Lee's Sheep Skin Introduce
Located at 1400 W Slauson Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90047, USA, Lee's Sheep Skin operates within the broad "Auto Repair Stations" platform category, though its specialization clearly lies in automotive interior customization, upholstery, and repair, rather than traditional mechanical fixes. While the name "Sheep Skin" might suggest a niche in sheepskin products, customer reviews indicate a broader focus on various automotive interior materials, including leatherette, for seat covers and door panels. This establishment caters to vehicle owners looking to restore, upgrade, or personalize their car's interior.
The environment at Lee's Sheep Skin would typically be a workshop setting focused on detailed interior work. Expect to see materials like fabrics, leather, and foam, along with specialized tools for cutting, sewing, and fitting upholstery. The working area for technicians would be organized to facilitate precision craftsmanship, as custom interior work demands meticulous attention to detail. While there may be a small waiting area for customers to consult on their projects, the primary focus is on the bespoke nature of the services. Given the mixed reviews regarding quality and timeliness, the environment's efficiency and organization would directly impact the customer's perception of the shop's professionalism. A well-maintained and tidy workspace often correlates with the quality of the finished product in such specialized fields.
Lee's Sheep Skin specializes in services related to automotive interiors. Based on the customer reviews, their core offerings include:
- Custom Seat Covers: A significant service, as one customer praised how their "seat covers weren't available 4 my back seat made them there on the spot! looks like they're a part of my car!" This highlights their capability to custom-fabricate seat covers to perfectly fit a vehicle's specific dimensions and aesthetic, often using materials like sheepskin or leatherette.
- Automotive Upholstery Repair and Replacement: This would involve repairing or replacing damaged sections of car seats, headliners, dashboards, and other interior components.
- Door Panel Customization and Repair: As one customer mentioned bringing "door panels and the material to re do them," it indicates they offer services for revamping or repairing interior door panels. This can include re-wrapping with new material, fixing broken elements, or customizing the look.
- Material Sales (Potentially): While customers might supply their own material, the shop may also sell a range of upholstery fabrics, leatherette, and other automotive interior materials.
- Interior Restoration: For older or classic vehicles, they may provide services to restore the interior to its original condition or to a desired custom look.
Their services cater specifically to the aesthetic and comfort aspects of a vehicle's interior, distinguishing them from general mechanical repair shops.
The features of Lee's Sheep Skin, as indicated by the available customer feedback, present a mixed picture. On the positive side, a key feature is their ability to perform on-the-spot custom fabrication for items like seat covers, ensuring a perfect fit and integrated look, as described by a satisfied customer ("looks like they're a part of my car!"). This suggests a high level of skill in tailoring and upholstery work. When the job is done well, the craftsmanship can significantly enhance a vehicle's interior. Another positive aspect mentioned is "Good Customer service" in the successful instance, implying a friendly and helpful approach when things go smoothly. However, the negative review highlights potential issues with timeliness and handling of parts. The experience of multiple delays, repeated trips, and ultimately receiving "completely broken and ripped" door panels suggests a lack of attention to detail and care for customer-supplied components. This indicates that while their capabilities in custom work exist, consistency in execution and handling of parts might be areas for improvement. For customers, the ability to create custom solutions is a feature, but the potential for delays and damage to delicate parts is a significant concern that would influence their decision.
Regarding promotional information, specific details about current promotional offers for Lee's Sheep Skin are not available in the provided data. However, businesses specializing in automotive upholstery and customization often employ various strategies to attract clients. These might include:
- Portfolio Showcasing: Displaying before-and-after photos of their work on their website or in the shop to demonstrate their craftsmanship.
- Seasonal Discounts: Offering promotions on specific services, such as a discount on custom seat covers during certain times of the year.
- Material Specials: Promoting special pricing on particular types of upholstery materials like sheepskin, leatherette, or fabric.
- Package Deals: Bundling services, for example, a discount on door panel work when combined with seat upholstery.
- Referral Incentives: Encouraging satisfied customers to refer new business.
- Online Presence: Utilizing platforms like Instagram or Facebook to showcase custom projects and engage with potential clients.
Due to the mixed nature of the reviews, it would be prudent for potential customers to contact Lee's Sheep Skin directly at (323) 751-9077 or +1 323-751-9077 to discuss their specific needs, inquire about pricing, and perhaps even visit the shop to assess the environment and current work quality before committing to a project. A direct conversation can help clarify expectations regarding timelines and handling of parts.
In conclusion, Lee's Sheep Skin at 1400 W Slauson Ave, Los Angeles, CA, operates as an "Auto Repair Station" with a specialized focus on automotive interior upholstery and customization. Its services primarily include custom seat covers and door panel work, catering to those seeking aesthetic enhancements or repairs to their vehicle's interior. While the business demonstrates the capability for high-quality custom fabrication, particularly in seat covers, customer experiences highlight potential inconsistencies in service delivery, specifically regarding timeliness and careful handling of parts. For local users in Los Angeles looking for unique interior solutions, it is advisable to engage in thorough communication and set clear expectations regarding the project scope and timeline before proceeding with services at Lee's Sheep Skin.

Lee's Sheep Skin Customer Reviews
I brought door panels and the material to re do them. It was supposed to be ready same day but instead it took a week and in that week they brought me there 5 times claiming it is ready to go. When I finally got it the 6th time I came a week later, the 2 door panels were completely broken and ripped. They are not professionals and they don't have what it takes to do a good job with consideration to being gentle with your parts. I will attach pictures of the damaged they made. Go elsewhere with your money, a place like this should never have business.
