Leonard's Auto Service Introduce
Leonard's Auto Service, located at 24340 US-322, Cochranton, PA 16314, USA, operates as an Auto Repair Station that also provides towing services. They can be contacted by phone at (814) 425-3887 or via mobile at +1 814-425-3887. As an Auto Repair Station, Leonard's Auto Service is positioned to address various automotive needs for the community in Cochranton and the surrounding areas, ranging from roadside assistance to in-shop vehicle repairs.
The environment of Leonard's Auto Service, based on the nature of their operations as an Auto Repair Station and towing provider, would typically include a garage space for vehicle repairs and a dispatch area for towing operations. For a repair facility, this implies multiple service bays, diagnostic equipment, and tools necessary for mechanical work. A customer waiting area and a reception desk for processing service requests and payments would also be standard. The towing aspect suggests an outdoor lot for impounded or recovered vehicles. While detailed descriptions of the physical environment, such as the cleanliness of the waiting room or the organization of the garage, are not explicitly provided in the reviews, the contrasting customer experiences imply that the operational environment might be perceived differently depending on the interaction. One review details an emergency towing situation during severe weather, suggesting an environment equipped to handle challenging recovery scenarios, albeit with reported difficulties. Another review highlights efficient service within the shop, indicating a functional and potentially well-organized repair facility. The operational hours, as highlighted by one review, indicate that while they may handle emergency calls outside of regular business hours (e.g., being woken up for a tow), typical customer service interactions might be limited to standard weekday hours.
Leonard's Auto Service offers a combination of towing and auto repair services. Their towing service is evidently available for emergency roadside assistance, as indicated by the incident involving a disabled vehicle picked up by AAA. This service involves vehicle recovery and transport to their facility. The review detailing the flatbed getting "suck" during a recovery operation suggests that they tackle challenging towing situations, although with reported difficulties.
Beyond towing, their classification as an Auto Repair Station implies a range of in-shop repair capabilities. While the specific types of auto repairs are not extensively detailed in the provided reviews, one positive review mentions that "the parts were there as promised" and the "van went directly into the garage on our arrival," which suggests they perform repairs that require parts procurement and efficient mechanical work. This could encompass various services like brake repair, engine diagnostics, fluid changes, suspension work, or other general vehicle maintenance and repair tasks that a full-service auto shop would provide. The positive review highlights their efficiency in handling a time-sensitive repair, indicating a capacity for prompt service when needed, especially for customers traveling or facing urgent breakdowns. Conversely, the extensive negative review, while focused on the towing incident and billing, also mentions vehicle damage upon return, implying an interaction with the physical vehicle at their facility after towing, which falls under the broader scope of an auto service operation.
The features of Leonard's Auto Service, as illuminated by the provided customer reviews, present a stark contrast, highlighting both areas of strength and significant weaknesses. A key positive feature, as described in one review, is the professionalism and efficiency of their towing staff and their in-shop service. The driver was praised as "very courteous, polite, conscientious, professional," and the overall team was described as "superb," with "Great customer service." This suggests that when things go smoothly, customers can expect high levels of care, promptness (e.g., "no waiting," "van went directly into the garage"), and effective communication (e.g., "called the office on the way and the parts were there as promised," "called us the next day to follow up"). Their ability to "save the day" for a family on their way to a wedding underscores a feature of reliable and timely problem-solving in urgent situations.
However, the other review paints a very different picture, highlighting critical negative features. These include severe issues with communication ("refuse to answer the phone"), perceived dishonesty ("very dishonest, disrespectful, reckless, and uneducated"), and a lack of accountability ("refused to admit to fault"). Billing transparency and fairness are also major concerns, with claims of being "charged for their own mishaps" and refusal to directly bill AAA. Furthermore, significant concerns about the handling of personal belongings and vehicle security are raised, with the customer being denied access to their purse and key, and then finding "2,400 worth of damage" upon vehicle return. This suggests features such as poor communication, a lack of customer-centric policies, and potentially issues with the care taken during vehicle handling or recovery, leading to significant customer dissatisfaction and alleged damage. The direct refusal to provide a written bill without explicit owner permission further points to a feature of bureaucratic or non-transparent practices. Therefore, the features are highly polarized, ranging from exceptional professionalism and efficiency to severe breakdowns in communication, trust, and service quality.
Regarding promotional information, no explicit marketing messages, discounts, or special offers are provided in the given data for Leonard's Auto Service. However, the customer reviews themselves serve as the primary source of public information, which can either promote or deter potential customers. The highly positive review functions as strong organic promotion, emphasizing "Great customer service," "Highly recommend this company," and a "HUGE THANK YOU." This type of testimonial, highlighting how the company "saved the day" during a critical breakdown, is invaluable for attracting new business, especially for towing and emergency repairs, where reliability and responsiveness are paramount. It implicitly promotes their ability to deliver under pressure and their commitment to customer satisfaction.
Conversely, the extensive negative review acts as a severe counter-promotion. Phrases like "I would NOT recommend this company to anyone!" and "I feel this company is very dishonest, disrespectful, reckless, and uneducated!" are direct warnings that would deter potential customers. The detailed account of alleged misconduct, billing issues, and vehicle damage creates a highly unfavorable impression. For local users seeking an Auto Repair Station or towing service, these conflicting accounts mean that any promotional message is heavily influenced by the specific experience of the reviewer. Therefore, while one review strongly promotes their service quality and customer care, the other severely undermines it. Without additional information from the business itself, such as official statements or a more balanced range of reviews, it is difficult to extract a consistent promotional strategy beyond the impact of these very different customer experiences. Potential customers would need to weigh these disparate accounts when deciding whether to utilize Leonard's Auto Service.

