Warning! The only reason they're getting a star is so that I can post this. I had this shop rebuild my 390. I installed the engine myself and couldn't never get it to run right. I just pulled the engine and found the piston rod are not in the corresponding cylinder. It shouldn't be that difficult as these engines are all marked by number. The timing marks on the crank and cam gears were off by 2 teeth. These gears have two dots on them that you line up, very easy. They did not replace any of the bearings on the crankshaft as I can see the date on them is December of 1990. I paid for a rebuild and received a cylinder honing. I wouldn't let these guys change my oil in my lawn mower.

Drew was absolutely amazing and set my mind at ease. I had a knock in my engine and was told the engine needed to be replaced and it would cost me to start almost $13,000 dollars...wow right! I love my car and would rather repair it than buy a new one. Drew walked me through the entire process of an engine rebuild, he sent me photos during the repairs and the price was beyond fair for the work they did. I highly recommend this shop! I took my My old-school 88 Ford E150 SportsMobile conversion van that only had 50,000 miles on the 5.0 engine to MJM wanting better performqnce getting over mountain passes..big mistake- MJMs slick sales job of telling me they would rebuild my good running engine block and put better cam in it to help with acceleration over mountain road instead they replaced my engine me with an older cheap rebuilt 5.0 engine block and even older heads and an illegal cam that had less power was missing and 5 MPG!!! The whole engine switching scam was identified by the California bureau of auto repair. I ended up spending over $10k to replace their engine and other damaged trans and engine parts with another rebuilt engine.. I lost the ability actually have my own old engine that was was a slug over hills but ran beautifully- the BAR guy said tgey should have honestly advised me to just upgrade the gears in the rear end to accomplish what I was looking for but MGM of course screwed me. I took them to court and the best I could do is get back to $4000. I paid them. Good luck dealing with these crooks!!

Drew and his team are amazing! We bought our son an older Ford Ranger. We knew the truck would need some work but were not expecting to need a whole engine rebuild. We had taken the truck to a place closer to home that told us the heads were blown and we needed a new engine. That place told us it would be $8,000. I felt this was over priced and a bit shady. We had that shop stop the work immediately and had the truck towed home. My father in law found MJM online. I was still very reluctant to send the truck all the way to Escondido to people we had never met. I called Drew explained all of this. He was kind, answered all of my questions and was so patient with me. He never acted like I was a burden. We had the truck towed up to MJM with the engine in pieces. Drew knew I was panicking, called to let me know the truck had arrived and that he would call me after his assessment. Drew held true to each time he said he would call. He gave me all of my options, price breakdown.. etc. we had the engine rebuilt at a fraction of the cost that the shady shop had quoted us and the truck is running amazing! I never felt pressured or that I was being sold anything “extra”. In general I do not trust mechanics. After working with Drew, that has changed! I seriously don’t want to ever take one of our vehicles anywhere else! If you want amazing customer service with knowledgeable mechanics you should definitely call Drew and the MJM team!

If you need a rebuild, do not go ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE. I've had a couple engines done here from performance builds to OEM and they're the best in all of California, Drew was super cool and breaks the whole process down in detail of what needs to be done and really walks you through the whole process and ensures that it'll be done right. They offer nothing but quality work with amazing warranties to back their word. I ONLY recommend these guys to anyone who needs work done.

These guys are very good and nice..They worked with me on my repair,not meny shops will work with you.Just a few minor problems,but they took care of it with no problem.I won't take my car to any other shop.These guys are very good.
