Helped me out for sure, but was very expensive labor wasn't expecting over 400 for a replaced hose. Also waited a few days and had to contact everytime, but other than that the job was done well no problems.

I trust Jay. Period. I have a lot of cars. I have been to a lot of mechanics. In Ventura County, there are two I trust. One is Jay’s. If there isn’t a problem, he lets you know. If there is a problem, he charges you an honest price. I’ve sent my daughter there who is lazy and would rather take it to a place closer until I told her she is paying. We live in Ojai. We pass unknown amounts of mechanics on our way to Jay’s.

Jay went out of his way on New Years Day to help me. He happened to be in his shop on New Years 2024 when I saw his door open and he was inside - I needed a smog because I waited too long to get it done. When I saw him I asked if he was open - he said he was not and was actually closing up. I was bummed and he could tell. He asked what I needed and when I told him, thought a second and said, c'mon I'll get you. Stayed extra time on his day off to help me. Great to meet a genuinely good person!!!

I have been going to Jay's for decades. A great mechanic and truly honest. My daughter came up from Huntington Beach to have Jay work on her Kia.

Great for old carbureted engines because Jay can get them to pass smog testing with a little tuning. Very friendly and helpful staff. This is probably common sense but make sure you get a hold of someone on the phone rather than leaving a message. I left messages that didn't get checked but when I spoke with Jay or his employees they were prompt and got the job done. Not really a problem really as long as you know this. I will definitely be coming back to Jay's for my next smog check!
