Comprehensive Services for Vehicle Enhancement and Protection

Legacy Coating Grand Blanc, under the broader category of "Auto Repair Stations," offers a unique blend of services and goods, distinguishing itself through its specialization in vehicle protection and customization. Their core offerings revolve around advanced coating solutions, providing significant benefits for vehicle longevity and appearance.

  • Hydrophobic Vehicle Ceramic Coatings: This is a cornerstone of their service. Legacy Coating Grand Blanc provides cutting-edge, nanotechnology-infused ceramic coating packages designed to revive shine, preserve paintwork, and prevent contamination from Michigan's varied weather conditions. These coatings create an extraordinary bond with a vehicle's paint, leading to outstanding durability, resilience, and a profound gloss. They are particularly effective against challenges like road salt in winter and dust and dirt in summer.
  • Paint Protection Film (PPF) Installation: For those seeking robust physical protection, Legacy Coating Grand Blanc offers revolutionary paint protection film solutions. These films act as an inseparable, dynamic cover for paintwork, guarding against unpredictable road challenges, including scratches, chips, and corrosive road salt. PPF plays a crucial role in preserving a vehicle's long-term value and acts as an impervious barrier against Michigan's ever-shifting weather patterns, preventing agonizing paint deterioration.
  • Spray-On Truck Bed Liners: Beyond paint protection, Legacy Coating Grand Blanc is known for offering protective, spray-on coatings for truck bed liners. These custom-colored applications provide a durable barrier against wear and tear, safeguarding truck beds from damage often incurred during hauling and daily use. This service is a key component for truck owners looking to protect their investment.
  • Truck Accessories: Legacy Coating Grand Blanc also serves as an authorized dealer and installer for various truck accessories, notably BackRack products. This includes original racks, open racks, and other pickup truck accessories. Their expertise in installation ensures that these products are fitted professionally and properly, providing both functionality and enhanced aesthetics for trucks.
  • Ceramic Coatings for Farm Equipment: Recognizing the importance of agriculture in Michigan, Legacy Coating Grand Blanc extends its advanced ceramic coating services to farm equipment. These hydrophobic coatings are tailored to tackle rugged conditions, repelling moisture, UV rays, rust, and corrosion. This specialized service aims to simplify maintenance, enhance efficiency, and minimize extensive cleaning for farmers, thereby boosting overall productivity.

Legacy Coating Grand Blanc Customer Reviews

Years ago back when they were called Line-X, I brought a car here for undercoating and was thoroughly impressed. This time is a different story.. I paid extra to have them remove all of the wheel well covers and paint beneath them. Instead, they decided to paint my wheel well covers and leave behind them unpainted. You'll notice in the pictures that there is overspray on my brand new drive shaft, the transfer case, transmission, exhaust pipe/heat shield, exhaust manifold covers, and even the dipstick. Wow. I wouldn't be complaining about the over spray, but look what they did to my wheel well covers!! I picked the truck up late 10/11/24 after they had closed. I plan on calling 10/14/24 as soon as they open. I will modify my review if they make this right, but right now I'm PISSED. Edit: When I had dropped off the truck I had requested that the wheel well covers be removed/replaced along with undercoating. I don't have my receipt on hand and am unsure if they had charged me for that. However, I did not request that they paint them in any way. They are a fabric type material, so now there is no way of removing the paint that they poorly applied to them. Edit 10/14/24: I had a short conversation with the owner where he had a few contradictory statements. When I had mentioned the overspray, he said that it takes a lot of time to tape everything off, and tape doesn't stick to the wheel well covers.. Ok. When I had said they should have just painted all of what they oversprayed, he mentioned that they shouldn't be painted... Hmm, ok. I brought up the wheel well covers and how upset I was about them. He said that they can be cleaned up with some mineral spirits. Sweet! So I brought the truck up there and he immediately got to work cleaning it up (They also cleaned up some of the overspray on the underside/under the hood) I wasn't very satisfied at first because there was still paint visible, and I could still feel it. He again cleaned it up. He told me that I should wait about a week for it to fully cure before I get my power washer out and go to town on it. I plan on waiting a week and giving it a thorough inspection, along with updated pictures after I get it nice and clean. My current review sits at 2 stars because of how unprofessional this experience has been. I really didn't appreciate how he tried to downplay the terrible job they did because for over $1k, it should be immaculate.

"I recently took my truck to Legacy Coating in Grand Blanc to get my back fender wheels coated, and they did an outstanding job! The attention to detail was impressive, and the results exceeded my expectations. The team was professional, worked quickly, and made sure everything looked perfect before I left. I couldn’t be happier with how the coating turned out—it really adds a sleek, durable finish to my truck. If you're looking for high-quality work and excellent customer service, I highly recommend Legacy Coating!"

