Larry's Custom Cycle Introduce
While the broader platform category is "Auto Repair Stations," Larry's Custom Cycle operates as a highly specialized entity within this sphere, focusing exclusively on two-wheeled vehicles – motorcycles. This distinction is crucial, as their environment, services, and expertise are tailored to the unique demands of motorcycles, ranging from routine maintenance to intricate custom builds. They serve as a dedicated hub for motorcycle enthusiasts, offering both the necessary repair and maintenance services, as well as the creative and technical expertise for customization.
The environment at Larry's Custom Cycle typically reflects its specialization in motorcycles. You can expect a workshop that is geared towards handling bikes, featuring appropriate lifts, specialized tools for motorcycle engines, chassis, and electrical systems, and a clean, organized space. Unlike a general auto repair shop, the ambiance might have a more enthusiast-driven feel, with motorcycle memorabilia, custom bikes on display, or a focus on specific brands like Harley-Davidson. It’s a place where motorcycle riders feel understood and their passion is shared.
The customer experience at Larry's Custom Cycle is often characterized by a personal touch and deep knowledge of motorcycles. Staff members, including Larry himself (if he's directly involved, or the mechanics bearing his name), are typically experienced riders and mechanics who understand the nuances of various bike models. Customers can expect clear, direct communication about their motorcycle's needs, whether it's a routine oil change or a complex custom modification. The emphasis is on building rapport and trust, ensuring that riders feel confident that their prized possession is in capable hands. Online information suggests a commitment to quality workmanship and fair pricing, aiming to keep riders on the road safely and stylishly.
Larry's Custom Cycle provides a comprehensive range of services specifically designed for motorcycles, particularly Harley-Davidson models, alongside offerings for other types of bikes. Their services extend from essential maintenance to specialized custom work:
-
Motorcycle Maintenance & Repair: This is a core offering, covering the essential needs of motorcycle owners.
- Oil Changes: Routine oil, primary, and transmission fluid changes, often with options for regular or synthetic oils and specific filter types (e.g., chrome filters). Pricing for these services can vary based on the specific model (e.g., Baggers, Softails, Sportsters, FXR, FXD).
- Tune-Ups: Comprehensive engine tune-ups to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Brake Services: Inspection, repair, and replacement of brake components for safe stopping.
- Tire Sales and Installation: Offering a selection of motorcycle tires (e.g., Dunlop) and professional installation, mounting, and balancing services for both on-bike (front and rear) and off-bike (spokes, mags) tires. There are often specific labor costs if tires are purchased elsewhere versus in-store.
- General Mechanical Repairs: Addressing a wide range of mechanical issues affecting engine, transmission, clutch, and other vital motorcycle systems.
- Electrical Diagnostics and Repair: Troubleshooting and fixing electrical problems, including battery issues.
- Suspension Services: Maintenance and repair of front forks and rear shocks for optimal ride comfort and handling.
- Cooling System Service: Maintenance and repair of cooling systems (where applicable).
-
Motorcycle Inspections: Performing necessary state or regulatory inspections (e.g., motorcycle inspections for registration) to ensure bikes meet safety and emissions standards.
-
Custom Builds and Modifications: This is where "Custom Cycle" truly shines, offering specialized services for riders who want to personalize their bikes.
- Custom Bike Fabrication: Building unique motorcycles from the ground up, often with custom frames (e.g., hardtail wishbone frames), bespoke bodywork (e.g., dished Mustang tanks, custom fenders), and tailored ergonomics.
- Engine Upgrades and Swaps: Installing performance engines (e.g., S&S Cycle engines), enhancing power output with various components, and tuning for optimal performance. This can include incorporating different cylinder heads (e.g., Panhead and Shovelhead combination on an S&S engine).
- Custom Exhaust Systems: Designing and installing unique exhaust setups for both aesthetics and performance.
- Custom Wheel Building: Crafting custom wheels for motorcycles, a service that requires specialized skill and equipment.
- Custom Painting and Graphics: Collaborating with painters to achieve unique finishes, including hand-painted graphics, pinstriping, and specialized color schemes (e.g., pearl white that changes color).
- Accessory Installation: Installing a wide range of aftermarket accessories, including handlebars, risers, lighting, controls, and seating.
- Chassis and Suspension Customization: Modifying forks (e.g., custom Springer forks, narrow triple trees) and other chassis components to achieve a desired stance or handling characteristic.
Larry's Custom Cycle distinguishes itself through several key features that cater specifically to motorcycle owners and enthusiasts:
- Motorcycle Specialization: Unlike general "Auto Repair Stations," their exclusive focus on motorcycles means they possess deep, specialized knowledge, tools, and experience tailored to two-wheeled vehicles. This is crucial for proper diagnosis, repair, and modification of bikes.
- Customization Expertise: A significant differentiator is their capability in custom bike builds and modifications. This includes fabricating unique components, integrating performance parts, and creating personalized aesthetics, appealing to riders who want a one-of-a-kind machine.
- Experienced and Passionate Technicians: The team likely consists of experienced mechanics and fabricators who are not just skilled but also passionate about motorcycles, understanding the nuances and desires of fellow riders. This often translates into meticulous workmanship and attention to detail, particularly for custom projects.
- Comprehensive Service for Specific Brands: While they might service various motorcycles, their apparent expertise with Harley-Davidson models (as indicated by pricing for Baggers, Softails, Sportsters, FXR, FXD, and mentions of specific Harley components) positions them as a go-to for owners of these popular bikes.
- Quality Parts and Materials: For both repairs and custom builds, they are likely to use high-quality, often performance-oriented parts (e.g., S&S Cycle engines, specific tire brands like Dunlop) to ensure reliability and enhance performance.
- Transparent Pricing: The clear listing of labor costs for various services (e.g., tire labor, oil changes) indicates a commitment to transparency in their pricing structure.
- "No Ordinary Bike Shop" Vibe: As suggested by some online mentions (e.g., "we are not your usual bike shop"), they aim to offer a distinct experience, perhaps with a focus on bespoke work, a welcoming atmosphere, or a specific subculture within motorcycling.
Promotional activities for Larry's Custom Cycle would likely target motorcycle enthusiasts directly, often through channels relevant to the riding community. While specific, active promotions are not widely publicized, common strategies for a business of this type include:
- Service Price Transparency: Directly listing labor costs for common services (e.g., oil changes, tire installation) on their website or in-store, which acts as a promotional tool by showing upfront pricing.
- Showcasing Custom Builds: Featuring galleries of their custom motorcycle projects on their website and social media. This visual display of their craftsmanship is a powerful form of advertising, attracting potential clients for bespoke work.
- Partnerships with Parts Suppliers: Highlighting their status as an authorized dealer for specific performance parts (e.g., Dunlop Motorcycle Tires) can attract customers looking for those brands.
- Participation in Motorcycle Events: Sponsoring or attending local bike rallies, shows, and swap meets to connect with the riding community and display their work.
- Word-of-Mouth Referrals: For specialized shops, positive experiences and referrals from satisfied customers are incredibly valuable.
- Online Presence and Social Media: Maintaining a website with service details, contact information, and potentially an active social media presence where they share updates, project photos, and interact with riders.
- Seasonal Maintenance Specials: Offering discounts on pre-season tune-ups, winter storage prep, or specific repair packages.
- Bundle Deals: Potentially offering reduced prices on bundled services, such as an oil change combined with a tire rotation if applicable, or discounts on parts when purchased with installation.
For the most current information regarding specific services, pricing, or any ongoing promotions, interested individuals are encouraged to contact Larry's Custom Cycle directly or visit their official website if available.

