08/24/24 - I called and spoke with Sam an employee at this location to inquire about a part number for grease zerks which I read directly from the NAPA website. Not sure what exactly the problem was but Sam was not at all customer friendly and had me repeat the part number several times and then blamed it on his computer not uploading correctly. He told me that the part number did not exist and then after repeating it back a fourth time he acknowledged the part number did exist and told me that he did not have the item in stock. He only stated they were unavailable. Sam’s attitude was condescending and off putting. When a customer calls he may want to be a little kinder and decent and also write down the part number vs having a customer repeat the part number over and over. Bottom line is Sam needs to be helpful, patient, kind and NOT condescending to customers. It goes without saying customers and great customer service are what keeps a business thriving. Based on this phone call and Sam’s demeanor I felt the need to provide this feedback. I mentioned to Sam that I did not appreciate his demeanor and he offered no apology. I mentioned to Sam that I may be talking to the store manager about how I was treated. He said, he is not hear today. He answered my question. If the manager were on site its likely Sam would have had exhibited kinder customer service. ***Just another reason to consider online purchases vs brick and mortar when needing a part. My next call was to the Shelby NAPA auto store. Totally professional and the employee understood exactly what the part number was and said he would have to order the part and I could have it by the Aug 31. Was treated professionally and the employee never needed the part number repeated and he never blamed the computer. Bottom line if you call a NAPA store and need to locate a part whether in stock or needing to be ordered and desire to be treated decent by the employees. Call the Shelby, NC NAPA store. Zero issues with phone support.
