Kenyon Machine Customer Reviews
I love coming to Kris Auto Repair and Kenyon Machine Auto Repair Welding. Not only can you service your car, but you can get special parts made for classic cars. Today, Kris fed me his mom’s homemade Vietnamese Beef Stew! Oh my! The aroma caught my nose with all its delicious spices and flavors. Adding rosemary leaves and squeezing some lemon juice adds to the flavor too! If you need your car serviced or a special part made, Kris can do it for you!

Brought in a spindle with a broken ball joint shaft stuck inside. Robert was able to remove without damaging the tapered hole. This was a very unique situation because I stupidly cut off the top of the ball joint with a grinder and thought I was going to have to buy a new one which was a hard to find aftermarket spindle.. Robert saved us! Brody was cool too.

Great customer service, fast and very clear about the result of the diagnosis. I arrived for a diagnosis regarding the ABS system since the lights on the board suddenly turned on, my brakes were not failing but it indicated a fault in the ABS system so I decided to go to have a more accurate diagnosis made. They explained everything to me about the result and gave me the options I had without trying to take advantage at all, they even noticed that my car lacked antifreeze and they filled the little plastic tank at no extra cost, they didn't charge me for the diagnosis either since it was relatively simple and fast. I really recommend them widely and I will surely return to their workshop for any problem that my car may have in the future.

I called and asked how much a valve job would be on a 3 cylinder Geo Metro head. I was quoted a price of $100. The head I brought to Kenyon was pulled from a low mileage Geo, very clean and no sign of carbon on valves or any wear. I simply wanted to make sure the new valves I had purchased did not go to waste and were properly lapped and seated. I provided all the parts to recondition the head if necessary. Upon arrival, I was told the head looked pretty good and there would be a tear down and reassembly charge of $75 to make sure everything was in fine working order. As I was about to leave, I was told that if I wanted to ensure that the head was truly without defect that a pressure test for leakage would need to be performed at a cost of $48. I was hesitant and began to second guess myself, but agreed to have the check performed even though a visual inspection of the head and all ports indicated no cracks were present. I was told that if any additional work needed to be performed that I would be called and advised of any additional charges prior to proceeding. A week passed from one Saturday to the next and I finally went to Kenyon to check on my head. To my surprise, the head was supposedly completely in need of reconditioning and the bill came to a whopping $285 as the work had already been performed. I paid the money and took my head knowing that I had been scammed. Northwest Cylinder Heads sells completely rebuilt cylinder heads with cam on eBay for $209.00, $30 of which you get back when you send the core. Northwest Cylinder Heads was my first inclination, but I had previously heard such good things about Kenyon and wanted to keep the business local. Lesson learned. I guess they really saw me coming.

Kenyon Machine...The way it used to be! I grew up the son of a Top Fuel race/machine shop owner in the late 60's - 70's. Things were totally different back then, in a good way. When you went to my dad's shop and needed machining, you talked to the machinist doing the work. He would look you in the eye, and help you understand the options you had. He was a true Craftsman who had the experience to handle machining on rare or uncommon engines. This is exactly what Kenyon Machine is today. From the owner Greg to the lead machinist Robert the total years of real experience is staggering. If you have any machining needs, do yourself a favor and contact Greg.
