Lackey's Repair Shop Customer Reviews

Not worth taking your vehicle here. ESPECIALLY if it's an import. Pay the extra money and have it towed to a shop that specializes in imports. Not only did he NOT fix my car after paying $2600 to fix it, but it took him three months to NOT fix it. The first time, he got it running but it was still misfiring and had no power. I took it back to him and told him exactly what I thought the problem was. I called him two weeks later (because he won't ever call you) and he told me I had to have another valve replaced and it would be another $180. Whatever, I paid him, got the car back and it was still doing the exact same thing. Obviously I wasn't going to give him another chance. Now, I'm not a mechanic but I popped the hood and had it fixed by myself in twenty minutes. AND IT WAS EXACTLY WHAT I TOLD HIM IT WAS. Literally just a loose hose that HE had failed to tighten not once, but twice. Brandon Lackey has no clue what he's doing and doesn't stand behind his work. Do yourself a favor and take your car literally anywhere else.

Definitely don't recommend! I have shown a video of my car not cranking and they said they can help with it. I had my car towed there. It took 3 days for them to check it and when they finally did they said it is the steering wheel lock and will cost total 800 without tax. 300 for part, 200 for programming and 300 for labor. I said ok and they have said they ordered the part. I have went there everyday to check the status cause no one answers the phones and everyday it was another excuse about delivery and eventually after 5 days they said the part is lost during transportation and needs to be reordered. I had to get my car towed to another service and they have diagnosed the problem as the starter and fixed it in 2 days in a less cheaper way! I had lost minimum 200 $ and 2 weeks just because of their wrong diagnose.

Their motto should be "It'll be ready next week." Because if you take you car here that is what you'll be hearing for at the very minimum 3 months and that after spending a while on their "wait list".

In February of this year we dropped off our GMC 7500 in need of an exhaust manifold to be replaced. I think it is worth it now to preface everything with the fact that before we dropped it off I essentially made it very clear that we did not want to leave the truck with him if it was going to languish and not get worked on. That we would much rather look elsewhere if he did not have enough time to get this repair done in a few weeks. He assured us that he is not, "that guy" and would have it done in a few weeks. It appears he might be, "that guy".. They had our truck for nearly 6 months. Every time we came in it was another excuse. Cant keep help. Got to take the whole week for fish fry. Personal matters. Etc. But it was always going to be fixed, "next week". We finally made the decision to pull another vehicle we had there off the lot a few months ago. Went back to get the other truck the next morning. Naturally they then found the time to rip the old exhaust off, rendering the vehicle unable to leave their lot. Timing seems convenient knowing we were removing the work. The next several months was the same run around until finally cornered. Signed a contract that they would have it moveable within 7 business days. Went yesterday to remove it and they tried to claim they had 10. Once reminded that the contract said 7 business days they finally got it back to the state it was in when we brought it In summary; truck languished for 6 months and finally got it back the way it went in. No repairs completed. We were not charged to give it back the way it came in. But we lost 6 months of time with a truck due to constant obfuscation of facts and lack of follow through. *Addendum after owner response; Gaslighting and obfuscation will only get you so far and it is unfortunate that this was our takeaway from interacting with your business. I know you know what the truth is and it is sad to see this.

Nobody answered the phones or returns calls anytime during the day. Called repeatedly daily trying to find out progress on vehicle with no idea what is going on with it. Vehicle has been in shop for over a week and still not got it back. Hope when I show up it has been repaired.
