Inland Truck Parts & Service Introduce
Inland Truck Parts & Service in Des Moines, Iowa, located at 5678 NE 14th St, Des Moines, IA 50313, USA, stands as a premier destination for heavy-duty truck parts and comprehensive service. As a specialized establishment within the "Auto Repair Stations" category, Inland Truck Parts & Service focuses on the unique and demanding needs of commercial trucks, trailers, and other heavy equipment. You can reach them by phone at (515) 265-9901 or mobile at +1 515-265-9901, ensuring that truck operators and fleet managers have direct access to their expertise and vast inventory.
The operating hours for Inland Truck Parts & Service in Des Moines are structured to support the trucking industry, running Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. They are closed on Sundays. These hours demonstrate their commitment to being available for critical needs that arise during the work week and for crucial Saturday maintenance, minimizing downtime for their clients' valuable equipment.
The environment at Inland Truck Parts & Service is clearly geared towards professional and heavy-duty vehicle maintenance. Expect a robust workshop setting with bays equipped to handle large vehicles, along with a well-organized parts counter. The atmosphere is one of efficiency and specialized expertise. Customers, particularly those who are highly particular about their equipment, appreciate the meticulous approach taken by the service team.
Customer testimonials, though varied, provide insight into the typical experience. One highly positive review highlights a strong sense of care and commitment from the staff. This customer, dealing with complex truck shifting and vibration issues, found the service department (specifically mentioning Brent and Josh) to be highly responsive, willing to assist over the phone even before the truck was brought in. They provided detailed explanations of findings and options, fostering a sense of trust. The reviewer noted that Inland "had it fixed in no time at all!" and delivered a truck that "shifts like a brand new truck" with "no vibrations." This indicates a high level of technical proficiency and customer communication. The trust built with this customer was so significant that they would "take it there in a heartbeat next time and know I could leave it with them and have nothing to worry about."
However, another review highlights a potential area for improvement regarding transparency in pricing and billing. This customer experienced a driveshaft repair that was significantly over the quoted price, with unexplained charges for "shop supplies" and double billing for labor. This suggests that while the quality of work can be excellent, customers should actively seek clear, written quotes and detailed explanations for all line items to avoid surprises. This feedback underscores the importance of clear communication, especially when dealing with complex and potentially costly repairs.

- Truck shifting problems and transmission repair
- Vibration issues caused by driveline or u-joint problems
- General truck repair services
- Inland Remanufacturing (Inland Reman): A significant feature is their in-house remanufacturing and custom repair services for various components. This includes gear remanufacturing, which offers a cost-effective alternative to new parts while maintaining high quality.
- Component and Driveline Shop: This specialized shop focuses on repairing a wide range of truck components, ensuring that complex repairs are handled with precision.
- Mobile Repair Service: For certain issues, they may offer mobile repair services, providing added convenience to customers who cannot bring their vehicles to the shop.
Their commitment to providing quality parts from industry-leading manufacturers and offering solutions from top remanufacturers ensures reliability. The sheer breadth of their inventory means that when a part is needed, they either have it in stock or can acquire it quickly, minimizing vehicle downtime.
Inland Truck Parts & Service distinguishes itself through several compelling features, making them a go-to for heavy-duty vehicle needs:
- Specialized Heavy-Duty Expertise: Unlike general auto repair shops, Inland focuses exclusively on trucks and heavy equipment. This specialization means their technicians, like Brent and Josh mentioned in the review, possess deep knowledge of complex systems such as transmissions, differentials, and drivelines that are crucial for commercial vehicles.
- Comprehensive Parts and Service Integration: The ability to both supply a vast array of parts and perform expert repairs on-site creates a seamless experience for customers. This "one-stop shop" approach for heavy-duty vehicles saves time and streamlines the repair process.
- Advanced Diagnostic Capabilities: As evidenced by their ability to accurately diagnose and fix a subtle driveline timing issue that another shop missed, Inland uses sophisticated diagnostic techniques to uncover the root cause of complex problems.
- In-House Remanufacturing: Their Inland Reman facility allows for fast service and uncompromising quality on rebuilt components, providing economical and reliable solutions.
- Customer Communication (with a caveat): When communication is effective, as in the positive review, customers are kept well-informed about the diagnosis, recommended repairs, and options. However, the negative review underscores the importance of customers proactively ensuring transparency in pricing and detailed explanations of charges to fully leverage this strength.
- Employee Ownership: Inland Truck Parts & Service is 100% employee-owned. This ownership structure often fosters a higher level of commitment, pride in workmanship, and dedication to customer satisfaction, as employees have a direct stake in the company's success. This typically translates to a more engaged and service-oriented team.
- Extensive Network and Longevity: With over 80 years of experience since its founding in 1944 and numerous locations across the Great Plains and Midwest, Inland has a long-standing reputation and a robust network for sourcing parts and sharing expertise.
Inland Truck Parts & Service, as part of a larger network, frequently offers various promotions, though specific details for the Des Moines location are best confirmed directly. Their corporate website often features "Truck Parts Specials" which can include monthly flash sales on specific parts or components. These promotions are designed to offer savings on essential heavy-duty truck parts, such as engine components, brake parts, driveline components, and more.
Customers can typically subscribe to their monthly specials via email newsletters to stay updated on current deals. They also offer a "Loyalty Program" that can provide ongoing savings. For professional accounts or regular customers, establishing a relationship with their sales team (like Brent and Josh) might lead to tailored pricing or volume discounts, though this isn't publicly detailed.
The most compelling promotion for Inland Truck Parts & Service, however, comes from its reputation for expertise and solving complex issues that other shops cannot. The positive review, where a customer's truck was transformed from having persistent issues to shifting "like a brand new truck" with "no vibrations," acts as powerful word-of-mouth advertising. This demonstrated ability to provide lasting solutions and save customers from ongoing problems is a significant draw for the heavy-duty vehicle community. While it's advisable to get written quotes and clarification on all charges, the potential for high-quality, comprehensive repair and parts availability makes Inland Truck Parts & Service a valuable resource for truck owners and operators in the Des Moines area.

