Just needed estimate. Without discussing any fees, once it was up on the lift Charles who operates by word of mouth, said there was an inspection fee which was not discussed. Charles demanded money for his flashlight time looking approximately 5 minutes under the car but there was no discussion about this process, and no paperwork. I thought I was getting a free estimate, but I guess these guys wait until they have your car up on a lift to divulge this information. Just be upfront with your customers. Please use paperwork where you explain your process, and figure out how to be honest from the start of the interaction. Hopefully, you can figure your intake process a little better for future interactions, because many shops offer quotes if it takes 5 minutes to do a so called "inspection".
