Environment and Facilities

As an authorized Lincoln service center, Jack Metzer Lincoln Service would typically offer a professional and clean environment designed to reflect the luxury brand it represents. The facility on Montour Blvd would likely feature:

  • Modern Service Bays: Equipped with specialized tools and diagnostic equipment specifically calibrated for Lincoln vehicles. These bays would be capable of performing a full range of services, from routine maintenance to complex repairs and recall work.

  • Dealership-Standard Waiting Area: A comfortable and well-appointed customer waiting lounge, often with amenities like Wi-Fi, refreshments, and comfortable seating, is standard at authorized dealerships to enhance the customer experience.

  • Parts Department: Access to genuine Lincoln OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts, ensuring that all replacements meet the manufacturer's specifications for quality and fit. This is a significant advantage over independent shops that may use aftermarket parts.

  • Diagnostic Technology: Up-to-date diagnostic software and hardware directly from Lincoln, allowing for precise identification and resolution of issues specific to the brand's sophisticated electronic and mechanical systems.

  • Organized and Clean Workspace: A dealership service center generally strives for a high level of cleanliness and organization in its service bays, reflecting professionalism and attention to detail.

The location on Montour Blvd suggests good accessibility within Danville, likely with ample parking for customer vehicles.

Comprehensive Services Offered

As an authorized Lincoln "Auto Repair Station," Jack Metzer Lincoln Service provides a comprehensive range of services tailored to Lincoln vehicles. These typically include:

  • Routine Maintenance: All factory-scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, filter replacements, and multi-point inspections, designed to keep Lincoln vehicles performing optimally and maintain warranty validity.

  • Recall Services: Crucially, authorized dealerships are the designated points for addressing manufacturer recalls, where defective parts are replaced at no cost to the customer. This service, as highlighted by a customer review, is a primary reason many vehicle owners visit dealerships.

  • Advanced Diagnostics: Utilizing proprietary Lincoln diagnostic tools to accurately pinpoint issues with the vehicle's engine, transmission, electrical systems, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).

  • Brake Service: Inspection, repair, and replacement of brake components using genuine Lincoln parts.

  • Engine and Transmission Repair: Handling major and minor repairs for Lincoln powertrains, including complex issues that require specialized knowledge of the brand's engineering.

  • Electrical System Repair: Troubleshooting and fixing issues related to the vehicle's intricate electrical system, including wiring, modules, and components like fuses and lights, as noted in the customer feedback.

  • Tire Services: Sales, mounting, balancing, and alignment services for Lincoln vehicles.

  • Warranty Repairs: Performing repairs covered under the manufacturer's warranty, utilizing genuine parts and approved procedures.

Their affiliation with Lincoln ensures that technicians receive specific training on Lincoln models and use approved methods and parts.

Key Features and Customer Experience

As an authorized Lincoln service center, Jack Metzer Lincoln Service benefits from the brand's standards and resources. Key features include:

  • Lincoln-Trained Technicians: Mechanics are typically factory-trained and certified on Lincoln vehicles, possessing in-depth knowledge of their specific systems and technologies.

  • Use of Genuine OEM Parts: Ensuring that all replacement parts are designed specifically for Lincoln vehicles, maintaining the vehicle's integrity, performance, and warranty.

  • Access to Factory Resources: Dealerships have direct access to Lincoln's technical support, service bulletins, and specialized tools, which can be crucial for diagnosing and repairing complex or unusual issues.

However, the provided customer review paints a concerning picture of a specific service experience, highlighting significant challenges:

  • Service Quality Issues: The customer reported that after a recall service, the steering wheel fuses burned, leading to a "worse condition" vehicle and "without lights to cross." This suggests a potential issue with the quality of the repair work or incidental damage during the service.

  • Lack of Accountability: When confronted about the new issue, the customer was allegedly told that the problem "had nothing to do with the piece" changed during the recall and that the shop was "very busy" and "couldn't take care of me." This indicates a reluctance to take responsibility for post-service issues.

  • Poor Customer Service and Communication: The experience is described as "disgusting service." The customer felt dismissed, particularly noting, "the fact that I'm a woman doesn't mean that I don't know about cars," implying a perceived gender bias in the interaction. The demand for a new, paid appointment ($135 diagnostic fee) to address an issue that arose immediately after their service further exacerbated the negative experience.

  • Disregard for Customer Safety: Sending a customer away with a vehicle in worse condition and without essential functions like lights, particularly after a service, raises serious concerns about safety protocols and customer welfare.

This review suggests that while the facility may have the technical capability and resources, the customer service, problem resolution, and accountability aspects, at least in this instance, fell significantly short of expectations for a luxury brand service center. The disparity between the perceived brand standard ("disgusting service to be Lincoln") and the actual experience is stark.

Promotional Information and Value Proposition

Jack Metzer Lincoln Service, like other authorized dealerships, typically promotes its services based on:

  • Brand Expertise: Highlighting their specialization in Lincoln vehicles, with factory-trained technicians and the use of genuine parts, ensuring the highest standard of care for luxury cars.

  • Comprehensive Service: Positioning themselves as a one-stop shop for all Lincoln maintenance, repair, and recall needs.

  • Warranty Protection: Emphasizing that service at an authorized dealership maintains the vehicle's warranty and ensures proper documentation of service history.

  • Trust and Reliability (Brand Promise): Leveraging the reputation of the Lincoln brand for quality and luxury to instill confidence in their service capabilities.

However, the negative customer review indicates that the actual delivery of this value proposition can sometimes fall short, particularly concerning post-service issues and customer relations. For local Lincoln owners in Danville, PA, Jack Metzer Lincoln Service is the official avenue for brand-specific services, especially recalls. While they offer the technical advantages of a dealership, prospective customers should be aware of the importance of clear communication and ensuring full problem resolution, especially when issues arise directly after service.

Jack Metzer Lincoln Service Customer Reviews

Bad service I just go because my car have a recall but when they changed the part, the fucibles of the steering wheel burned and when I told them that it wasn't like that, they told me that they couldn't take care of me because they were very busy and that I had nothing to do with the piece, if they were moving the battery to change that piece and they burned the fucibles of the steering wheel and they tell me that it has nothing to do with, the fact that I'm a woman doesn't mean that I don't know about cars, I arrived with the car well and I went with the car in worse condition and without lights to cross, I'm still asking what I can do to see what the problem was and they tell me that I have to make an appointment that costs $135 for something that was ruined at the time they were doing the service that easy disgusting service to be Lincoln
