O'Reilly Auto Parts Introduce

For residents of San Diego, California, maintaining and repairing vehicles often requires access to a comprehensive auto parts store. O'Reilly Auto Parts, located at 4435 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92105, USA, serves as a local branch of a national chain, positioning itself within the Auto Repair Stations category by providing the necessary goods for vehicle maintenance and repair. While not directly offering repair services in the traditional sense of a mechanic shop, auto parts stores like O'Reilly are integral to the automotive ecosystem, supplying both individual consumers and professional mechanics with the components needed to keep vehicles running smoothly. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of what local users might expect from this specific O'Reilly Auto Parts location, based on available information, including recent customer experiences.

The environment of a typical O'Reilly Auto Parts store is designed for retail sales of automotive parts and supplies. Customers can expect a well-organized store with aisles stocked with various products, including batteries, filters, oils, fluids, brakes, lighting, tools, and accessories. There is usually a counter area where customers can inquire about specific parts, place orders, and make purchases. Employees are typically available to assist in locating parts and providing basic information. While the provided reviews do not offer specific details about the store's layout or atmosphere, the first review mentions a counter with at least two employees working, suggesting a standard retail setup where customers interact with staff at a service counter.

As an auto parts store, the primary services offered by O'Reilly Auto Parts at this location would include:

  • Retail Sale of Auto Parts: Offering a wide array of new and sometimes remanufactured auto parts for various makes and models of vehicles. This includes essential maintenance items like filters, belts, hoses, and fluids, as well as repair components such as brakes, starters, alternators, and more.
  • Battery Sales and Services: Selling new car batteries and, according to their website (as mentioned by a reviewer), typically offering free battery checks. However, one customer's experience suggests that the application of this policy at this specific location might be inconsistent or unclear.
  • Oil and Fluid Sales: Providing a variety of motor oils, transmission fluids, coolants, and other necessary automotive fluids.
  • Tool and Equipment Sales: Offering a range of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment for both DIY enthusiasts and professional mechanics.
  • Accessory Sales: Selling car accessories such as floor mats, seat covers, lighting upgrades, and performance parts.
  • Online Order Pickup: Allowing customers to order parts online and pick them up at their local store.
  • Potential for Loaner Tools: Depending on the specific store and local policies, O'Reilly Auto Parts may offer a loaner tool program for certain specialized tools.
  • Basic Advice and Part Look-up: Employees can typically assist customers in identifying the correct parts for their vehicles using catalogs and computer systems.

Based on the limited information from the provided customer reviews, the features of this specific O'Reilly Auto Parts location at 4435 University Ave present a mixed perspective:

  • Potential Policy Inconsistencies: One reviewer highlighted a discrepancy between the company's stated policy of free battery checks on their website and the service received at this location, where assistance was seemingly denied because the battery was not originally purchased from them. This suggests a potential inconsistency in policy application or a lack of clarity regarding service limitations.
  • Concerns Regarding Customer Service and Professionalism: The second review raises significant concerns about the unprofessional behavior of some employees, including the use of profanity and joking about not wanting to assist customers. This type of behavior can create an uncomfortable environment and deter customers from seeking help.
  • Limited Assistance in Certain Situations: The first review also indicates a lack of willingness to provide assistance, even a simple battery test, if the customer's current battery was not an O'Reilly product. This could be a significant drawback for customers seeking basic diagnostic services before purchasing a new battery.

No specific promotional information for this O'Reilly Auto Parts location is included in the provided text. However, O'Reilly Auto Parts as a national chain regularly offers various promotions, including discounts on specific parts, seasonal sales, and special offers through their website and flyers. Local customers are encouraged to check the official O'Reilly Auto Parts website or inquire in-store for any current promotions or discounts available at the 4435 University Ave location.

In conclusion, O'Reilly Auto Parts at 4435 University Ave in San Diego serves as a local supplier of a wide range of auto parts and accessories, fitting into the broader category of Auto Repair Stations by providing the necessary goods for vehicle maintenance and repair. However, the limited customer feedback raises concerns regarding potential inconsistencies in service policies and unprofessional behavior from some staff members. Local users considering this location should be aware of these reported experiences. To obtain accurate information about current inventory, pricing, and any ongoing promotions, and to clarify their policies on services like battery testing, it is advisable to contact the store directly at (619) 641-7754 or visit the location. Further positive or negative feedback from other customers would provide a more comprehensive understanding of the typical customer experience at this specific O'Reilly Auto Parts store.

O'Reilly Auto Parts Customer Reviews

I visited the O'Reilly at 4435 University Ave yesterday before noon because my car battery was failing, and I needed it tested or charged. The man at the counter whos name I didn’t catch, but had a healing black eye, asked the woman working next to him for guidance. She mentioned that if it was their battery, they could charge it. I wasn't sure if it was their battery, so she told him to go check. He came outside, took a look, and said, "No, it's not ours," which meant they couldn't help me at all and he went back inside not offering a test or any assistance. Feeling frustrated, I got back into my car, hoping it would start and thankfully, it did. I drove down the street to AutoZone, where they tested my battery and determined I needed a new one so I bought one. I'm confused about how you sell new batteries if your policy is to not assist customers who don't currently have one of your batteries. Your website states that you offer free battery checks— so does that policy not apply to the University location? Some clarity would be appreciated, as I left feeling defeated and worried my car might die on the road.

Super uncomfortable to go in a business and have their employees talk among themselves with bad words (cussing) and joking around about how they won’t go out and help you in a simple task . After hearing that of course I didn’t feel comfortable to even ask for help , these guys were probably in their early 20s . Not sure if maturity comes with age but sucks to get that vibe from a business that offers help in many aspects.

I went to O’ Reilly on University ave location for rear break pads for my Camry and the employee by the name of David gave me front brake pads 🤦‍♀️he asked me for my plates my car information and so many questions for him to mess up and make me drive back to return them!! This place experience wise and costumer service really sucks!!! I think Google is more reliable than these dumb guys that don’t know what they are doing. I want to add I went back and got the refund for my wrong break pads and got another set of pads that again are not the correct ones 🤦‍♀️ Oh lord!! I seriously don’t think these folks are taking their job serious. Shout out to the O’Reilly in Vista on Santa Fe the gentle man by the name Jorge was awesome he took care of the second return and explained to me the importance of having a costumer satisfaction is part of his job. He finally gave me the correct rear break pads and was very helpful. Please note before posting this review I called University O’Reilly store, and the same David guy answered with a laughing voice. stating there was no manager to speak to and that I could go and return the parts I heard no apology nor was at all taking responsibility to at least make it up for his 2nd mistake providing the wrong items. Hopefully this review helps other customers to avoid the inconvenience of returning parts and loss of time on top of having a bad experience.

Like the dysfunctional cousin of the Point Loma O'Reilly's we love so much. It was apparent that they were in too much of a siesta mode to be bothered. Not a single other customer except me.
