My parents have had their cars serviced and fixed at Nick's for over 30 years. Nick does excellent inspections, diagnostics, and work while also looking out for his customers' wallets - he only recommends repairs and services when necessary. He once fixed my mother's transmission on a very short notice - it turned out a single bolt was causing the problem. He also prepared my father's old car for a cross-country roadtrip a few years ago. He's also helped my parents decide when the maintenance costs of cars are likely to increase and make buying a new car more practical. I have since moved off Long Island and DIY the majority of maintenance and repairs on my car. I still go to Nick's whenever I need something above my abilities done or need a used car inspected. Needless to say, if I'm willing to travel from PA for Nick's, if you live in/near Glen Cove, he should be your local mechanic and overall car expert! One piece of advice for prospective customers is to make an appointment. Good places, like Nick's, are very often busy and don't always have time for walk-ins.

Been coming here for over 30 years. My father fixed his cars here for over 50 years back in the days of Nick, Sr. Honest, dependable and very kind. I have never encountered such a great car repair shop. They will never try to get you to replace or fix something that doesn’t need work, and they try to find the least expensive option when it comes to repairs. Bought a few cars from Nicks as well. Always very dependable!

Nicks shop was recommended to me by my landlord. Incredibly happy with the work that they did on my Jeep. She’s back up and running! Got it done within 2 days and prices are very reasonable and very honest guys. As a woman going to mechanic shop I never once felt like they overcharged me for anything or said that I needed repairs that I didn’t need. Thank you guys so much!!

Having gone through many problems with the cars I’ve owned, my friend’s dad always vouched for Nick. I was nervous after being colossally screwed over by another local mechanic, and insisted on doing my own work which has been a challenge. After finally giving this place a try, I’m very relieved to finding someone local who I can trust and feel comfortable returning to. They don’t seem to struggle when it comes to keeping customers, as the place is usually packed. Unlike many other repair centers, they also don’t feel the need to charge you for unnecessary things, and they don’t lie. No matter how busy they are, Nick still finds the time to speak one and one and carefully listen to what problems your car’s having and what you need. It’s also easy to see that they make their best effort to keep their word on how long things will take, even when things aren’t going as planned. They’re skilled, communicative, and treat their customers very well.

Nick fixed my wheel bearing and did a fantastic job. I've had other mechanics work on my car in the past; Nick showed me a new level of quality, professionalism, and value that I had never experienced. I found a mechanic, with integrity, I can trust for years to come.
