After keeping my car for twice as long as quoted (and for more than $100 more than the estimate I was given 7 days earlier), I complained loudly to the service person and demanded that they finish my car before the end of the day. They did succeed in completing the car exactly by closing time; but upon driving out of the parking lot, I could hear a loud clicking noise in my left, front tire. I immediately stopped to investigate, and I found a 2-inch bolt driven into the tread of this tire. This was clearly done by shop personnel to “repay” me for demanding my car be repaired by end of day. Just off the phone with Pep Boys. Despite their automated response to a negative review that states that their company is concerned about my experience, they are now refusing to acknowledge or accept ANY responsibility for the actions of their staff in this matter. Not only do they refuse to take any punitive action against their technicians who perpetrated this vandalism, they refuse to compensate me the $327.00 that it cost me to replace and mount a replacement (and expensive) high-performance Continental tire. They now assert that I could have encountered this 2-inch, flathead bolt before they repaired my car that day; but when asked why then their staff didn’t bring this damaged tire to my attention before returning my car to me, they then pivot to say that it could have happened as I was leaving their parking lot - - in which case, they would still have (at least some) responsibility for the damage to my car’s tire. The facts remain that their staff became angry that I was pressuring them to repair my car within a 10-hour period, and vengefully vandalized my car to get back at me by driving a large bolt into my tire. Those are the facts. Don’t go to this shop.

This establishment was quite a few miles away from my primary residence. I usually use a 'Quick Oil business' but we recently moved and other Quick oil change business in proximity were showing 2- 3 stars more or less. Pep Boys pops up on my search with 4-5 star ratings @ 3.4m... so 'away we go!' Already made the call for an appointment for that morning for 1130am. Called half way there due to traffic explaining of late arrival. Walk in 24mins late, they are all busy doing their task, Emily approaches front counter and we start our dialog regarding vehicle. She asked for keys and explained process, (have a seat or come back), with delightful energy and other subjects we were conversing about, it was like I was a regular at that place. ( As a veteran with 3 previous tours ), it is important to have such a welcoming attitude on your busiest day, especially for a person like myself that has difficulty with sleep and always monitoring my surroundings). Emily was so helpful with the process before I left to wait for oil change she stated it would be done in 30-45 mins. It was my fault coming in 15-20mins pass appointment so I expected it to be at that time maybe more. I cross the street and walked to chicken place, ate, cameback and it was almost being parked for completion. Total time... 27mins! Thank you Emily and the Pep Boys Crew for getting us customers in n out of there safely and in a timely manner! Mark P.S. Called in about getting a plug due to a flat tire. They quoted $22. No problem. I scheduled an 8:30am appointment - but ended up waiting around until about 12:30pm (roughly 4 hours) for them to tell me they couldn’t get the wheel off at all. They suggested “breaking the rim” — which they quoted ~$500 just for the labor, let alone the price of a new tire, and a new rim. They also suggested another option which required removing a bunch of parts from the wheel well. They also refused to plug the tire with a basic plug. I ended up leaving. Called up and went over to another shop nearby. A small shop ran by a single gentlemen. He got the wheel off in maybe 30 seconds & plugged the tire quickly after. Charged me $25. It’s unfortunate that Pep Boys tried to do me dirty like this, as I was prepared to drop $500 for tires thru them — and now they will likely not get my business moving forward due to this slimy move they pulled recently. Be wary.

I went here for a regular oil change and rear breaks and it was a disaster. My flat tire light kept going on afterwards even when recalibrated. 1 week later I could hear scraping. I went to another shop who had to completely redo the rear breaks because they completely destroyed them. They also said I didn’t need front breaks until my next oil change but then the other shop said I absolutely needed them. Incompetent and lazy and will destroy your car.

Sunday call January 26, 2025 I made an appointment for several items to be addressed. Pep Boys only completed three of the items which was the oil change, tire rotation and driver side headlight bulb. At 2:57 I paid for my services. At 3:41 I received an inspection where the technician notated on the inspection sheet that there was a dirty air filter. It was only after I arrived home, I reviewed the receipt and inspection sheet that I noticed the technician’s notation. I called Pep Boys and was told I needed to make a second appointment. I I asked them why I wasn’t contacted so I could approve it to be changed out? She just apologized and then explain that I would have to make a second appointment. Reluctantly, I made the appointment for the next day. I arrived for the 2nd appointment the next day at around 12:30. I asked them to correct the air filter deficiency, and for them to Check the windshields water nozzle or hose because the water was barely coming out of the spout. She mentioned it might be a clog but that they would let me know the results. I asked her how long it would take she said approximately one hour and I told her that I would wait. About 1-1/2 hours later, my vehicle was completed. I asked her what was the result with the windshield water nozzle; she said it was clogged, but they didn’t have time to do it and I would have to make a 3rd appointment. I then asked what the charge would be, she said it would be around $113 to include the spout and an additional labor cost. I explained how ridiculous this was because I was physically there and they didn’t bother to notify me of anything. Pep Boys staff wasn’t even going to mention it to me until I asked about it. That is when she said they could schedule another appointment for following day. I explained that I would not be returning and this was ridiculous.
