganized) to allow for the extraction of components. While the setting is inherently industrial, the focus is on functionality and the recovery of valuable resources. It’s a place where the lifecycle of a vehicle extends beyond its road-faring days, contributing to a more sustainable approach to auto maintenance by promoting reuse.

When it comes to services, R & R Auto Salvage primarily focuses on the sale of used auto parts. Customers can typically inquire about specific parts they need, and the staff will either direct them to the location of the part within the yard for self-service removal (common for certain types of parts or for experienced individuals) or, more often, retrieve the part for them. They aim to provide a wide range of components for various vehicle makes and models, catering to a diverse customer base. While the primary service is parts retrieval and sale, a crucial aspect of their operation is the knowledge and assistance provided by their staff regarding part identification and compatibility. This can be especially important given the vast inventory typically found in a salvage yard.

One of the key features of R & R Auto Salvage, as with any reputable auto salvage operation, is the potential for significant cost savings. Used parts are almost always more affordable than new OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts or even aftermarket alternatives. This makes them an attractive option for budget-conscious consumers, classic car enthusiasts looking for original components, or anyone undertaking a repair where new parts are prohibitively expensive or no longer manufactured. Their extensive inventory, built up over time from various salvaged vehicles, is another significant feature, increasing the likelihood that customers will find the specific part they need for a wide array of vehicles.

However, customer experiences at R & R Auto Salvage, as evidenced by online reviews, can vary. A positive experience highlights the helpfulness of staff members, such as Ron, who provided guidance and a positive interaction. This suggests that when staff are engaged and willing to assist, the experience can be very favorable, creating a welcoming atmosphere even in an industrial setting. For instance, one customer noted, "Ron was extremely helpful! 1st time here & Ron helped us back up and showed us where to go. Nice people make a good experience!" This underscores the importance of customer service in enhancing the overall perception of the business.

On the other hand, some customers have reported less satisfactory experiences. One review detailed difficulties in locating a specific part (a used rim) and a perceived lack of assistance from staff in verifying part compatibility. The customer expressed frustration, stating, "Not only did the staff refuse to locate the part for me, but also refused to tell me where, in the hundreds of random, unlabeled piles of parts, to find it. They wouldn't even tell me for certain whether they had one." This experience highlights a potential challenge with large inventories and the need for clear communication and customer support in navigating such an environment. The refusal to verify bolt patterns on an existing rim also points to an area where some customers might expect more hands-on assistance, especially when dealing with critical components. This particular review concluded with strong dissatisfaction, "I have never seen such unprofessional behavior. I won't be back. Ever."

These contrasting reviews suggest that while the potential for finding needed parts at a good price is high, the quality of the customer experience can heavily depend on the specific interaction and the level of assistance provided. For a business in the 'Auto Repair Stations' category, even if only providing parts, reliable and knowledgeable support can be crucial in ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business.

As for promotional information, R & R Auto Salvage primarily relies on its established presence and word-of-mouth within the local community. Their contact information, including phone numbers (517) 675-7288 and +1 517-675-7288, makes them easily reachable for inquiries about parts availability and pricing. Given the nature of a salvage yard, their best promotion comes from their ability to consistently supply a wide range of parts at competitive prices. While specific promotional offers aren't detailed in the provided information, businesses like R & R Auto Salvage often attract customers through the sheer necessity of their services and the economic advantage they offer over purchasing new components. Building a reputation for having a good inventory and helpful staff is often their most effective promotional strategy, as seen in the positive customer feedback when these elements are present.

On the advice of a few wheel repair shops around town, I went to this location with the understanding that I would be able to purchase a used rim to replace then one I bent when my vehicle hit a pothole. Not only did the staff refuse to locate the part for me, but also refused to tell me where, in the hundreds of random, unlabeled piles of parts, to find it. They wouldn't even tell me for certain whether they had one. They also refused to verify the bolt hole pattern and spacing on my existing rim, which just opens me to the chance of buying the wrong part; they insisted that I do it instead. Would I be asking for help if I knew how to do that? I have never seen such unprofessional behavior. I won't be back. Ever. If you bend a rim, just go to The Tire Factory. The guy must have spent 20 minutes on it, all in, and it's been holding air just fine ever since. I deliver for a living and it's still holding up a full week later. Everyone else said it was beyond repair. Now that is a place that wants to keep its customers.

Shady.. my husband made arrangements to have a couple cars towed away for scrap. He was not there when the driver came for pick up. After they were loaded, the driver handed me some folded up Cash. I glanced it and it was way short. When I called him on it, he just happened to have the difference exactly in his other pocket. This was some years back.. just saw them pop up in my reviews and am still pissed.Just getting my review in late because I feel it is still notable that this is how they conduct business.

Jonathan Stevens. First all we asked for your business card. YOU WOULDN'T GIVE IT TO HER. That would be any business asking for a dealer license. Also she asked her local police if that was pretty reasonable. They also said if they don't, don't sell them to him. I would appreciate you not talking about my mom like that.

R & R staff were terrific today while I had to salvage my 2001 Olds Silhouette (Ole Bessie) that I've had since it was brand new! ❤️
