La Promesa Tires Customer Reviews

Providing a realistic review here because I see many that are unfair. This place is what it is. You know what you're getting when you come here, it's cheap for a reason. Having said that, I've been here several times and they've always been fast, honest and economical. A tire patch will cost you $20 and you're on your way. The workers are serious and not overly friendly, but not rude. I'll continue coming here for my tire needs.

The business model at La Promesa Tires is one of "rip off as many people as you can and try not to get caught, I am a 19 year old who has never dealt with buying tires as I have only gotten my first car recently. As any teenager would I spend almost all of my money on rims and needed some tires to put on, I didn't have that much money so I scoured offerup for used tires, the only good listing I found was for a set of falken 215/35/19's sold by the shop in question. I message them and got a response briefly saying their business hours and they'll be ready for pickup when I come, at first when I showed up I was greeted kindly and shown the wheels (because I was giving them money) and because I was uneducated with what to look for I bought the tires, I did ask what the tread life was on the tires and was told a confident 70%(not even close) so I purchased the tires and was on my way. While I was getting my tires mounted at a shop closer to home I was told the tires were a little old and probably had at least 4 months left. It is not until my friend who is more experienced than me saw them just before I put the wheels on. Almost immediately he said I should NOT run these tires no matter what, what I was sold by La Promesa was a set of 8 year old tires that have 20%-30% tread left, that have had their grooves shaved in deeper to look newer and were completely painted to hide the obvious sun damage, not to mention the fire also had patches and contained a bubble in the one wheel we looked at, the tread was completely uneven and the tire felt like hard plastic from age, I could not afford to lose $160 that easy so I returned the next morning to voice my concerns about the tires and let them know I'd like something done about it even giving them another chance and just asking for a replacement, we were greeted by the same lady with a much more rude tone this time who despite selling a set of tires that should. It be legal to sell, seemed very confident in her argument that I bought used tires and they won't do anything about it despite lying to me about the entire deal. I have already placed a much larger complaint with the better business bureau so hopefully it will get worked out, however I'd say if you even have a shred of hope to buy tires from here I can recommend any other shop in California instead of here. Selling tires in such bad condition is putting huge risk for people who may not know much about tires and could result in injury, thousands of dollars in car repairs, and possibly even lives lost, I would never return here even if they were to offer me new tires for life because that would probably mean I'd be coming back every week to exchange out the worn out bald tires they are selling people. I really wish I could leave less than one star on this review because these scammers don't even deserve to stay in business.
