O'Reilly Auto Parts Introduce

O'Reilly Auto Parts, located at 6938 N Telegraph Rd, Dearborn Heights, MI 48127, USA, serves as a prominent "Auto Repair Station" in the local community. While primarily a retailer of automotive parts, O'Reilly stores, including this location, offer a range of valuable in-store services that support vehicle maintenance and minor repairs, thus fitting within the broader "Auto Repair Stations" category by providing corresponding services and goods for sale. Their extensive inventory caters to both the do-it-yourself mechanic and professional repair shops.

The environment at O'Reilly Auto Parts is typically designed to be a functional retail space where customers can easily browse and purchase auto parts. While there isn't specific information provided about this particular store's waiting area or specialized amenities, the general O'Reilly store layout emphasizes accessibility and a wide selection of products. Customer experiences, however, can be mixed, as reflected in the provided reviews. One customer had a very positive experience, praising an employee named John for being "very respectful and kind" and providing "amazing deals." This suggests that when the right staff is present, the environment can be very helpful and customer-friendly. Conversely, another customer recounted a "horrible experience" with a rude manager during a battery warranty claim, indicating that the customer service environment can vary significantly based on the individual staff encountered. This mixed feedback highlights that while the physical store environment is standard for an auto parts retailer, the human element plays a crucial role in shaping the customer's perception and overall experience.

As a leading auto parts retailer and an "Auto Repair Station" in its service offerings, O'Reilly Auto Parts provides a comprehensive array of goods and services. These include, but are not limited to, a vast selection of automotive parts for various makes and models, as well as crucial in-store services that directly assist with vehicle diagnostics and minor repairs:

  • Extensive Auto Parts Inventory: This includes batteries, brakes, alternators, starters, radiators, headlights, spark plugs, filters (oil, air, cabin), belts, hoses, and many other replacement parts for various vehicle systems.

  • Fluids and Chemicals: A wide range of motor oils, transmission fluids, coolants, power steering fluid, and other automotive chemicals are available.

  • Tools and Equipment: They offer a selection of mechanic-grade tools, diagnostic scanners, jacks, and other garage equipment for both professional and DIY use.

  • Accessories and Car Care Products: Customers can find interior and exterior accessories, car detailing kits, wiper blades, and lighting components.

  • Free Battery Testing and Charging: O'Reilly offers free battery testing for cars, trucks, SUVs, commercial vehicles, and powersport batteries, whether in or out of the vehicle. They can also charge batteries in-store if needed, and assist in finding suitable replacements if the battery is faulty, often with free installation for most batteries.

  • Free Check Engine Light Testing (O'Reilly VeriScan®): If a vehicle's check engine light is on, O'Reilly staff can scan and read the diagnostic trouble codes for free. This service provides a report of codes and potential fixes, helping customers identify issues and find necessary parts.

  • Free Wiper Blade Installation: With the purchase of wiper blades, O'Reilly professionals can install them for free on most vehicles, offering a convenient service for a common maintenance need.

  • Free Headlight and Tail Light Bulb Installation: Similar to wiper blades, they offer free installation of exterior bulbs with purchase on many vehicles, though availability may vary.

  • Loaner Tool Program: This valuable program allows customers to rent specialized tools for specific diagnostics and repairs by paying a refundable deposit, making it easier for DIYers to tackle complex jobs without buying expensive tools.

  • Used Oil and Battery Recycling: O'Reilly Auto Parts provides free recycling for used motor oil, transmission fluid, gear oil, oil filters, and dead batteries, promoting environmentally responsible disposal.

  • Brake Drum & Rotor Resurfacing: Some O'Reilly locations offer in-store resurfacing services for brake drums and rotors, provided they can be safely resurfaced, assisting with brake repairs.

