Lou's Machine Shop Customer Reviews

I had a broken exhaust stud in my head of my air cooled VW motor. These things are ancient and no one around here will touch them. Calling a few places around town they all told me the same thing -- go to Lou's M&B Machine Shop. Lou took care of the problem for a very reasonable price and did not try to upsell me into any unnecessary services. He removed the broken stud and chased out the threads on both heads. For good service, call Lou! And don't pay attention to the old review about the blown out motor. That was the previous owner.

Don't ever let them rebuild your engine. Had mine done through them Soon as i had the engine installed it burned through 3 quarts of oil in 25 miles and turned the fresh oil pitch black.. It was nothing more than an expensive smoke screen. They refused warranty it or even look at it. Trying to tell me that i didn't seat the rings and break it in properly. Had someone else look at it who said they over bored the piston walls and destroyed what was a perfectly running motor prior to that. Thought instead of installing a used engine in my car I'd have it rebuilt to last before i put it in... boy was i wrong.

Lou recently resurfaced cylinder heads for me. Everything was done within a timely manner and the heads were perfect. I will definitely be using Lou for all my future needs.