If you need anything for your sled, go see the folks at Larry's. Had a stator problem, bought the parts online, needless to say then found out I needed a rotor for said stator. Looked on line couldn't find anything that was like what I pulled out. Took it to Larry's and he said " that's from a '14 to '16, it shouldn't be on your bike" and they found and had everything I needed to get my sled rolling again. Giant thanks to everyone at Larry's. Go see them they are great folks and very very knowledgeable and helpful.

Old skool! Decent sized chopper/cruiser place. Good selection of used bikes. Knowledgeable staff. Used parts too! Bins of chopper parts for cheap. Good stock of new parts as well. Definitely going back as my new (to me) chopper is gonna need some love and customization. I didn't realize it until after I got my bike running but the keychain was from here so I'm assuming they serviced it. Non running issue was due to dead battery, binding throttle cables and disassembled brakes. Larry's helped me with 2 out of three of those issues. Amazon's bike battery's are always cheaper.

I took my bike to Larry's to repair my charging system. He proceeded to rebuild the gennorator on my 83 sportster. I picked up my bike. It started like normal. Before hitting tramway it suddenly stopped with a loud pop. I immediately took it back the next morning and he refused to fix my bike. Then he gathered up his employees to assure that I left the property. His gennorator job had shorted out all sorts of my electral. More then $2,000 later and still not running and needs more work. With many hours of study, and trying to replace the electric ignition module multiple times. I finally tracked what happened. One of The male prongs in the generator wiring harness was bent over, touching the other male prong. After I discovered this. It was far too late. That was my first bike. Took it to the pros because I didn't know. Unfortunately it was my first learning experience too. Oh and come to find out. Originally, there was nothing wrong with my charging system or my generator. I just needed my generator polarized. Sucks that I will never have Black Beauty the same again. Update October,2 2023 You know if Larry would make some sort of effort to make up for the loss of my bike. No matter how big or small just the acknowledgment alone would make me feel better. And I would take this post down!