Inland Truck Parts & Service Customer Reviews
I had problems with my truck shifting. After multiple phones to Inlands service department which they were very willing to answer and try to help me as much as they could. After many trips there to get parts and I still count figure it out I took it in and they had it fixed in no time at all! They called and advise me of what they found wrong and fixed it. Truck shifts like a brand new truck. I also had a bad vibration issue that developed after I had another local truck shop replace my carrier bearings and rear output shaft seal. I had took it back to them and they kept telling me it was in the tires it was nothing they did. I had put new tires, shock air bags and leveling valve and still had vibrations. While it was at Inland they looked at the driveline and found it to be out of time which was binding the ujoint behind the carrier bearing. They also found the driveline to be bent. Inland advised me of what they found and gave me my options to fix it and I gave them the go ahead to do so. No vibrations and the truck shifts great! Brent and Josh were great to work with and they kept me updated on what they found wrong. This is a shop we’re they care and will take care of you! I’m VERY picky about my equipment and I would take it there in a heartbeat next time and know I could leave it with them and have nothing to worry about and know that it will be right and prefect when I get it back! Thanks Inland!!

Was disappointed when I went to pick up a driveshaft we had worked on. The price was $400.00 more than quoted, there was a charge for shop supplies which could not be explained, was charged to put the parts in another part and then charged $500.00 on top of that in labor. How can you charge for labor more than once? All of these things could not be explained. If you have them do work for you I would get an price in writing and make sure to get an explanation on each line item.

Got a PM service this morning at the Des Moines, IA location and was not overall impressed with this location like I am with Denton, TX. The service manager walked out with a pen and paper to get our vin and truck number. He put the paper up against our brand new 2022 Peterbilt 389 and proceeded to write the information down physical on our truck. Why does he not have a clipboard to do this? For the price I’m paying for the PM service I’d think Inland can afford clipboards. Then, the tech asked us to start our truck once he changed the oil. We asked him to confirm the type of oil he put in our truck. He did not know what type he put in. I opened the hood at that point and said let’s go through and double check some things. I found he missed the whole panel of grease inserts. At that point I asked him if he has ever done an oil change before. Overall, that made my experience not comforting. I come to Inland and pay the higher prices because my previous experiences with the Denton, TX location and their service manager, Ryan, is above and beyond. I guess all locations don’t have the same standards.

I just ran over a bungee cord on the busy road in front of their shop. I went inside with my 2 little kids to ask for a scissors to cut it in hopes of being able to at least drive to a gas station to change my tire. Instead they came out with me to cut it, then had me drive into the shop so they could put my spare on for me! Didn't charge me, wouldn't take any cash, customer service like this is something you don't find just anywhere today. Thanks so much for rescuing this stranded momma today!
