Platinum Auto Sound Introduce

Platinum Auto Sound, located at 3436 N 5th St #38, Philadelphia, PA 19140, USA, operates within the broad category of "Auto Repair Stations," but specifically carves out its niche in vehicle customization, focusing on **window tinting and auto sound systems**. This specialization is key for local users seeking enhancements to their vehicle's aesthetics and audio experience. They can be contacted via phone at (215) 360-5718 or mobile at +1 215-360-5718.

Environment and Accessibility

The address at 3436 N 5th St, particularly with a unit number (#38), suggests a presence within a commercial complex or a strip mall. The environment at Platinum Auto Sound would typically include bays or a dedicated area for vehicle work, specifically designed for window tinting, which requires a clean and controlled environment to prevent dust and imperfections, and for audio installations, which need proper wiring and component integration. A customer waiting area and a counter for inquiries and transactions would also be part of the setup. The location in Philadelphia's 19140 zip code makes it accessible to a segment of the city's population looking for these particular automotive services.

Services and Goods for Sale

Platinum Auto Sound's primary services, as indicated by customer reviews, are:

  • **Window Tinting:** This involves applying a thin film to vehicle windows to reduce heat, glare, and UV radiation, as well as to enhance privacy and aesthetics. The customer review explicitly praises their speed and efficiency in this service.
  • **Auto Audio System Installation:** This includes the installation of car stereos, speakers, subwoofers, amplifiers, and potentially custom audio setups. While the positive review highlights the "audio" service, the negative review specifically mentions an "alarm installed," indicating they also handle vehicle security systems.
  • **Alarm Installation:** The ability to install car alarms suggests they cater to customers seeking enhanced security for their vehicles.

The "goods for sale" would primarily be the products related to these services: various types of window tint films with different shades and properties, a range of car audio components (head units, speakers, amplifiers, subwoofers from various brands), and different car alarm systems with varying features and functionalities.

Features and Customer Experience

Customer experiences with Platinum Auto Sound present a stark contrast, highlighting both potential strengths and significant weaknesses:

On the positive side, one customer highly commends the **speed and efficiency** of the service, particularly for window tinting. The reviewer was "in and out in no time really," with their entire truck tinted in just 30-40 minutes, which is described as "crazy" for anyone familiar with the usual waiting times for such a service. This suggests a highly diligent and skilled team capable of quick turnaround times. This efficiency is a major draw for customers who value their time. The reviewer's strong recommendation to "bring my card here now for anything" underscores a very positive and satisfying experience, indicating high trust and satisfaction with the quality and speed of work.

However, a highly concerning negative review severely impacts the overall impression. This review highlights issues related to **pricing transparency, ethical conduct, and perceived discrimination**. The customer recounts an incident where, after inquiring about alarm installation, one of the technicians allegedly made a comment in Spanish ("le voy a cobrar por tantas cosas," meaning "I'm going to charge him for so many things") assuming the customer didn't understand the language. The customer, who is Puerto Rican and does speak Spanish, felt targeted for potential overcharging due to this perceived lack of language proficiency or automotive knowledge. This incident points to potential issues with:

  • **Pricing Honesty and Transparency:** The implied intent to "overcharge" suggests a lack of upfront and fair pricing practices, particularly for customers who might be perceived as less informed.
  • **Professionalism and Ethical Conduct:** The alleged comment and the subsequent attempt to "laugh it off" after being confronted demonstrate a severe lapse in professional conduct and ethical business practices.
  • **Trust and Customer Respect:** The customer felt preyed upon and disrespected, leading to a strong recommendation to "Stay away from buying tires from here at all costs" and a sentiment of "Don't go to platinum auto sound for NOTHING on ur car because you will be ridiculously overcharged, especially if you don't speak Spanish or know anything about what your getting done to your vehicle or how much it SHOULD cost you." This indicates a deep breach of trust and a feeling of vulnerability among customers.

The conflicting reviews suggest that while Platinum Auto Sound may deliver on speed and quality for certain services (like tinting), there are significant concerns regarding their pricing practices and customer interaction, particularly when it comes to transparency and fair treatment. This inconsistency in customer experience is a critical factor for potential patrons to consider.

Promotional Information and Value Proposition

Based on the positive feedback, Platinum Auto Sound could promote itself on its **speed, efficiency, and skill** in delivering window tinting and audio installation services. Their value proposition, for some customers, would be getting high-quality customization work done quickly, allowing them to minimize disruption to their schedule. For those who experience positive interactions, the business is seen as a reliable place for specific vehicle enhancements.

However, any promotional messaging must be viewed in light of the severe negative feedback. While they might advertise quick service and expertise in tint and audio, the accusation of deliberate overcharging and unprofessional conduct significantly undermines their credibility. For local users, the decision to choose Platinum Auto Sound would involve weighing the potential for quick and efficient service against the risk of encountering questionable pricing practices and unprofessional behavior. It is vital for potential customers to be vigilant, perhaps seeking upfront quotes in writing and ensuring they understand the scope of work and pricing clearly before committing to any services, especially if they feel less confident about their automotive knowledge or language barriers.

Platinum Auto Sound Customer Reviews

This place is a great spot for tint and audio. The young guys in there are very diligent. I had a few cars ahead of me. They got me in and out in no time really. I thought I’d be waiting a lot longer but nope, sat got my entire truck tinted and was on my way in about 30-40 mins which is crazy if you have ever waited to get a car tinted you understand. I would recommend anybody come here and I will be bringing my card here now for anything.

I have no idea how the hell this place is still in business. I went here to get an alarm installed and 2 guys approached me asking what I needed. I asked how much for an alarm on a 2015 Kia Soul and one of them asked do I speak Spanish? I said no I don't speak Spanish, even though I'm Puerto Rican so of course I speak Spanish. The guy who asked me if I spoke Spanish looked at the other guy and said "le voy a cobrar por tantas cosas" which means " I'm going to charge him for so many things." I looked him straight in the eye and said "gracias por nada, me voy a otro lado" which means "thanks for nothing I'm going somewhere else". He tried to laugh it off and in Spanish he said "I knew u spoke Spanish because u have a Puerto Rican Flag tattoo on your forearm". Yeah right like I was going for that. He's lucky I didn't punch him in the face or pistol whip him. Don't go to platinum auto sound for NOTHING on ur car because you will be ridiculously overcharged, especially if you don't speak Spanish or know anything about what your getting done to your vehicle or how much it SHOULD cost you. YOUVE BEEN WARNED!!!

They did a great job on all of my window tinting jobs. Their hours are strange, and most of the time the tint person isn't in and you have to wait for him, but when he gets there, he's on point.