The features of O'Reilly Auto Parts, particularly this Dearborn Heights location, are shaped by both its corporate offerings and individual staff performance. Key features include the breadth of its product inventory, providing a one-stop shop for most automotive parts needs. The array of free in-store services like battery testing, check engine light diagnostics, and installation of wipers and bulbs significantly adds value, distinguishing them from purely retail-focused stores. The Loaner Tool Program is a major benefit for DIY enthusiasts. However, a notable feature, as evidenced by one review, can be the variability in customer service quality. While some employees, like "John," are praised for being "respectful and kind" and offering "amazing deals," indicating excellent customer engagement and product knowledge, other experiences, such as the one with a "rude and mean" manager regarding a warranty exchange, highlight inconsistencies. This suggests that while O'Reilly aims for a high standard of "Professional Parts People®" and helpfulness, individual interactions can significantly impact a customer's perception of the store's features and overall reliability. Their commitment to offering various services, beyond just selling parts, makes them a crucial resource for everyday vehicle maintenance and repair support in the community.

O'Reilly Auto Parts Customer Reviews

I dont like writing bad reviews, but I had such a bad experience that I had to give this place a 1 star. My car wouldn't start, which was a suprise because I bought the battery 1 month ago from this location. The battery has a 3 year warranty, so I went back to trade it for a new one. When I went, I told the guy at the cash what happened, and he refused to change it because he wanted to check if there was something wrong with the battery. I told him this battery is for my work truck and I couldn't leave it because I had to work. But the guy told me in a rude tone that he's the manager and he won't give me a new one until he checks the current battery and to come back in two hours. I came back after 2 hours, and he told me the battery was broken and he already had a different battery ready for me at the counter. I looked at the battery, and it was all scratched up from the back, and the caps were missing. I told him this battery looks used, and it's my right to get a new battery. When I told him this was my right, he told me in a rude voice that I'm wasting his time. After some back and forth conversation, he ended up getting me a new one This will be the last time I ever go to this place. my previous experience with this store was very pleasant. And the man who helped me was very nice. This experience was completely different. The manager was rude and mean. And I felt like he was cheating me

I wanted to get the emergency roadside supplies for my car and trust me I did a lot of research for the good quality with good/economics deals I can get on the things I needed. O'Reilly (specifically this store, Person's name John) really hooked me up with some amazing deals. Not only that, he was very respectful and kind to me with all the dealings. He's the best at his work. I would definitely recommend it.

Good staff get you the right parts unlike AutoZone AutoZone couldn't get the parts right if they were set right in front of them. O'Reilly's has been a real good place for me to get my parts I never have to worry or second guess what they give me

I really wished that I did not have to post this review because generally when I go to auto parts stores I am satisfied. I walked into the store, the person behind the counter was cashing out a customer's windshield wipers and walking him outside to install them on the customer's vehicle. So I waited in the store because there was not anyone at the counter. I repeatedly called for someone to come from the back (they saw me but never came from the back) but the person never acknowledged me or anything. I just happened to be in the area so that is why I stopped in. The clerk returned from installing the wipers on the customers car. He asked me what did I need and I asked him can someone scan my computer because my engine light was on. This man looked me in the eyes and said, "oh no I can't do that right now, you will have to return after 1pm." It was 11 am when this happened. There was no one in the store. He had just went out and installed wipers on a customers vehicle which took way longer than it would have to scan my computer. I really hope that this was not a racial incident because the customer with the wipers was Caucasian and so was this clerk. I am African American. I left the inside of the store and waited outside to see if any other customers were going to come while I was sitting there. I waited for about 15 minutes no customers came. Then I went to Autozone about 1 mile away they came out and scanned my computer and fixed what caused my engine light to come on and I was on my way. Shout out to Autozone! I will never return to this O'Reilly. After writing my review I looked at the lowest reviews here for this location. Obviously there is nothing being done about the rude staff because I located additional reviews on this website claiming racism from the staff. Then there is the elephant in the room, why is the staff so rude? If you do not like your job leave.