When I dropped the truck off I specifically said I don’t want the goop… when I picked the truck up what did I get goop! Went to power wash and clean truck the next day found mud one inch think with 1/4 inch thick goop on both sides of the bumper. We talked price and was still charged a couple hundred more. Live and learn and my mbrp exhaust covered in undercoat. Ruined my truck. Won’t be coming back sir.

Update in response to the owner: First off, might want to get your facts straight. Different customer that you must have done a poor job for also. There was overspray all over my truck. Definitely not bird poop as water and soap nor mineral spirits would remove it. My detailer had to use a certain cleaner to get it off of my paint. Wasn't interested in coming back due to the terrible customer service and dismissive response I received, as you've again put on full display. For prospective customers, go to the Krown Rust Control off of Hill Rd. Better product and customer service. Not as much upfront cost as well. Original Review: I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I'm not sure what the 4 star+ reviewers' experience was, but mine was pretty awful. I brought my nearly brand-new truck (less than 4K miles) in for a quote on bed lining, rust-proofing, and undercoating. The person I spoke with, who apparently wasn't the regular manager, was a little dismissive towards me but did answer the questions I asked. Not a big deal; I can deal with that. Scheduled the service, and they had it ready in the time they said they would. I went to pick my truck up, and unfortunately, I didn't have the time to really inspect it because I had my wife and daughter with me, and we were in a hurry. I leave Line X, and as I'm driving I see black spots on my hood. Thought it was bird droppings; it wasn't. Got to my next stop and there were four clear drops of material that had to have come from their shop on my hood and fender. I washed my vehicle the day before I dropped it off and took pictures, so I knew it wasn't anything I had driven through. They were pretty obvious spots on a red truck, so I would have noticed them ahead of time getting in to drive. Contacted the store. The person said to use mineral spirits to get it off. Tried it, and it didn't work. I decided to drive back up to the store to get it taken care of, only to find they had closed early for the holiday with no notice displayed. I called the office, and the manager picked up. I explained the situation, and the first response from him was complete denial. I explained I had pictures, in which he requested I send them to him, which I did. His response was still denial but to bring my truck in after a long weekend and they would look at it. Not being thrilled about the thought of my paint having defects on it for 3+ days, I contacted my detailer. I sent him the pics and he told me to come in the next day to look at it. Mind you, it was a holiday weekend and he was giving up his time to have me come in. I brought the truck to him and he was able to get the spots up fairly easily with something other than mineral spirits. Upon his further inspection, there was over-spray ALL OVER my truck. It was on all four doors, on the fenders, on the tailgate, on the body where the box meets the cab, on the roof, and I'm sure more. My detailer and I spent nearly an hour cleaning up the truck as best we could and were able to get most of the over-spray taken care of. The shop clearly did not take the proper steps to tape off and prep my truck. They even missed probably a 2-3 inch section of undercoating in one of my wheel-wells (pictured). To this day, I haven't received any follow-up from the shop regarding my truck. This was really unfortunate because this place had pretty great reviews, but I spent a lot of money there, and although I got mostly what I asked for, I also got a lot I didn't ask for. I don't expect perfection, but this was far from reasonable, in my opinion. If you plan to go there, I would say to thoroughly inspect your vehicle before you leave or have an excellent detailer. This place, nor their other 3 locations, (Bay City, West Branch, and Sterling Heights) will never touch any of my vehicles or get a single penny from me again.

Update to owner’s response Went to get a spray in bed liner quote, while getting the quote the owner mentioned they had a tonneau cover that fit my new F-150 it come back on a warranty and would sell it to me for a couple hundred dollars($200) if he could fix it, I said great and come back the next day(picked the new truck up that night) to get on his schedule for the liner and tonneau cover, he now stated the cover was just a bolt in wrong and were selling it on facebook marketplace for $700 asked him about his word to me and he said he would not honor the price even though it was replaced under warranty at no charge to him?? So I canceled the appointment for the spray in liner, lost a repeat customer over a couple hundred bucks?? Worse yet can’t trust someone if they don’t honor their word! Let’s get the facts straight on his reply, Hate it when the nefarious person calls the customer a scammer, attached is the FB market place add, free unit to them is listed for $800, it’s a shame he stoops to this level of calling me the scammer? I had nothing to gain but a good deal that was offered to me and accepted? When he retracted the offer I voiced my disappointment while he was saying”you have to come up a little” then I left. I went to MJR and had my truck liner done there, they did a great job!
