As an "Auto Repair Station," Jenkins Auto Repair provides a range of services essential for vehicle upkeep and repair. While the primary focus highlighted in the reviews is on maintenance, particularly oil changes, their classification suggests they offer a broader spectrum of services. These would typically include:

  • Oil Changes: A fundamental maintenance service, as directly mentioned in customer reviews.
  • General Vehicle Maintenance: Beyond oil changes, this would encompass routine checks, fluid top-offs (though with specific considerations, as noted in a review), filter replacements (air, cabin, fuel), and tire rotations.
  • Diagnostics: When a vehicle presents an issue, a reputable auto repair station would offer diagnostic services to identify the root cause.
  • Brake Service: Including inspection, pad and rotor replacement, and fluid checks.
  • Suspension and Steering Repairs: Addressing issues with shocks, struts, ball joints, and alignment.
  • Exhaust System Repairs: Addressing issues with mufflers, catalytic converters, and exhaust pipes.
  • Minor Engine Repairs: Depending on complexity, this could include spark plug replacement, belt and hose replacement, and addressing check engine light issues.

While Jenkins Auto Repair is not explicitly described as a retailer of auto parts for DIY customers, they undoubtedly use and provide quality parts necessary for the repairs and services they perform.

Key Features and Customer Experience

Customer experiences at Jenkins Auto Repair present a nuanced picture, highlighting both strong positive aspects and areas where communication and policy clarity could be improved. Key features derived from customer feedback include:

  • Fast and Efficient Service: A standout feature is the speed of their work. One customer enthusiastically stated, "they had the work done in less than 3 hours," and another noted, "Oil change was very quick" and "fast work." This efficiency is a significant draw for customers who value their time.
  • Reasonable Pricing: Customers generally find the pricing to be "reasonable," indicating that the cost of services aligns with expectations and offers good value for the work performed.
  • Friendly Staff (Mixed Reviews): One review specifically praised the "staff was super friendly." However, another review provided a contrasting view, describing a staff member, April, as "not exactly the friendliest person I’ve met, but she is direct." This suggests variability in customer interactions, with some finding the staff welcoming and others perceiving a more direct or less personable approach.
  • Direct Communication (Requires Proactive Customer Input): While direct communication can be efficient, one customer's experience highlighted a need for customers to explicitly state what services they do not want. The incident with the charged windshield washer fluid top-off, which the customer considered a complimentary courtesy, led to a defensive response from the shop when questioned. This indicates a potential for miscommunication regarding standard procedures and unexpected charges if not clarified upfront. The shop's stance that customers should "tell any shop in advance that I don’t want it" implies a policy that differs from many other establishments where such minor fluid top-offs are typically included as a courtesy without additional charge or prior consent.
  • Willingness to Accommodate: The shop's ability to get a customer in quickly, even for immediate needs, points to a flexible scheduling system and a willingness to help out when possible.

  • Online Coupons or Deals: Sometimes, local businesses utilize their websites or social media to post limited-time offers.
  • Word-of-Mouth Referrals: Given the positive aspects like speed and reasonable pricing, word-of-mouth recommendations are likely a significant driver of new business.

Customers interested in specific services or looking for current promotions at Jenkins Auto Repair are encouraged to call them directly at (802) 893-0040 to inquire about pricing and any available deals. Jenkins Auto Repair Customer Reviews

Jenkins Auto was fantastic! Got me in quickly, pricing was reasonable, the staff was super friendly and they had the work done in less than 3 hours. I would definitely recommend them!

TLDR: fast work. Think that charging for a fluid “top off” is normal when you didn’t ask for that service and give some serious attitude when you mention that isn’t cool. Make sure you just tell them everything you DONT want and you might be okay. We had been taking our cars to Jenkins for the 3 years we’ve lived in Milton. April isn’t exactly the friendliest person I’ve met, but she is direct. Went in and asked for an oil change. No more, no less. Didn’t ask me any follow up questions. No summary of expected cost was presented because, naturally, it’s just an oil change, so there was nothing in advance stating a price break down or the possibility of added costs. Oil change was very quick. I get the bill- an added charge of $2.89 for refilling the windshield washer fluid. Now, the low washer fluid light was not even on when I sent the car in. I have had my fair share of oil changes over my years as a vehicle owner, (including at Jenkins!!!) and I have NEVER been charged for a fluid “top off”. I confirmed with several other vehicle owners and mechanics that I wasn’t crazy and that was not normal. Per the mechanic folks in my life-a top off is a courtesy. You should never be charged for anything that wasn’t brought to your attention first and you agreed upon. Period. Did $2.89 bankrupt me? Absolutely not. But the principle didn’t sit right with me. Sent them a message indicating that this didn’t feel right and was met with a far cry from professionalism. Seemed that they took my message as an attack and got defensive rather than trying to see from my point of view of feeling like I was taken advantage of. I was told that they always do this and I should make sure I tell any shop in advance that I don’t want it… mind you ever dealership/shop that has ever topped off the fluids has done it complementarily. So I guess, if you want to go to Jenkins, they’re fast. But be sure you run through an entire list of the things you DONT want done because that’s how they seem to think it should go. Best of luck!

I cannot say enough good things about the Jenkinses. Bill is a top-notch mechanic who goes above and beyond to get the work done. April is friendly and direct, and extremely responsive, and their pricing is more than fair given how much work they put in! I will never take my cars anywhere else!