This incident happened on February 9 2025. I have given Megan Hays (Owner) serval chances to admit to fault like a responsible human being through my insurance company, her insurance company, and the Pennsylvania State Police and she has refused to do so, I'm going to let the truth be known. I feel this company is very dishonest, disrespectful, reckless, and uneducated! So my husband and I decided to go to dinner at the Creekside Bar & Grill Inn, and as always, we check on camp for falling trees. So, on the way, we also check on a Blue Herron that hangs out in the creek at the bottom of Creek Rd. All went well until we tried to leave. Going up the small hill was not an option after serval attempts it was a sheet of ice. We had been thier 3 hours with very little cell phone signal. I attempted Tripple A serval times with no success. My husband decided to walk on West Creek rd a truck drove by and offered to help for a signal. My husband called my brother in law to come get us it was getting dark, and the road was dangerous. I had gotten up the hill as far as I could go and had pulled over as far to the right as possible. We made the unconscious decision to lock and leave it until daylight because of severe conditions of the road! So from 8:30 pm till 1:00 am ish. The state police received a call from a passer-by, and the officer checked on my Dodge Nitro and confirmed that my vehicle was the only vehicle down the hill. The officer calls Leonard's Auto Service & Towing, which is closed and wakes up Megan and her crew of incapable tow drivers. Which I was not unaware of ! So, first thing Sunday morning, I put the ticket in to Tripple A on the app I get a text message stating my vehicle will be arriving at Leonard's Towing by 10:55 am My first thought was I hope no one was hurt and all went well. Then I received a phone call from Megan stating this is Leonard's Towing, and they have my vehicle and was irate because she was woken up and was made to recover my vehicle, I apologized and hoped no one was hurt, as the rant continued she proceeded to tell me that they had gotten the flat bed suck, and had a difficulty with the entire ordeal, relieved no one was hurt & it was no longer down the hill. I was told they're closed Sunday to call back Monday morning, now thinking I was getting my Nitro Sunday morning meeting Tripple A at the site, because I just needed towed up the little hill and going about my day but no! Now my purse is in the nitro, which has my work keys, so I had my husband called Megan back and asked her if I could come and get my keys I clean the banks here in town, she said no! Okay, no work Monday. Now It's Monday morning. I didn't call and went there with my sister and was rudely given a verbal estimate bill of 1,040 for a tow I actually had nothing to do with and was charged for their own mishaps at the site. She refused to bill Tripple A, and I was told they would need to reimburse me. So, at this point, Megan leaves for an appointment? Okay. So I went out to my sisters car to discuss the situation and called PSP about this towing incident I decided to pay cash went back in, to get specifics on the total in writing, and the coworker had to place a call to Megan for permission to give me a paper bill. So now the coworker wants my I.D. because and states that they don't know who owns the vehicle and I could be anybody(what)? So now I need my purse out of the Nitro, and she placed another phone call to Megan to get permission to get my purse out of my vehicle No! I was told, and she will get my purse, a total stranger! So when I gave her my key to get my purse, which she did, she was instructed to keep my car key and not give it back. We left went and got the cash paid the bill. Megan returned. When my vehicle was brought around, it had 2,400 worth of damage. Megan stated it was like that, prove it. It was not like that! I would NOT recommend this company to anyone! I knew then why she never let me get my personal belongings! I didn't even know if I would be able to drive home! Wow!

We were on our way to Orlando for a family wedding. Our vehicle broke down on the interstate in PA. AAA sent a tow truck from Leonard's Auto Service. The driver, a very courteous, polite, conscientious, professional young man, took excellent care to get us safely to the shop. We were very tight on time. I called the office on the way and the parts were there as promised. Our van went directly into the garage on our arrival. This company saved the day. Everyone who worked there was superb. They even called us the next day to follow up and make sure we got to our event on time. Great customer service. I wish we lived closer. Highly recommend this company. HUGE "THANK YOU" to everyone at Leonard's.

I cannot recommend this company more. I called them at 8pm sobbing because my battery/alternator gave out on the highway 79. The person that answered my call was so sweet and helped me to calm down and sent a tow truck right away. The tow truck driver was also very kind and calming. They got me off the highway within the hour. I cannot thank you all enough.

They must have been busy because I had to wait over an hour for a tow. The driver was friendly and courteous. I'm glad I double checked where he was towing my car to because he had the wrong business name down. They are a bit on the expensive side but at least my car was delivered safely.

After a horrible start to a Saturday morning with my truck not starting, one phone call and Leonard’s was on their way to help! Driver Tim S. arrived promptly and was very helpful throughout the whole process. I’m very grateful for the services they provided. If I could leave a 10 star review I would! Will definitely recommend their services and use them in the future if needed!
