First let me start by saying I don’t want this review to sound mean but I do need to be honest. I bought my explorer in 2023. It is a 2020 and only had 9700 miles when I purchased it. Less than 6 months after purchasing the vehicle the power transfer unit went out. All hill assist auto holds 4 wheel drive all of that had to be replaced. I called and made an appointment to have it fixed and what was supposed to be a 4 hour job turned to 2 days which the service people said I would have to pay to rent a vehicle from them to get to work the next day. Well I talked to the general manager (who is amazing) and he gave me a vehicle off the lot to drive. No problem after that until a few months ago I hear a knocking noise when I turn the vehicle left or right. Called again. Took back two times. First time service guy comes tells me I had to order parts will call when they come in and get you in. I looked at him and said want to tell me what’s wrong with it. Granted I am a woman but I drive my car everyday and I know when something isn’t right. Proceeded to tell me struts and stabilizing bar. Get the parts take it back supposed to be a one day fix. Yep you guessed it. They aren’t sure what is wrong they are narrowing it down. Changed the drive shaft still making the noise change the struts end caps. Noise is gone for one week until we are ready to go out of state. Now it’s making the noise again. I will be going somewhere else to get it fixed now. I’m pretty sure I got a lemon. I will never use their service department again. Not after they way I have been talked to and not talked to about what is really wrong with my car. A car having that less of miles and still don’t have 36,000 miles on it there should be nothing wrong with it.

The service writers were very helpful. They explained all the work needed and didn’t make me feel rushed. They answered all of my questions thoroughly. The repairs were accomplished as promised. I’ll be back for any other repairs or service needed, vs. the Ford dealership closer to my home. Great experience overall.

The guys and girls here are always friendly. They got me in for an oil change right away, checked over my whole car and even fixed an issue I was having with with my tire pressure sensor, without me asking them to do so. I will always recommend peru ford service department.
